Appreciate it. I had found instructions on Google but it wasn't working although they were the same instructions as yours, you have to time it correctly so it works otherwise it'll just do a simple restart without entering the reboot system.

I answered my own question i guess. I tried it on my S22 and it worked the same as his did on the video. Thank you to allaboutphones, you people are amazing. The guys are t mobile had no ideas at all. They told me i had a paperweight. And the guy there is the one that put in the pin number but he tried to tell me that i did it. He's the one that set up the damn phone a year ago. And it froze up on me the next day while i was trying to put in my contacts. What a jerk he was . Now i finally get to use my samsung. Thank you allaboutphones.

For this to work on s21 or s21 ultra your device must be plugged in to a computer or laptop.

This doesn't work on mine 😕 it restarts when I hold the down and power button but then when I hold up and power button it just restart normally and takes me back to lock screen. Help?

I was only able to get into recovery mode and reset the phone whilst it was connected to a computer via USB.

So anyone could steal your phone and factory reset it from the lockscreen essentially making the whole find my device feature redundant. Kind of stupid

You can plug your phone to a monitor if your screen is black like mine. LCD cracked. I then followed the steps blindly and it worked. 4 taps down, power. 1 tap down, then power. This way I'll be able to get full credit when I trade it in.

After I do this how do I by pass the Google account? Have a phone at work and I can't get ahold of the previous customer who had it.

I had to try this today, sadly it didn't work (maybe they changed the firmware), but it doesn't enter the recovery mode, just puts me back in "put in your password".
