This is my last video for 2023. This year has had it's ups and downs but at least it is almost done. I do hope for 2024 to be better, especially as I am now in the process of getting myself together and planning for the foreseeable future.
This video is a 37 min (yes, it is long) review on the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2. I've wanted to do a review for a while but had to find the time (mostly due to work). I have tried my best to cover as much as possible here; to note this is the 2nd time I have ever spoken in videos so if my wording/sentences come off awkward it is because I am not used to my voice and can be nervous.
The main things covered include the specs/design, information on software and also apps I have on the phone. Overall, I would recommend this phone if you would like something minimalist for the basics. Although social media can be downloaded on this phone, you have the option to delete it and the same applies to pre-installed Samsung apps (via external means). The phone is old due to being released in 2017 so don't expect it to be snappy.

I wish samsung releases this type of flip phone with some upgrades like the recent android version, bigger ram and storage, add mini window screen in the center of outer flip phone . Analog but smart.

i still use my samsung folder as a phone, if anyones doing research, boost mobile is compatible with this phone, and its relatively cheap. I absolutely adore this phone and has held up for a whole year. the only downside is, is that it takes like 10 years to charge. so keep that in mind.

@_cats honestly it's been great. I'm in the midwest and I have great service! I've never noticed a drop in calls and I'm using boosts cheapest plan.

I've been using my white samsing folder (Korean version) for a month now and love it! Thank you for your review. It really helped me make the purchase! If anyone is curious, I use T mobile as my carrier and purchased it on Ebay for $180 with shipping.

From what I read on reddit, some people get service for t mobile and some people do not. It depends on where you live. I got service in the TN and GA.

Hi, I use various apps (i.e. moddroid/jojoy) or just type the modded app I want in Google and download - to note if downloading modded apps via Samsung Internet you will need to allow download from unknown sources in settings.

I ordered a SM-1600 version from AliExpress for around ~75$ including shipping and could not find a case on Ali. In your link case costs quarter of what I paid for the phone.. £25.52 I guess I will be using it without a case. So sad, case should not cost so much.

Hi, I was able to use Spotify fine; the phone supports most carriers as long as it is an unlocked model.

Yes, but idk if all the SIM cards work so you have to check with your operator. Ik that Verizon, Bouygues and Orange works with it but idk about the rest

@luisdiscomagical6961 hi, from personal experience it does take some time to charge + you can move photos + videos to the phone (probably via smart switch if supported). Please note that you have either 16 or 32GB internal storage options, if you have lots of photo/video footage it is recommended to get a microSD card :)

hi there! I've been thinking about whether or not I should purchase this phone from online sellers, this video has helped smm!! Though I'm still unsure if I should go for the purchase. I do have a couple of questions - Do you know if this phone works in the oceania region? (specifically New Zealand) + How do you know if the ebay seller is legit? (The answer to this question might just be common sense, however I'm not too familiar when it comes to online shopping on sites like ebay)

@strawae hi, I purchased both phones from a South Korean seller via EBay; to note I usually check the information regarding the condition of the phone and also if the pictures were taken by the actual seller (as some use images via Google). Both phones I have are unlocked and you should be able to use with almost any carrier (in my case my EE sim from UK works when making and receiving calls/messages). If you intend to purchase, keep in mind the white model goes out of stock quickly - in my case I was lucky the same seller had one more of that model in second-hand condition.

All of the eBay ones I’ve seen don’t specify what keyboard it is and they all have the same photos so how did u know what keyboard type to get (I need the English one ) And could you get social media on the black version?

@BxredSxul hi, when purchasing from EBay the seller was based in South Korea so I had the Korean edition of the phone, in keyboard settings you can change to English or your native language. Also, social media is available on the black version, however I chose not to install as I kept the basics and utilities on the phone. As for platforms that are preinstalled, I used external methods via WebADB to uninstall.

This phone, apart from the original version and the 2021 version, is divided into two: the SM 1600, which is not compatible in the US, and there is the SM 1650, which people who have bought it say is compatible for the US

You can purchase from sites like EBay (which is where I got mine from), Amazon, Shopee (if you live in certain Asian countries) etc. The white model does sell quick, the one I got was the last at the time of purchase.

Hi, if you are someone who prefers a simplistic design with modern hardware then yes! Only thing is if you use the folder 2 line as a main phone don't expect it to be fast as it has android 6.0.1 (marshmallow) and this software iirc was released in 2015.

I just got this phone! If you’re in the states boost mobile should work (im in Tennessee it’s what I have for this phone and it works for me! ) also make sure it’s the g 1650 version that’s the one that I got and the one that works in the us
