Watch the full Samsung Galaxy BMX Street competition from X Games Ventura 2024!
How medal event is judged:
1 heat of 8 athletes competing with two :45 second runs, followed by a 12 minute best trick jam session. In the first part, athletes will take two runs, best run of two counts. In the second part, athletes will do as many tricks within the 12 minutes, best trick counts. Judges will score competitors throughout the contest.

The ONLY good thing about this is Scotty announcing, everything else is absolutely horrible. This format is terrible! Whoever thought and approved this as a good idea should be fired asap! Taking away a whole other event and adding it to another is the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

Yeah, I was actually kinda glad about that... Kevin is amazing, and I love his style and super clean lines. But I watch street because I love street riding; would be kinda sad if it ends up turning into park riders trying to scoop up an extra medal by tricking every quarter they see and throwing in a smith to bar to make it a "street run".

I hate how they judge bmx these days. You can do the hardest tricks and mess up one and you land at the very end of the ranking. That's the wrong approach imo.

Godwin does only 9 tricks/combos, they were all clean with high difficulty but slow and small, I would have given it to either Peraza or Adams or Garrett's first run.

This format needs some major work if they want to keep it, the regular runs had good energy and all but the best trick portion wasn't good, too much dead time waiting for scores. Also the course just wasn't built for a best trick, everyone using a small up rail or the van feature is telling of how there wasn't a spot to do a real banger

Most years I can ignore the subjective judging but this year was actually atrocious. Usually they give the first rider a lower than normal score and did the exact opposite this time. The jam was also a failure as it took 3 minutes to get through 2 riders. Let everyone keep riding and do the judging at the end. Courage did good and I almost think if he landed the 540 they still would have marked him lower than Jordon.

@@fmfory6yes. Godwin’s run was good. He had like 2-3 really good grind tricks in both of his run but I feel like Garrett should’ve got scored higher given some of the tricks he was doing. Just look at all the comments. Everyone is agreeing on how the scoring sucks this x game
