If you still want stay on 4G, the A03S is your best budget option, if you are on 4G and 5G, then the A13 5G is the next best budget option

@@mommyandlucas1897 I would suggest getting the A13 since it has a more powerful processor, 5G Support, and will get longer OS Support. However, if you want an Ultra-Wide Camera and maybe a cheaper option the A12 is decent

It's actually a decent phone especially for the price. Camera could use a little work. But other than that it works just fine. It chargers slowly but battery life is very good. Screen is bright and colourful. Overall it's decent for a budget .

I’m actually, hopefully, upgrading to the A03S from my Motorola Moto E 2020, and it seems like a solid upgrade in terms of Battery Life, RAM, Cameras, and Screen Size. Not to mention having the Superb One UI Software

Bro don't buy it. When it becomes 1 year old it will be so slow that your blood pressure might rise. I have a samsung phone with mediatek p35 processor and now for 1 and a half year my phone is very slow( i think this is a02 or a02s i am not sure) I recomend samsung a12 or wait for samsung a13.😉

@@TechDaily definitely a good choice, unfortunately I'm not sure if it supports 4G and 5G Bands or only 5G. Cause I'm currently on an affordable 4G plan and if I need to upgrade my plan just for a new phone it would too much for my budget

My wife and I were about to lose our 3G service at Verizon and we were offered two of these essentially free. We could have gone flip phones but wanted to try an Android device. Not gamers. Solid. For us it's just about perfect especially with the powerful battery. If we grow to like these kinds of phones think it's a decent value for the money - which is essentially what you said. We charge at night. Very old fashion so not a problem for us. Good video and you focus on strengths. Thumbs up.

Got one of these for my mother in law, she loves it, 4gb/64 model, $219 NZ. Fantastic battery life, OK camera (for her needs) and those were 2 of the key requirements. Only plays a couple of low tech games so no issues there. Charges it overnight twice a week.

I totally AGREE 💯% because I just upgraded to Nokia X100📱 from a LG Stylo4 Which the company are nolonger making phones, so my phn started lagging, and I'm in love with this phone already it was hard making that change, but I'm glad I did!

@@TechDaily I won't buy the a03s, apparently it's Helio P35 is less powerful than the Unisoc tiger T 606 found on the regular a03. Even an older processor like the Unisoc sc9863a which is a 28nm SoC has a better score on antutu benchmark than the Helio P35 (12nm) That's very weird of Samsung putting micro USB on the powerful Unisoc ones but use USB type C on the weak Helio ones

This is actually a good ass phone. It's obviously not a Note22 ultra but it's nice. My daughter has it on my Verizon plan. We have no complaints. She's mostly on RU-vid, TikTok and playing games and it has one of the best batteries I've ever seen and my Note22 has a dam good battery. Good phone. I would recommend it especially to save money.

@TechDaily - I think they take away the SD card option for flagship phones is because flagship phones have 128 gb 256 gb and even 512 gb of space so I guess they figure with that much storage space you really don't need a SD card. I don't know really. That's just my opinion.

Hey there TechDaily I'm looking for a great new phone to buy. I had the Moto One 5G Ace then the phone dropped and was broken then got the moto g pure and it's alot slower compared to the previous phone I had. Which phone would you recommend that's great on a budget with great call quality/reception and long battery life? Which is better Moto g pure, Samsung Galaxy a03s, Samsung Galaxy a13 4G lte?

Update 2: I'm using the A03s and for $180 it's decent. The Cameras are decent for the price, the screen is Crisp and Colorful, and the Battery Life is Very Solid. Unfortunately, the 4 year old Helio P35 Processor makes this phone feel sluggish and Gaming is disappointing considering the Samsung Brand and Quality. I would recommend buying the Moto G Pure or Nokia C line, unless you want to buy an Affordable Samsung Phone

Hi Buddy!! Good job on the A03s review. I need a sit in the drawer OH CRAP my phone died, lost it, got swiped, tornado took my phone to OZ phone and Consumer Cellular (I am an old lady) had this A03s (for $6 per month) or the Moto g Pure ($5 per month) on sale. Damn near free for my minimal emergency phone needs. I still have my Pixel 3aXL and when it dies I will upgrade to 5g. When you said in your review that the A03s was a better choice over the Motorola I knew you were THE MAN. Thanks so much for your efforts at even the most basic level phones and maybe add to your points which of these basic level phones are best choices for the STICK IT IN A DRAWER phones. I will use it and test it initially without actually activating it so I don't loose my 3axl usage.

So as of August 2022 what would you consider to be the next level up upgrade to this phone? I am still using my Verizon Voyager which of course is a 3G phone and will be coming to an end soon. Would like to play some games, need to shoot day and night video and take pics so would like some decent storage or additional storage capacity, Doesn't need to be the fastest but as always I welcome any speed advantage there is with decent screen. It's funny I was told the Voyager was the original "smart" phone back when they launched it but I was never able to actually get the browser to work well enough to actually even do basic email tasks - like read and then actually respond to an email! It took great pics and video for it's day and could text like a mother with that awesome actual keyboard! Not to mention my monthly bill is dirt cheap to this very day under $65 even with my wife on my plan with her little flip phone. Verizon sent her the Orbic flip but it is not a good replacement for her existing flip so it is going back and I will probably get her the A03s which would be perfect for her. For me though I would need something a bit more robust preferably for some decent gaming, video and pic shooting, and storage / speed and smoothness under $500. Thanks for a Great Review!

Samsung's next step up is the A14 at maybe $250, and up from that is the A54 at $450. Unlike the A03s, both of these are 5G phones.

Your review is spot-on. I have an A03s and I think it's a great device at a great price, for those who just really need a phone. It also has a great feel and it's considerably lighter than the rather heavy A54, making it more of a pleasure to hold. It's hard to imagine a nicer phone for those on a budget.

My dad got it for free on the handball european championship. I had a huawei p40 lite at the time(i upgraded to an iphone 13) and this phone was worse so he ga e it to my sister. She was happy with it. A nice budget phone which works quite well for 80 - 90 percent oc the time. Enough to talk with her friends, charges every teo days, not the best camera but she isnt a photographer (she is 9). Perfect for a person transiting from a flip phone and wants a nice,big and cheap phone.

Purchased one for a Zello to radio bridge I was working on. It definitely does lag behind. Battery life is short. Never had luck with the radio bridge. So now it’s limited to checking my trail camera.

I just purchased this phone via ATT for $69.00 + Tax. I am upgrading from a simple flip phone. I have a disability that really hampers my fine motor skills. My higher end phone screen just died on me and I needed a phone quickly. I bought this because it was all I could afford with such an unanticipated expenditure. My verdict: I like it overall. There is lag that bothers me a bit. My biggest complaint is it charges veeeery slowly! But for daily use, if you're someone who just needs a phone to do what a phone should do, it's perfect for me right now.

I've just spent 15mins trying to find this info on google and no luck. I am still using the Huawei P9 lite. It is a great phone when it comes to speed. But I want to upgrade to a phone with more internal space as the internal space on the P9 lite is extremely small. And the lack of internal space is extremely frustrating. The phone keeps on letting me know that the internal space is full even though I use an sd card. I need a good phone that I can use for the long run for basic use such as RU-vid and instagram and whatsapp and phone calls. Which phone would you recommend between the A03s and A12. And how far appart is the A03s from the A12 overall?

If the phone is telling you that the storage is full then its probably because you haven't told the phone where to put the photos/videos. In settings you have to toggle on SD card for your photos/vids to go to the sd car instead of the internal storage.

@@fabiennemitchell2371 I put a 128GB SD card into my A03s, and I believe it can handle a 1TB card if you have such needs. Yes you must be careful to tell your various apps, especially the photo-related apps (Camera and Gallery) to put their data there; you do this in the Camera's Settings and in the Gallery app each time you create an album. Each time you add an app (e.g. podcasts) you should check its settings to see if it supports putting its data on the SD card.

I use to buy this Samsung & Moto budget phones. But with these Mediatek older range processers the phones with slow down & it is lag city within the first year. Got a LG G8x with 855 snapdragon, 6gb ram, 128 internal storage. 11.0 Android with Android 12 coming in the summer. Att send a security update across their G8x in January. $148 dollars for a mint phone on Swappa. A year warranty. None of the low end phones can match a 1or 2 year old flagship

I recently bought the A03s. I just needed a cheap phone. Thanks to your video, I found out that it has a fingerprint reader. Very useful - merci! Also, thanks for suggesting that we turn off the Auto-HDR. The pictures still aren't great - but at the price I didn't expect much... Overall, so far, I'm happy with the phone.

@@Sue1725 A fingerprint reader saves you the trouble of unlocking your phone with a pin or pattern. Ask you have to do is touch the fingerprint reader on the side of the phone, and the phone lights up with your home screen. That way, your phone is both protected and quickly accessible. It is a good phone, if you aren't too picky about the quality of the pictures that you can take with it...

Two other things, I’m hoping to use my same Virgin SIM card into new phone do you think it will work? I also have a SD card in my Nokia 3, again hoping that will go in to new phone. I just want a good phone with more storage too, mine only has 15gb, useless, bought it 4 years ago. Like to watch YT, do texts, make calls,does it have Whatsapp on it if I want? @@Sue1725 I'm afraid that I can't definitively answer your questions. I switched my SIM card from my old LG Q6 to this Samsung A03s without any problems. I'd expect that switching yours should work as well... And it does have space for the storage card that you currently have. Although you'd certainly do well to buy the A03s with at least 32 GB of native storage.

Good news: You can download Bixby Routines APK into the A03s if you like to customize the functionality of this phone. Bad news: Only Bixby Routines APK is allowed on the A03s. Other Samsung APK apps like Samsung's own Game Booster and Game Booster Plus will never work on the A03s.

Another great review. You're my go to phone reviewer for the more budget focused devices especially from Samsung. I used to buy flagships years back but honestly now days a budget phone like this does all I need so why spend more? I also strongly agree that Samsungs UI is the best for budget phones. Xiaomi give you way better specs on their devices but MIUI is very glitchy I find and I can't be bothered to customise it and tinker in the settings. Keep up the excellent reviews it's much appreciated - regards from the uk

I just got this phone yesterday and i already downloaded Snapchat and Instagram and apps for school lol and my tee tee is ordering a case for me so im using a butterfly glitter one until she brings it and all i need is a charger and a screen protector bc when i had my Samsung galaxy ao2s i was leaving 5 below fell flat face first on the ground 😭 and it was laggy and it got really worst and now Friday September 16th its day one and i love it already even tho its not the iPhone 11 its ok im grateful i saved up 50 dollars😭 for my phone and i finally got it yesterday ❤💖

I recently had the moto g Stylus 4g 2022 and I absolutely loved that phone but I dropped it and the screen shattered with one drop..Now I have the Samsung galaxy A03s which costed me less than the moto g Stylus 4g 2022 and it's okay. I love big screens and I really truly loved my moto g Stylus 4g I will get another one day.

Needing info for first-time smartphone buyer, purchased a Moto G Power 2021, it's very nice if you are a much more advanced user. So am going to this Samsung AO3s. It will not be used for games, texting, movies, or taking many photos. I JUST WANT A PHONE to carry for an emergency. But will use some of the features that only a smartphone can help me with. A mixed review as to whether this device comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack/port ? and charge Block & cable seems some do & some don't? These Company's just when to nickel & dime everyone! As far as PHONE quality goes for sound is it clear sounding? Any help, thanks.

Samsung doesn't include a charger in US market versions of this phone (or any phone anymore); but, they do in some overseas markets. The factory 15W charger this should've came with is available on Amazon for $11 and Samsung's own website for $20; but, the one that came with your Motorola will work just as well. All of the A03s come with a headphone jack - which automatically makes them better than a $1000 Galaxy S.

For me I had to order this phone from straight talk or whatever they are called I have never used anything like this before because I have always been with Verizon and have had been with Samsung since the Samsung s5 active up until the note 20 ultra but I will be completely broke for 2 to 3 weeks so this phone doesn't look bad as a temporary setup I mean the fact that it has a fingerprint sensor blows me away I would've never thought a phone at this price has that especially the face unlock lol

We just ordered two of these from QVC for $59.99, $5.99 shipping (each), including 1year Tracfone service, etc. Should be an upgrade from our LGL 158VL Android 7.0 Tracfones. Hope that activation with old phone numbers and transfer of minutes, etc, won't take hours.

If you can run SmartSwitch on your old phone, you'll be amazed at how quickly it preserves all your data. Our old phones were LG Phoenix 2 phones from 2015 running Android 6, and SmartSwitch ran on them and preserved all our data from them in a matter of minutes.

Paid $50 for mine through Tracfone. I am amazed by what you can get for this price. It's not a gaming device but you don't expect that from a bare-bones budget phone. For the average user, this phone will get you where you want to go. I'm more than pleased, so I bought a second one for backup.

I watch the whole review. You did not review the phone as a "phone" Like how many hours of calling time for a full charge. Is the call clear enough on its speakers. Does it heat up on long time talk. Is the ringtone loud enough to be heard and vibrations easily felt when you are in a crowded place. What are its options in receiving a call, like swipe, buttons. Some phones do "pocketcalling" because of accidentally being tapped by body heat inside pocket. does it happen here. I hope you include these aspects in your reviews. Overall, your reviews are all awesome. 👍👍👍

It's Sept 2022 now and my phone was stolen and of last month by a guy I was friends with over 20+ years & was even in a band with him years ago but he got me. Anyway, though I always ask for insurance when I get new phones something happened here in our local MetroPCS/T-Mobile store where somehow my insurance was taken off my line but my wife's line I added has insurance.! Idk what happened but I got screwed. So, found a guy locally selling a used one of these for $40 imma get it tomorrow till I can get a better, more new phone but this phone starting to look good the more I do research on it! We'll see tomorrow hope it lasts me a while till I get a more newer, name brand phone this time.

I value internal storage I would be fine with 32gb and at least 4gb of ram and I also like my screens big and a good screen such as oled or amoled lcd is getting out of date for me I also value performance I use my galaxy a01 for some games and yes they do lag a little bit I miss my galaxy s8 it was actually pretty good.

Got mine for $50 at wal mart. Solid phone overall. Does the basic things a smartphone does well, with a bigger than average display, power button fingerprint scanner, face recognition, etc.. Upsides are the battery lasts a good while, however it takes a long time to charge sadly... does it not support fast charging because ordered a 25 W samsung fast charging cable from Walmart website. Did I buy that for no reason since you said it only supports 15 W charging? One last thing I didn't like; it's not NFC compatible so you can't use samsung pay or Google pay. For $50 though it does the job well.

@Unorganized grabastic piece of amphibian sh!t. I got the A03s for my dad. There is a 7.8W charger included but i use my existing Samsung 15W charger instead. Charging time is about 3 hours from 10% to 100% and can last my dad 3 to 4 days bcos he only use for calls and messages.

I was forced to buy a phone that worked, the cheapest ones available at the moment were a Mob something and a Galaxy A03s, I'm familiar with Samsung so I grabbed the A03s. Of course in situations where shopping for the best price is not an option I probably paid $10 of $20 too much. The phone seems to be heavy and clunky compared to the Galaxy 5S I was suing but the A03s operates on the networks in the US and it runs the programs necessary for international travel. I can talk on it and use email and programs like Messenger. My biggest gripe is the camera doesn't have a voice command option for taking picture. Other than that it does what I need it to.

You can get this phone for 80 dollars or less at at QVC. That includes one year of service from tracfone. I bought mine for 55 dollars.I am upgrading from a Motorola, a 4 core cpu that is slow as a turtle and only has android 8 on it.

This is the perfect phone for me. Only thing I do on my phone is go online , make phone calls, text messaging, take a photo here and there and use a few apps. I don't really watch TV or movies on my phone and I don't game on my phone.

The A03s already using OneUI Core, a supposedly lighter version of OneUI. But from my experience, the Core is still quite heavy compared to stock UI on Nokia and Mototola

Just bought this phone for $59. I own a landscape and property rehab company and break phones all the time so inexpensive pay as you go phones work best for my environment. Screen size is great. Takes long time to charge I noticed but once charged last a very long time. Camera is OK, typical really for cheaper phones but nothing that an app photo editor can't fix. Photo editing buttons kind of suck. They could use a update. I could pick it apart I guess but I knew I was only paying $59, and for that why complain? The video review I just watched paid $180 I paid well below that. It's good for the price and what I use it for. It's a disposal phone for me as It seems I break one a year while out working. People buy these $1000 IPhone or more expensive other brands and after they are done playing with it for the first week they are just using the same basic settings I am anyway. Except I don't have payments. If I damage or break it I just go buy another one.

I have the same issue my self and I just pull the trigger and bought it for retail price here in Canada 190 including tax. I have been using a Samsung Core Lte for 5 or so years and do calls, text and occasionally internet: youtube etc. Never Games. I think it will be fine if you go for it. Don't listen to the "Complainers" they actually used their fore 24/7 for everything therefore, they need a Higher End phone.

Also, the UI is nothing like Samsung's. Overall, I'm quite pleased with storage, display size, and battery life (2-3 days).

ive herd bad reports on this phone. But i bought one anyhow. I love this phone, Im 58 and dont spend all day on my phone. Infact i have never used more than two gigs of data in a month. I only use gb if im fishing to check weather, check bank account, Or get on maps when traveling. For the average senior this phone is great and easy to use. I like mine except it takes forever to charge. I'm talking 4-5 hours. I've taken it back & they replaced the charger & the phone but still 4-5 hours to charge
