@malgspremium bro ik it's 4 months late but he'll yeah it is I live practically in the middle of absolutely no where this thing got signal in the damn woods
Just ordered a Lavender S23 plus today. I had a 6 year-old S7 that literally died completely. I feel a bit strange with no phone for 2 days til it comes in, but actually looking forward to it. Price was a but steep.
Congrats on your new S23 Plus! Was just telling another viewer that even with occasional deals here and there, I would not feel bad at all buying this phone at full price. It’s just such a complete package. Enjoy the massive upgrade you just made and enjoy these couple days of being unplugged 😛
Hi, same settings on the DeLorean, my S7 has currently well deserved a vacation 😅 I'm torn between the S23 and S23+, so I'm interested in your feeling if you've been using the S23+ for a while. What do you think of the transition from the S7 ? Not too bulky and heavy ? Also, do you find the screen sharp and pleasant enough ? As the PPI is lower than on the base S23 and other models that have a higher resolution than 1080p
I have bought the regular S23 recently, I am very happy with it as well. Switched from the S21 and the battery life difference is huge between these 2. They finally got rid of the exynos chips for their flagships and thats a wise move. The reason I went for the S23 is because I cannot stand anything that's bigger than 6'1 inch , also I want premium performance, build quality and good battery life. The S23 got it all
It really is such a powerful offering in the most comfortable package. I’m personally also glad the base S23 is glass again, though I know some didn’t mind the plastic of the S21. The S23 is simply the most complete, premium, quality, feature-packed device you can get in that size. I know we all wish these flagship phones were a little cheaper, but the S23 is an amazing value when you really examine the smartphone landscape objectively.
@@esthetech I agree with this statement. I didn't mind the plastic back, but ofc I prefer the glass one. Easier to keep it clean. I paid the full price for the S23 but I didn't burst a tear for the price because it is more premium than the previous generations
Same for me with this S23+. Besides, Samsung‘s trade-in program this year was not nearly as good as in past years. So people were not saving as much as they used to on the S23 series anyway.
@@notafan9774 You can't stand anything bigger for carrying in the pocket or for using? I actually like 6,5" phones when i use but i hate them in my pocket, heavy and too big, and opposite with 6" phones, i love them to carry but everything is cramped when using, and also way more missclicks on the keyboard. The reason i can't decide which one to buy, s23 or the plus. Btw did you get 128gb or 256gb?
Hi, if I can ask, not too bulky and heavy according to you ? Also, do you find the screen sharp and pleasant enough ? As the PPI count is lower than on the base S23 and other models that have a higher resolution than 1080p
I came to S23 Plus from xiaomi 11T and i have to say this probably the best phone i ever used the software is so stable and fast and those timely updates wow , i definitely can't say the same about xiaomi .
Very good review. I appreciate your calm and articulate presentation without the hype of so many YT reviews. You get straight to the point and cover all the important stuff for prospective buyers. Much appreciated! My trusty old S7 finally died 😢and I want to upgrade to the S23+. I have the same feeling though as you that the S23 is a bit small and the S23+ a bit big. I prefer smaller phones I can easily operate one handed but I use my phone for maps and navigation a lot so these days need the bigger screen, greater storage and better battery life of the S23+. Samsung are doing a decent deal here in Australia - the S23+ with 256GB for AUD$1155 (about USD$750).
I really appreciate the compliment, and thank you for watching! Seems quite a few folks are coming over from the S7 series. The S23 reminds me more of the S10e in terms of size and design than it does the S20 or S21 for instance. I do think that’ll be a bit small for a lot of people these days unless you use a case that’s on the bulkier side. The good news is the S23 is markedly improved over the S22 in terms of battery life. The bad news is you still might get battery anxiety in a use case like yours, and that display is on the smaller side relative to phones these days like you mentioned. That deal for the S23 Plus sounds very solid, and I agree that it’s probably the one to go for, not just for your use case but probably the majority of people. I think you’ll get used to the size pretty fast, and at least it’s a lot more comfy to hold and pocket than the Ultra. I also have the 256GB variant and it’s been much more than enough for me.
@@esthetech I did get the s23+ in the end and I am pleased I did. The size is actually fine I have found. I got used to it quickly and when you actually have it in your hand (as opposed to videos and photos) it seems smaller and a practical size.
Bought it 3 weeks ago and this device is top notch. Everything is amazing.. Not one thing is on this S23 Plus bad. Best regards from me The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Hi. Yes wouldn't have minded it(S23 base), being 6'2, or 6'3 at most! This I believe will happen, if Samsung ditch the Plus size in the future! I saw both the base and plus in store, and felt that the Plus was a bit to heavy and big. Also not as compact. If the S23 base still had poor battery life, would've went for S23 Plus. S23 Plus is a good phone, but not at the current asking price!
You earned a subscriber. Really liked your calm and to-the-point presentation. I am considering getting the S23+. Can you tell me if there is a big difference in person due to the display PPI difference between this and S23? And one more thing, why no one is shooting any of those cinematic videos with S23/+ like iPhones or even S23 ultra? Can it still compete with those phones in this segment?
Thank you, sir. Yes, there is a marginal PPI difference between this and the base S23. Nothing that I personally would really notice, but it’s 425 ppi on the S23 and 393 ppi on the S23+. Video is excellent on these devices, especially the S23 Ultra. However, the iPhone has a 24fps option which makes a difference in getting that cinematic effect. Samsung really needs to add that IMO. Lowest option is 30fps.
Thanks for the review. I was hesitating between the plus and the ultra, but I think the plus is more suitable for me. The stylus and the better camera are not worth the extra 200 bucks.
Absolutely. The Ultra is fantastic, but the extras are kind of niche. The Plus still gives you more than almost any other flagship but the Ultra, plus it’s more comfortable to handle. Thank you for watching.
I'm still on the fence of either the Plus or the Ultra. Currently have the s22 Ultra. Kinda ready for a change of sizes for a change. But I'll definitely miss tbe Ultra and the WQHD+ and how smoothe this screen is but also flat screen might not crack as easy when dropped.
It’s a legitimate tech conundrum, and first world problem lol. The plus will be just as smooth. I think most would get used to the slight change in resolution quickly, maybe even not notice, but everyone is different with that. Definitely a lot easier to one-hand and I think visually the symmetrical bezels are very appealing.
The S23+ is as smooth as the Ultra, as they have same max refresh rate at 120hz and same specs. About the WQHD+, I had an S9+ with WQHD and FullHD: kept switching between the two and couldn't see the difference. Eventually I settled on FullHD as it preserves a bit of battery life. The size of the Ultra is one of the major points you should consider: for many, that's way too big to be practical in everyday life (one-hand use and pocket), and some users who got it actually regret their choice for that very reason. I personally went with the S23+, but if you absolutely need the S-pen and extra zoom, then the Ultra is for you.
Hi, same settings on the DeLorean, my S7 has currently well deserved a vacation 😅 I'm so torn between the S23 and S23+, my hands are rather small so I have the same feelings that a size in between would have been nice. So, I'm interested in your feeling if you've been using the S23+ for a while. What do you think of the transition from the S7 ? Also, do you find the screen sharp and pleasant enough ? As the PPI count is lower than on the standard S23 and other models that have a higher resolution than 1080p.
I personally got the s23 plus. I personally cant stand a curved display. It drives me up a wall when the screen curves. And i put screen protectors on all my phones and it is more when you have a curved screen. But it is a little beast for an android phone
Personally, I am finding the sides really slippery. I didn’t have this problem with my S21. If you slap a case on it the case probably has enough texture to give you good grip, so its not a major issue.
I got it for £699 the 256 version. It was £150 off and £200 to trade in any phone. I purchased my OP11 for £360, so to get £350 off the original price of S23+, could not be happier!
Certainly the prices will slowly drop with time. I would keep an eye out at least once a week. Prices should be at least slightly lower by Black Friday. I’m loving the S23+, and that’s also after using the Ultra.
I also have the A54 now the 256GB Awesome lime version as a second phone to play with and for work and it's really a little more than a midrange phone! It's smooth the 120hz refresh rate works and feels the same as my S23, sometimes i think why would you buy a flagship if you almost can have the same experience with a midrange device like this for half of the price?
You’re right, in terms of shear value, the A54 is superior. Weirdly, and I can’t quantify this, I’ve noticed that things like 120hz on a Samsung midranger somehow isn’t as smooth as 120hz on a Samsung flagship. I know it doesn’t make sense but I noticed it on the S20FE vs. the S21 for example. Haven’t tried the A54 so I don’t know if that’s still a thing.
@@esthetech Yeah there's a difference i notice it too with the A54 but the difference between the price gap is to big compared to the 120hz difference in smoothness between the two devices! 👍
Yeah I thought about getting the Galaxy a54 but then I thought I'd check out the used market on the s23 Plus and I got a mint condition Galaxy s23 Plus 512 gig for $650 and I thought I think I like this better. But I get you the a54 is a good phone for its price and it has an SD card support which would be nice
I had the plus but decided I wanted the ultra because of camera and spen the plus is a beast too amazing battery and overall just a great phone I do recommend it
Great video. Last Samsung I had was s21 was great, made the switch to iPhone and got a 13 pro, now I don’t think I will go back to android I just find iOS smoother and less buggy. I do however miss some features on my samsung.
Thanks for watching. That’s understandable. I will say the S23 lineup is super smooth, and I find about the same amount of bugginess as I do on iOS. However, despite the absence of stutter or lag, Samsung hasn’t quite equaled Apple on the animation front yet.
I don't get why people don't just use WhatsApp 🤷🏼♀️ in the UK it's all everyone uses, we never use normal Messages, even people on iPhones use it, iMessage is pretty much pointless here tbh. But I know other countries don't use it as much.
@@hanfran89 Unfortunately iMessage is used as a walled garden and status symbol by Apple. Even though Android has had RCS for several years now, Apple will not bend and will force all non-iOS messages to use sms only. I completely agree, that everyone should just switch 3rd party app like WhatsApp, Telegram, or Signal. Again Apple fans love to maintain their status of superiority
@@user-uw6zf1qq9fYou do realize that Google Messenger has been operating on RCS not sms for a while now. Apple is the one who down grades an incoming android message to sms. Android to Android is full RCS.
Very nice briefing ... im actually making up my mind to go for it. The only issue is the prevailing camera blur or banana blur issue.. any comments on that in your unit??
Hi, thank you. I don’t know if I’m just not noticing it but I’ve never seen such a thing on my unit. Wish I could give you more info but it’s hard for me to comment on an issue I’m not having.
People forget it's a PHONE and not a CAMERA 😂🙄 If they want the best pictures they should should just by a camera 🙄 I ordered my S23+ a few days ago, hopefully it arrives just before 4th of July
What to choose? I use to have small phones, but all friends recommend bigger. Better to watch, see it. Bigger longer battery. If price is not a problem can size can be a problem?
It’s the biggest dilemma I have every year when these phones come out. The answer is different for each person. I can say for me, I always preferred smaller phones as well but within a week or two, I was comfortable with the Plus. The Ultra is definitely too big for comfort for me. I don’t regret choosing the Plus over the smallest S23.
Hi, same dilemma for a while.. My S7 has currently well deserved vacations but I'm so torn between the S23 and S23+ as my hands are rather small. I don't know if I will find the S23+ too bulky and heavy 😩 Did you manage to choose ?
@l.3386 just for call smaller is better but to watching and using plus is better. I also picked 23+ battery is awesome is I have to use to bigger size.
I would go S22 Plus, personally. The extra display resolution doesn’t really make a difference for me, I don’t really use the S-Pen, and I much prefer the size and design of the Plus. As far as the processor goes, benchmark tests aside, I don’t think you’ll notice a difference in day-to-day use between them.
i am lowkey confused between the S23+ or Ultra..... like both are similar but way too different too. I'm more of a photo and video taker and do art stuff and stay on my phone for long but s23ultra seems too much of a commitment rather than the plus. i have a s9 and it's dying now with the amount of usage I have done to that. but my dilemma is still the S23plus or the S23ultra?
Let me ask you this: Would you be using both hands with the S23+ anyway? Typically the barrier to the Ultra for most people is the size. But even the S23+ is a bit big for some. Especially with a case on it. Unless you’re going to be enjoying one-handability on the Plus your use case honestly sounds more like an Ultra one. Superior camera in some situations, higher screen resolution if you set it to QHD, and most importantly as an artist the incredible S-Pen experience. Which, as you probably know, can also be used to take your photos without a timer or touching your phone. Put it this way, I don’t take a ton of photos or draw much, but if the Ultra was a bit smaller and designed like the Plus, even I would shell out the extra cash for that.
Thank you. It’s close, but overall I prefer the S23+. The Pixel might be a smarter phone, but the Galaxy still does considerably more, and I prefer the design. But it would also depend on which features you’ll use exactly. And whether you like doing certain things manually, or prefer it all automated.
Hi Jen, the phone uses a USB-C connection, standard among most flagship devices including iPhones now, starting with the 15 series. So any wired headphones will require a headphone jack to USB-C adapter or a straight USB-C connection.
@@esthetech I mean I suppose. Only thing that makes me question it is phones like oneplus 11 but the social media app support and camera quality make it more appealing for me
Hi, the wallpaper is called Adventure5977. If you can’t find it, email me at the address in my About section and I’ll be happy to reply with the wallpaper. As for screen on time, I have been topping 6 to 6 1/2 hours, with always on display always on. It has been beating my iPhone 14 Pro in that regard, though the iPhone is still winning when it comes to standby time.
I have an S8 and was worried about upgrading to the newer Samsung phones for the loss of SD card slot and headphone jack.... that is till found a 512gb phone in the S23+. Yes still does not have a headphone jack but can always purchase bluetooth headphones, any suggestions to decent and not overly priced ones in the UK. Think in the next couple of months may have a look at getting one, must admit like the green colour but always use a flip case on phones for simple reason of keeping bank cards etc in
Thank you for watching, Tony. I think you’re going to notice quite a massive upgrade. The high refresh rate screen alone makes it feel like a new generation phone compared to what you’re jumping from. As for buds, not sure how cheap you want to go without sacrificing some audio quality, but for me, the life hack is to just get an older version of Samsung’s own Galaxy Buds. They just work so well with the phone and everything can be customized in the Wear app. I would go for original “Samsung Galaxy Buds,” not the more expensive newer versions. They can be had for $60 or $70 US now, maybe cheaper. Sound quality is very good. I’m sorry, I’m not entirely familiar with the UK market, but I would imagine it’s not vastly different in terms of pricing and availability.
The headphone jack was my worry but then came across a 'headphone jack adapter to USB-C adapter.' I refuse to use bluetooth earphones. I too use an S8 and now feel after 5 years to upgrade.
I need decent phone mostly for common daily use like browsing and video stream with good battery backup ( no gaming) S23 will suffice or should I get S23+
The S23 is fantastic but the S23 Plus will offer a bit more battery life. If battery is a significant concern for you and you don’t have regular access to charging, consider the Plus instead. Though the S23 sounds like it may suffice for you, you don’t want to have battery anxiety on those days you’re cutting it close, especially if you don’t have easy access to charging. The S23 Plus will keep you comfortable battery wise and you might enjoy streaming videos on that bigger display.
That’s what I was confused between, bought both before settling on green a week later and sending back the cream one. My reasoning: the cream was too white and not goldish enough, and the green mostly looks graphite in most lighting and angles. I haven’t regretted the decision.
Thank you. I just chose a custom color for the quick panel using the Theme Park app from the Galaxy Store. For the wallpaper, feel free to email me at the address in my About section and I’ll reply with it.
I don’t think it will be a big difference that you won’t quickly get used to. If you were coming from the S10e, that might be a bit of a different story. The standard S23 reminds me of the S10e. I had a standard S10 as well at one point. I’d go for it.
I wish I got the ultra for the bigger screen size but I'm happy with the plus coming from the iphone 13 max but it's whatever I like bigger screen size since I'm visually impaired 20/200
Honestly, an S22+ for that price is a much better value. The difference between the two are marginal but noticeable, though nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary at all. The S23+ is just a slightly more refined version of the S22+. They both have the same main goodies. Can even take those fun moon pics.
Hi, I noticed that my S23 plus has a factory antivirus from McAfee. Do you think you need additional protection such as from Bitdefender, Norton or Eset? Thank you.
Battery on that device is noticeably better than on the base S22. I do wish it was just slightly bigger, as the size reminds me of the S10e. If you’re not a heavy mobile gamer or are but have easy access to charging, go for it. I’d recommend the 256 GB model so you get the faster data transfer.
@@esthetech Ah ok thanks. I'm asking as I've been looking at a used s23+ for a really good deal, I've been told its a year old, should I take it or would it be a waste?
That’s true, they usually depreciate in price making them an even better value than they already are. Surprised they haven’t gone down in price as fast this time. Perhaps at the six month mark as you said.
If I understand what you’re trying to do, that depends on which app you are using. For example, in Spotify, there is a Crossfade option in the app’s settings.
Peace and blessings to you. I purchased 2 Samsung Galaxy S23 plus in black color. I'm satisfied with my purchase. I highly recommend Samsung over Motorola.
Can’t go wrong with either. Though the S23+ is my daily driver, I do still use the 14 Pro every day, mostly as my work phone. We’re fortunate to even have the choice of buying one or the other. Are you liking it?
@@esthetech yeah very responsive and reliable phone and camera as well the color is good too mine is deep purple thats what apple shine the build quality and design and color choices
That is strange. Do you think it’s just your unit? Sounds like an autofocus issue. Dumb question perhaps, but is the lens completely clean? I accidentally touch it sometimes which can leave fingerprints.
@@esthetech I think it's my unit ngl and Samsung doesn't care it makes me sometimes want to go back to iphone 😂 but I'm really like the phone other than that
That’s true, unfortunately. Samsung‘s customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Quite frustrating. However, their self repair program/kits have received praise. I’m not sure if perhaps you can repair the camera that way.
The Samsung exclusive “graphite” is what I’d describe as a standard grey with a matte black chassis. The one I’m physically reviewing is the “botanic green,” which in person looks mostly graphite with hints of army green in some angles and lighting.
