The s 20 is hardly inferior to the newer models. The differences are very small. In fact, some photos look better on the s20. Video also hardly differs from each other. All in all, unless you always want the latest, upgrading isn't really necessary. In fact, the s 20 has more ram, a quad hd screen and expandable memory. Things that the two newer models do not have.

I have a S20+ and the expandable memory is huge, but I didn't know about the quad HD screen not being present on S21/S22. That's indeed quite "interesting" to say the least...

And the difference rely much more in image processing than anything else. You can improve a lot these shots using a well adjusted Gcam for S20 (at least for Snapdragon ones). I have Gcam for 20FE and front camera is close to my wife iPhone 13 in a lot of scenarios or even better in some. Back camera Samsung default app is good as Gcam.

First time watching this channel! This guy did awesome job comparing these three models. I was trying to decide between the S22 and S21. After this, I am pretty sure I will go with the S22 (unless I find an extra amazing deal on the S21). Keep up the good work!

I'm also happy that they finally brought back optical zoom. The "hybrid zoom" is purely a digital crop since it's literally a 29mm camera with 64MP to crop into.

The results will be similar, the 64mp was an F2.0, the 3x is F2.4, if the light is not ideal the S22 will crop the main 50mp sensor. The ideal would have been to have a 3x of 12 or 40mp.

I too was surprised, coming from the S21 and having ordered the S22, that the telephoto lens would lower so drastically from 64mp all the way to 10mp. I swear these phone mfgs make such weird decisions every year, but I'm convinced they aren't just foibles along the way. They upgrade some things and not others, so that next year another "upgrade" can be made to fix the misstep from the year prior.

@@renefigueroa5734 yep but a 40mpx 3x image, even with a 0,8 sensor pixel pitch, would've required a periscope lens. Both S21 and S22 already sit at around 6mm lens focal lenght

Hey great video man, only recommendation I have is for you to upload these types of videos in 1440p or 4k since there's so much detail that can't really be seen in a 1080p video

From what I'm seeing the gap that separared different phone's cameras is starting to fade and finally everyone can start having a decent camera phone in their pocket for less than 1,000 dollars... Hello brother, this phone is 10.000 TL in Turkey and the minimum wage for a 1-month worker is 4000 TL. Buying this phone is like an invaluable product and you're buying it after a long struggle, I'm planning to buy an s21 or iphone 12 I don't know what to buy. If you were me, which phone would you buy?

My Exynos 21 Ultra often blows the exposure up too much in woodland scenes for instance. I am always using the manual exposure lock to get the results I want.

It will scratch fairly easily. Victus is only good for stopping the screen from smashing on drops.

Videos like this are needed! Watching on my S20 and feel great. Given the Android 12 update, there isn't a reason for me to upgrade. I'm amazed my device can even keep up.

I'm on the S20 as well, and yes it still keeps up! But fortunately I would say because it's only two years old and has received all the software upgrades so far! I'm on those videos just out of curiosity. For me, the expandable storage is an essential feature. As for the cameras, the pictures I take still look pretty amazing! But I do have to admit that next to the S22, it falls behind is several situations...

A phone that old isn't really worth comparing, the S10 would already be 3 years old so you'd definitely want to be upgrading to the newer phones at that point.

Thank you for the great comparsion! S22's telephoto has around 13% less optical magnification than S21 but seems the newer sensor compesate it with a much greater light sensibility hence less exposure times and less blurryness could you upload these shots uncompressed somewhere on the internet?

It doesnt have less magnification S21 telephoto was 64MP at 1.1x zoom S22 telephoto is 10MP at 3x zoom

@@user-rj3qc2kx1i optical magnification is given by pixel dimension and optical focal length. S21 has a way bigger sensor than S22 but smaller pixel dimension (= more magnification). For the zoom you can think S21 is only using a chunk as little as the S22 sensor. S21 tele is a 2,7x optical magnification vs its main camera, while S22 tele is around 2,4x the S21 main camera. (Keep in mind zoom is a relation between cameras) We can see S21 having a little more details here on 3x in daylight, and this is how it should be in a stable and illuminated environment. Hence why I asked for the uncompressed images

In this specific phone comparison (s21 vs s22) no one on the entire internet ever uses the full 64mpix mode of the s21, why? It is a great feature that no other phone on the market has (like having two main cameras, one 12mpix and the other 64 for better details and sharpness)

We will find that many of the software enhancements on the S22 Ultra will filter down to the S21 Ultra via software updates @Giannis so you may find yourself with two phones with very little between them camera wise several months from now.

S20 still holds up, the improvements are so marginal and use case specific that camera is not a good reason to upgrade. Please do a S10 vs S22 camera comparison too.

Camera from S20 is still very good and still lens are better than in the mid models smartphones. S20 also have got telephoto lens who haven't for example Motorola Moto Egde 40.

Since the S22 has a larger sensor, the differences are minimal and almost invisible in most cases. the only difference is in the telephoto camera .... it's not worth giving money and go to s22 because of almost nothing

Should I get the s20 or the Pixel 6 if I'm mostly looking at the cameras. I could get both at almost the same price but I don't know if the telephoto on the s20 is better than the digital zoom on the pixel 6. I almost don't see a reason to get the Pixel because s20 has: telephoto, 1440p, 120hz samsung panel, SD card slot, etc. Anyone have experience with both?

I would say go for the S22 if you want a future proof phone. S20 is also really good but it won't last as long as the S22.

Let us call this part 1 and the next with close up images, part 2? 🙂 Dont' think i would trade in a 20 or 21 for a 22 if I resently bought one of them but I have a S9 with +3 years on it so I will get the regular S22 soon. Best size and form of the 3 if u ask me but that's individual preference.

I think it's adorable, but battery lasts more on the other two. Depends how you use it... if that doesn't bother or interfere with you, then there's nothing to think about. (Just upgraded from S9 *4 years* to S22 ultra, but haven't activated it yet. Trying to figure out if I'm keeping it or not.)

what I've noticed is u can reach s22 ultra with old series like note 8 or s10 by changing the settings and using the pro mode but in default as u go newer u can better
