I purchased the Samsung ring sizing set so that I could try different sizes on the finger I'll be using to wear the ring. Really happy I did that as the size I am normally is too small, one size larger is perfect. I wore it for a week during the day and a week at night to make sure I wouldnt get annoyed wearing it. After a few days I forgot I was wearing it, same at night. Its a fantastic tracking device and I'll be ordering it soon. Great review/vlog, thank you!
Just wanted to point out. Hand gestures dont currently work on slab models like S24 Ultra, etc. Only the newer flip models because they are pre loaded with 6.1.1.
I have been misled :( Not by you Jimmy is Promo but rather the internet and even Samsung! I was told the Galaxy Ring can measure Blood Pressure and that is the main reason for getting this because I already have an Oura Ring. Now after watching this video of yours and doing another online search Samsung's website states that the Galaxy ring doesnt do blood pressure but apparently the Watch 7 does? (i do not know, i'll have to look it up lol)
From what I understand the gestures only work with the new foldable devices. They should have had the update ready when the ring debuted for older devices. With a 399 price this works have been the standard. They got me regretting my purchase. I want DJ KOH back!!!
I wear a wedding ring daily and swap the Samsung ring out when i get home and take off my watch. I'm probably returning the Samsung ring. It's so uncomfortable. I even bought a silicone cover to try and alleviate the issue.
I am going from the Oura to the Samsung ring… mostly because it integrates great with Samsung Health. Everything seems good so far but I think the sleep scores are a bit high. If I have a decent night sleep that I would think would be a sleep score of 75-80, I get a 97 on Samsung’s ring.
I feel like the size kit should be free because what if you order the size kit and no size fit you? Your $10 goes to waste, and there are muscular people who have really fat rings, if it's meant to be for ring finger, there are people with average to small sized finger who hardly fit size 13 on their pointer finger so in that case your money goes to waste.
@jimmyispromo samsung said you will automatically get $10 discount if you have purchased the guide kit, but they never said anything about refunding you. To be honest with you, the size guide kit should be free whether you purchase or not
Yeah, Samsung clarified that before sales went live. Wave rider content creators didn't cover that. They also didn't cover the hand gestures not working until your phone has 6.1.1, which won't roll out until late August. Early September.
Definitely a cool idea, but in practice, just not that useful. The ring can't track much, and the stuff it does is not always accurate. I'd imagine most people would wear it a month, realize the metrics are sorta useless in the way they are presented, get tired of always charging the thing and just stop using it. Maybe in the future Samsung can figure out how to get better metrics and present the data in a way people care about.
@@1993rufus If you want to buy it to find out what you already know, have at it. I would think most users would want actionable information they can use to improve their health. Telling me I slept for 4 hours is useless. I already know this and do not need to pay lots of money followed by charging weekly and wearing this ring to learn that. As it stands today, the metrics it provides are empty and useless. Samsung needs to lean in to their AI and offer real world solutions to better ones health with useful information. However this is not possible if the ring can not even gather accurate data. Again, I see you are being facetious and that is fine. If you want the ring, go for it. It is cool tech, just very far from where it needs to be. Clearly rushed to market to beat other competitors.
I think the killer feature of the ring moving forward will be an increasing number (with software updates) of gesture controls. The already existing double tap gesture could work for any number of things, and other gestures could also be added. It is already cool for controlling phone features, but imagine using the ring to control a curser within a headset display.
