@@DariusKracht tbh i really wna see how exynos perform when it is playing game for 1long hour continuous..becz i guess its performance wil not be upto the level of snapdragon if we put both them aside and play for 1 hour continuous
@@DariusKracht Can you please try to include the Fold 2 but test out the front screen? Or try to use the combined usage with Front screen and inner big display - lets say 50/50 which I think would be fair and most importantly very interesting to see, as NO ONE on RU-vid has ever did it. There are only tests for big main screen and I think it could bring some pretty interesting results. Thank you for your great work man!
@A J the hardware is controlled by a "software", so a lot of hardware problems might actually be software related. So yes, it can be fixed with an update most of the time
My s21 ultra snapdragon has been amazing. I have mine with all settings on and I was at close to 7 hours of SOT with 30% the other day. This is mainly browsing, texting and RU-vid but that's still very impressive to me. Great test!
@@darthnoward4612 That will still drain battery you should use the S21 Ultra on 720p + 60Hz with moderate brightness and reduce CPU speed to 70% by enabling power saving mode to get great battery life.
When watching these battery test videos, I also find the comparison the screen sizes of all the phones on display very important too. If you can perfectly align all phones on the same baseline horizontal and vertical, this would enhance the video setup imho, and help viewers see the sizes comparison side by side too. Thanks for the good videos.
snapdragon built on TSMC process is king. Unfortunately nowadays they use Samsung 5/4nm process for SD 8 gen 1 and it is bad in terms of battery and heat...
I have to say. My s21 ultra exynos has had a few updates since release. I'm happy with battery life and performance. Certainly better than past Samsung exynos models.
Have the note 10+ with exynos 9825. Still a really good performance. 555k antutu and 3350 in 3dmark wild.... not better than 865 or 865+ or 870, but on par with 860 and better than 855. =) battery life is also decent.
@@mralxndr2846 Performance never really been an issue with the 9825 but battery life is just horrible. I barely made 7 hours, mostly about 6. I bought the A52s a few days ago and ... 10+ hours of sot. It's a night and day difference
@@nico3064 That's why everyone hates Exynos and performance is an issue on Exynos 9825 when gaming it throttles and lags within like 10 mintues of playing PUBG.
@RAHUL I'd highly recommend trying to get the S21+ because S21 and S21 FE have pretty lackluster battery life but if you aren't a heavy user the S21 would be better because it has better haptics, cameras and its cheaper now than the S21 FE
Yup this is true of the Note 20 Ultra exynos version. I'm glad for the extra storage that comes with this model, but I wish I had the snapdragon varient for better battery. I must say that with the right tweaks, you can get more out of it battery wise.
I want to add my experience to this mix ! I have at home a s20+ exynos, a52s 5G with snapdragon on 120hz non adaptive and s21 exynos 120hz adaptive . S21 - SOT on wifi is 7-8 hours approx . But takes a bigger hit on cellular with 5-6.5 hours. Where as a52s snapdragon one has a better battery life with 8-9hrs on wifi and 7-8 hours cellular . I see that stamdby drain and passive cellular drain is higher on exynos by a big margin. Verdict - s21 exynos is much better Vs s20plus Exynos . But Snapdragon is still better none the less Edit - Forgot to add s20plus exynos is not good at all 5-6 hours is all it gives plus When u use camera lot the it heats and battery takes a big hit
I also have the S20FE but my battery doesn't last that long... The moment I turn it On, after 2 minutes the battery is 98%... even if I don't touch my phone... 😔
Just bought one S20 FE 4G with exynos (since the 5g with snapdragon variant is still unavailable) yesterday and it drains fast plus it warms up easily, has heating issues with even just watching videos and browsing.
I had the same issues with my Note 10 Plus ... Also Exynos. I bought the A52s a few days ago and I'm blown away by the battery life. 10+hours of screen on time are absolutely no problem with day to day use. Admittedly I deactivated the 120 herz mode because I can't see a difference anyway but still. No more device with Exynos processor for me
When did you bought your s20fe? The 4g exynos is discontinued and the 2021 s20fe 4g is now a snapdragon. Download an app like cpu z and check your processor.
Great video! Would love to see a test with the Fold 2 switching between the cover screen and the big screen. I find myself using the cover screen more than 50% of the time and am curious to see how that would compare to other phones.
Hi! I would be interested for this test too, as no one did it before! What screen on time are u getting from your Fold 2? Is the battery affected by last update to One UI 3.0?
@@Igor-vf9lh I think the update made it slightly better. On average I get 16 hours of combined use on a full charge. 120hz enabled, no battery saver mode, Bluetooth and wifi always on. I do prefer dark mode though. I get about 7.5 hours of screen on time using a mix of the outer and inner screen. Pretty solid!
I had the Note 20 Ultra myself and the battery life was terrible. I took the phone to work fully charged in the morning and after work, i.e. about 8 hours later, the battery was at 5%. Likewise, I only used messenger services like WhatsApp and Facebook. I did not play games or watch videos. That is a really weak performance. Now I have the S21+ and it lasts 1 1/2 days with the same usage. Which is very amazing. Of course, this is still nothing compared to the new model of the Huawei P30 Pro, which lasts almost 2 1/2 days with the same usage, but I am still satisfied with the S21+.
I think you cant go wrong with S21+. New exynos is much more battery efficient as you can see in S21+ it is a beast. Much better phone than FE, if we are not looking at the priec.
My samsung doesent evne get remotely close to 6 hours. It always dies at either 4 h 30 or barely 5 hours with 120 hz, and with 60 hz, its not much different when makes me doubtful about the phone upon why it doesent put up good battery perforamnce which is the ultiamte reason on why i bought the phone. I have a s21+5g, if there is any help in improving the battery, please tell me. I dont use it that intesely too.
I thought sony 5II have a variable refresh rate. per gsmarena the 120hz will give you 102h while 60hz is 110h endurance rating. Great video comparison. Standby test should always be in every battery drain test.
Tô com m51. Excelente smartphone. Faz 15h de tela facil. Camera excelente. Só queria q ele tivesse a função dex stantion e a pasta segura. Por isso estou pensando em vender e comprar o s20 fe com snapdragon
Great comparison bro..i thought to take s21 bcz of its size..but now my decision changed bcz of 1 h33 min battery life..will matter a lot...great video..thank u bro...❤❤❤
The Snapdragon 888 is less efficient than the Snapdragon 865. The Snapdragon 865 is by far the most efficient chip made by Qualcomm. You can look at the reviews of the Snapdragon 888 and you will see that it is less efficient and generates more heat.
It doesn't work like that sadly. The key to the s20fe's battery life is the 1080p 120hz display 6.5 inch 20:9, 4500mah battery and the most important one is the SD 865 made by tsmc. The s21 fe will check all this boxes except for the samsung manufactured sd 888.
Właśnie brakuje takich filmików testowych z telefonami bo naprawdę można się zdziwić.. A większość woli się kłócić o niektóre rzeczy związane z telefonami... Super filmik, będę wiedział co wybrać.
Despite the ultra having a bigger battery, it’s battery seems to be going down quicker than the plus version. How does that work? I have the ultra and it’s battery life is amazing for me.
Heavy use on the processor causes more battery use this is a heavy use drain test. Better processor dealing means easier battery consumption means more hours of battery life
Seems samsung need better quality control. My S21 Ultra has never overheated or crashed in the camera app recording. The newer update may have helped with this as some are reporting. How did you set brightness on the devices?
The screen size doesn't matter in battery comparison the more the pixels the display and processor has to push matters. If there are two phones at quad hd+ resolution and one has 6" screen another has a 7" screen the battery drain is gonna be the same provided the refresh rates and brightness are similarly calibrated.
Yeah sure and if I setup a huge ass led screen 300 inches and it's resolution is only 1080p giving it a low ppi it would consume the same as a 6 inch 1080p display.
@@Dongzzzzzz If the size difference is that big it'll affect battery life but for a fraction of inches only resolution matters. Actually for a bigger display a pixel has to be brighter to light up the same area as ot is physically bigger but fir a few grac of an inch it barely matters.
Just watched the whole video and I am impressed how you don't already have at least 100k subscriberrs. Keep the great work, very informative, best of all. You mentioned processors, you measured brightness of screens, included standby. Just wow, perfect reviewer for me.
Please may I ask: Does it throttle and lag when playing heavy games for more than 2 consecutive hours and does it overheat? That's 90% of the reason I want to buy it.
@@Androidu That's pretty normal with ALL Samsung phones, they tend to go from 100% - 95% quite quickly. I think it's a problem with the battery indicator not being accurate rather than the phone draining battery fast .Rather continue using the phone and see how long it lasts.
Strange I just switched from the S20 FE 5g to the 21U exynos. Because I found the battery life on the former mediocre at best. S21 ultra has been better for me. S20 FE was great for the price though..
just 4% less on standby time for the s21 base variant? how's is that possible? i sleep for about 6-8 hrs and every time i check my s21 in the morning it's always almost less 20%.
Very disappointing to see s21 ultra last that short amount of time, given that it has the largest battery among s21 and s21+ I was expecting it could easily outlast them....
My S21's battery life has improved ever since One Ui 4. But way before that, it has great battery life when it wants to, but One Ui 4 made it better. Still, it didn't even touch the excellent battery life I have had on my secondary phone
@@Harshit-ox7ky its an Exynos, and the least SOT I got is around 7Hrs, most is 11Hrs. Again, it fully depends on your usage. In my case, I managed 11Hrs is due to the fact that I used the phone really lightly (like really light) but as for 7Hrs, its mostly because of continuous video playback, social media activities. Battery life has actually gotten better on One Ui 4, but I can no longer achieve that 11Hr that I got when I first had the phone for a faw days. To be fair, I don't think there will be a noticable difference in battery life if you opt for either Snapdragon or Exynos since you are most likely not going to have both versions side by side. But I still advice going for 888 for the theoretical better battery performance. Final thing is, my Exynos phone haven't overheated for no reasons at all. But when it overheats when editing and exporting videos, it does get really toasty. In an attempt to cool down my phone, I placed ice on it and it melted in 2 minutes. So yeah, you get the idea that it gets really hot if you really push it, but in my use case, it gets that hot because it is, understandably doing something intensive. Lag wise, it does when it overheats like hell (as discussed previously) but it seldomly does that. Overall, my experience with my S21 has been okay at worst (since I came from a S7, headphone jack gone, SD Card Slot gone, heart rate sensor gone, all big deals for me) and really amazing at best. It ain't the longest lasting phone I used, but it is still quite solid for what it can do.
@@Harshit-ox7ky yep, and thats really rare when I do.. forgot to take that into account but when you play games on it, it gets really horrendous when it comes to battery life (Assoluto Racing). I haven't quite tried it yet, but if I think it might last 4Hrs max if you play similar game(s) like I do.
S21 overheating issues is driving me to change. My S21 ultra can't multitask a video what's app call while surfing the net without overheating! Try it Exynos owners, bet yours stop multitasking within a few minutes.
Same question. Your unit drop to 99 % after you unplug? Please reply soon. This one in the video after 29 minutes. That's crazy. Same S20 FE 5G with Snapdragon
It makes no sense to me that my Note 20 Ultra doesn't do 120hz on 1440p, the fold 2 basically has the same processor and runs at 120hz and full resolution and same size battery
