You skipped other AI features the Pixel 8 Pro can do that Samsung cannot like Call Screening, Hold for Me, much improved talk to text through Google Assistant , etc. Also the Pixel has updated and rolled out more AI features since S24 series launched. Samsung also put a disclaimer in saying AI features are free through 2025 indicating there could be some kind of charge for AI features after that date. From articles I have read and videos watched, Google is collaberating with Samsung so it's Google's "AI" that Samsung is using.

Pixel for sure at the price point. Far better camera, more fluid and since Google is the one powering all the AI they're always going to have the same features as Samsung, if not more.
I want cameras to advance to show closer to the eye details and texture. Not more digital processing to further hide those details and blur everything with smoothing and gloss to be further away from what we actually see. Something more real just looks better. More beauty in it. Otherwise the internet is full of this and oversaturation. We practically gone animated. I'm not against animation or some cool AI made stuff but that stuff isn't supposed to be real because it isn't.
Pixel 8 PRO: fails in managing Overheating issue.. i tried to seek help from Google chat support but no use.. They indirectly said "there's no solution for pixel 8 PRO heating issue!" But kept on giving common tips like keeping brightness low , minimising the use of data! Etc.. If this is so then we have to turn off the phone to get rid of Overheating! Then whats the use of owning a flagship phone!😅 I think Google phones are only meant for colder places like Canada(where Google phones r sold well!) Not recommended if ur using where the temperature is over 25°C !!!!😅😅 Using pixel 8 pro nonstop since yesterday (two days since purchase) and experiencing heating issue! Even at normal use Using chrome browser RU-vid At indoor condition But phone maintains to be warm at all condition.. Brightness is at just 30% No graphical or colourful wallpaper Just using complete black wallpaper! And phone is still warm when screen is on! On what condition its cool/normal?: only when i turn off the screen 😂
All they phones over heat I have the 8 and it's over heat at times slow charging echoes on phone calls etc after updating still the same thing 😔 this is my last pixel .the pixel 7a is good I never had these problems
@@leevonallenjr9762 few days ago someone had suggested that not to go with pixel until they launch one with snapdragon and skip tensor g3 I ignored it because I was only concentrating on pixel camera (smooth camera and great pictures obviously).. But for a phone it's not just limited! Heating issue is not normal. Google support is dramatic and unprofessional! I'm looking for return & refund from the seller. Or else it will be my last pixel phone.. :)
Thats the reason why i switch to the S24+ I come from de Pixel 7pro, and my hands just gave up, with simple task like instagram :( i love the way of pixel, interface and cameras, but the heat... Is the heat
Y'all do realize that Samsung makes Google's phones right? Pixel screens are Samsung, the cameras are Samsung, modem is Exynos 5300 which is made by Samsung, and the Pixel's Tensor chip is a generic version of Exynos 2300. You might as well buy a Samsung phone. I went from P8P to a S24+ and i gotta say... Samsung is definitely more reliable. The 2 P8P phones i got had terrible connectivity issues. Which would bounce from WiFi to 5G constantly and made it have terrible battery life after 2 weeks. The battery would also drain so fast while the phone was on standby (screen off without Always on display). Instagram would drain the battery 30% and that's with the app set to "restrict background usage." I was a long time Pixel user. From Pixel 5a, to 6 Pro, to 7 Pro, to 8 Pro... Loved the software, hated the hardware... Very unreliable! I'll go back to Pixel when they start using TSMC, the company who makes Snapdragon chipsets, when they make Google's Tensor chip in 2025. Cuz in my opinion,i think the Tensor chip is awesome in software but terrible in battery efficiency and connectivity.
The problem with this review and several others is that you're not taking the photo at exactly the same point at exactly the same time or at least nearly, You need to attach them to a board and trigger the shutters via Bluetooth so both cameras are taking the photo at exactly the same time and getting nearly exactly the same image. Otherwise Any minor differences could just be down to the different shots you took in slightly different positions and lighting. A channel as large as this should know better.
Watching on my S24+ SD gen 3, came from a pixel 6 pro. Phone feels lighter an a hair thinner and def faster. Miss the hold for you and a few other features but the trade off is worth it. Pics are good. Pixel good? Not sure yet. Sammy is weaker at night shots but more vivid in the day if that is how you like your photos.battery and charging speed also massive W for the Galaxy. Screen is gorgeous. All in all worth the upgrade for me. Oh,add in the brightness... I no longer have to squint at the screen in any day light. Also dl Gboard.. Sammy keyboard is hot garbage.
If you want to capture pictures of moving subjects(e.g., kids, pets etc), mostly blurry free, the Pixel 8 Pro is a no brainer. Samsung phones typically have a slow shooter. Plus, the Pixel Call Assistant/Call Screening software is the best on the planet.
Pixel is just camera. It does not have a powerful processor, the network service sucks, and overheating is like one of its intended features. For a complete phone, I would always recommend samsung (customizations + AI + processing)
Given that Google powers most of what Galaxy AI has to offer, I am sure Google will make sure they remain one step ahead. Google also has a lot more experience, data, and expertise in the space. Sadly for Google, they will lose this race not because of Galaxy AI's features. They will lose this because they are simply not widely available. Samsung is bringing AI to the masses. You can buy the S24 in pretty much every country in the world. The Pixel is only available in a handful of countries.
Exactly!! I really want the pixel but it's not available where I live. And if I manage to get it here somehow, there won't be any support and some of the featured won't work😢
Samsung Camera is crap! Every year I get Samsung's latest flagship and then sell it due to the shutter lag issue they're not able to fix! Same with 24 Ultra - to me this is a absolute no go. Features are good but Google remains Camera King at least with Photographs (but even Video on 8 pro is more than competitive now)
Opino igual , tengo el pixel 8 , compré el s24ultra y tuve que venderlo . Mi pixel 8 el pequeño hace mejores fotos que el ladrillo s24 ultra . Además el software de pixel es mucho mejor .
So why not buy a camera? Pixel may have a better point and shoot camera but that's it. Samsung has better screens, better battery, more reliable, you can actually make phone calls where Pixel modems are extremely weak. Pixels can not handle heat issues. If you shoot in raw mode on the Samsung and actually know what you are doing there is no comparison.
Definitely makes more sense comparing these two phones as they're both at the same price point. S24 Ultra costs almost $2000 in Canada making it $600-700 more then the 8 Pro, I guess its up to consumers to decide if the advantages the S24 Ultra offers are worth it lol
Circle to Search would probably be the only AI feature I would use. The translation AI features are nice but I dont know a lot of people who speak different languages. Taking photos is for capturing the moment, why would I want to edit them?
Despite the tinting on the Galaxy, which one takes photos where the results most closely match what you'd see with the naked eye? Computational photography is a great buzzword but I want a picture that most closely matches the way things are.
This is a bit off-topic from the video, but if you want the most accurate to life pictures, Sony is probably your best choice (I'd suggest taking a look at them if you've never considered Sony!)
I was so confused if i get the s24 plus or pixel 8 pro. However, when i saw them live, i didn't like how the pixel looks like. It looks cheap, with a plastic cover on the back. Google should work better on the design.
Samsung literally has all of its AI from Google, and in the next Pixel Feature Drop, the Pixel is getting those new AI features the Galaxy 24 phones came with.
Very good video. Thank you for sharing. Google has lost his leadership for AI ! By owning the Pixel 8 Pro and the Samsung S24+, I can compare them directly. I think that Samsung takes the lead for integrating AI smoothly inside a phone. On daily basis, I prefer my S24+ with the AI in messaging, direct translation, summary in article in the web. Google is far behind. I hope that the Pixel 9 will have new functionalities, but for now, I stuck with my S24+ 😉
To bad it's not local to the phone and relies on the samsung servers, then after a year it will be a subscription, no can do!!!!!!! I still don't even understand AI, I personally think it's for lazy people not to mention it's a program developed by humans and I really have a hard time trusting someone else's interpretation. I'll never go with it.
They actually answered that the current ai features will remain free. It's just that more advanced features will be introduced and those will maybe be subscriptions
Niiice... the half-year old Pixel 8 almost staged a performance coup and nearly knocked the brand spanking new but not-so-star-shining Samsung out of the galaxies!!! Lets wait for the Pixel 9
true but not really? It really depends cause Pixel is only better in AI aspects, Im not quite sure how google fair with samsung in terms of other features, processing power, build quality etc.
Watching with on my 24+ from the s10+ not as much of a difference tbh. If they made an s10+ with 120hz I would buy it every year. I I was going to get the pixel but the optical reader was the deal breaker.
@@khylee72 True what's funny is that google has face ID too but won't bring it back. But build quality wise the pixel 8 pro takes it more comfortable to hold not saying the s24 plus isn't and to my eye it's screen looked better and brighter than s24 and I held them side by side😂.
My Pixel 8 pro has massive battery problems with Spotify. It is always running in the background and keeps draining the battery, without playing any music...
@@cascarification It is the Spotify app, you havd to set power management for the app and in Android itself, but every time the app updates, it resets power consumption default. RU-vid premium is pretty good.
I know I'm super late. Since Samsung makes the display screen for Google and basely also there chip and some more stuff obviously they not doing it for free. So Google help Samsung with there AI that's it. Samsung didn't do it by there yourself. Nah
Idk, I think the galaxys24+ may be better. I don't mind the photos at all, and I don't care about AI features. The s24+ looks really nice, and the Samsung store makes financing easy and affordable for all.
are you joking ? Pixel 8 pro camera exceeds Samsung S24 ultra camera and you're comparing it to plus. I think you don't know anything about Camera. Let me explain: when you compare camera start with Image Sensor size, Pixel Pitch Size, focal length - why ? because mega pixel is just outer layer which keeps getting mapped to these terms. a higher MP camera connected to small image sensor is like a big (tea pot) with small opening. 😂
for those who want even more simplicity: just go to stores open front camera - Pixel 8 pro allows ultra wide (1x, 0.7 x) and any Samsung Ultra phone only allows wide (1x). I don't think any phone in US can compete on Camera with Pixel. where Pixel sucks is its choice of modem and exynos (different chapter for different time).
You google fan boys are slow, the s24+ has a better chip set with the snapdragon gen3, way better and brighter display, better design, way better battery, the camera is the only thing better yet video is trash, the S24+ isnt about the best cameras 😂, its about everything else,if you want rhe beat camera's buy a Sony or the S24 ultra that has better zoom and better video, pixels dont hold their value, best buy has refurbished pixel 7pros for 350 bucks 😂
lol when huawei phones first came out in Singapore where I grew up, I hated them. then i liked some of their phones’ cameras AAAAAND its foldable looked really nice at first. now we don’t cover them. so i don’t really get why my speaking Chinese has to do with “why” i was a “big big fan of Huawei”? lol
