Samsung Dishwasher Won't Stop Draining!!

Long story short, my Samsung dishwasher (bought by previous owner in 2015) has developed a pin-hole leak under the tub gasket. Samsung is one of the manufacturers that do not offer the tub as a replacement part so a $1,000 dishwasher is dead after 8 years. Its times like this that I really hate that the leadership teams of manufactured goods design premature failures but using the BARE minimum material thickness and then draw and shape the metal even further.

Same issue and it was my turbidity sensor that was filthy. I cleaned it from the inside because I was chasing the problem for 6 hours and had it completely apart, but you can simply pull it from underneath, clean it, and pop it back in. Now I do it once a year and haven't had any issues since.

Thank you sooo much for this video!!! It is exactly what we had going on with ours. We were part way through the same investigation, and saved us from pulling the side panel out. We called the repair man at this point. Thank you for saving us a lot of time and frustration

Thanks for putting this up. I have a similar problem - I'm in the process of troubleshooting now .. operation manual is little help. Your stepping through the process of trying to fix your was most helpful for me in getting me started and giving me some clues as to what my issue was. Also, by puttin this up here you create a discussion from others who may have solved the problem.

The flood protection switch has been tripped so first problem is figuring out where the water is coming from and then second cleaning out the drip pan two screws on the bottom of the dishwasher pretty easy fix

Water is coming from under the seal on bottom of the tub. For 1 cycles per day I have zero issues. I have to do 6 back to back loads before I have the issue.

I think i have same issue .. i wipe the water and sensor is good for almost 1 wash.. it gets triggeted at the end of it..

i have this problem,i believe the float switch is stuck or defective,this makes the macine think its fuul of water although its not,going to find a video that shows how to replace float switch

@@dorothypaprocki3487 that wasn’t my issue. High use caused water to leak through a small hole and saturate a sensor.

Def don't get one of their dishwashers or fridges, I like our washer/dryer. The came with the house. Bosch or LG for a residential one. Almost want to get a reseidential size commercial dishwasher. 90 second cycle!

@@Jordan.Is.Novice I have Samsung washer and dryer, too. I had to have the washer repaired several times while it was under warranty. The dryer sounds like a belt is loose. I'm not happy with them either.

I have the oppsite, mine only drains when i trip the over flow sensor, im starting the think the heating element is starting to go bad cuz its not steaming left over water, then the next cycle throws an error there is to much water. It so dumb

This dishwasher came with the house. I will not purchase any fridge or dishwasher that Samsung makes.

At the end I think I mentioned it, but I have a small pin-hole in the tub under the primary seal. Doing 1 load every day doesn't cause an issue. Doing 5 loads right after each other is what uncovered this.

On mine, somehow water got in the bottom pan and engaged the leak sensor, cleaned it up and didn't happen again

I covered my issues and what my root cause was. I can understand how you might feel for watching a video and it not being directly relatable to your problem. I can not take ownership for my problem not being the same as yours. A hole in my washer tub is not something that is replaceable.

Your dw is in flood protection. Clean the drip pan underneath, a 1/4" teaspoon of water will send it in to drain (flood protection). Most likely caused by a leaky inlet valve or hose. You are looking in the wrong spot. It could be the sump seal but very rare.

We ended up finding a pin hole in the tub under the main seal from the sump section. Filled water in it and then looked for where it was leaking. If I 1 load every day it’s fine. It was doing 5 loads back to back that added up to cause the flood protection

@@Jordan.Is.Novice Thanks for your update. I'm not handy so would have to call a repair person. Based on your experience, after all of your frustration and hours/attempts to diagnose, and finally find the issue and then repair it, would you recommend repairing or purchasing a new dishwasher? Essentially, if I'm going to pay a repair person for hours to diagnose, is it better to replace? Thanks!

@@zafwarsi3238 I'm having the exact same issue with the exact same unit, should I try a repair person or just replace it with a new one? I heard Whirlpools are decent for the money.
