Samsung S24 Ultra - Galaxy S24 Ultra display is giving us some dull colors. And a lot of people are concerned about s24 ultra display. But I have a good news and some fixes for you to try on your galaxy s24 ultra. And you shouldn't be worry about the hardware of s24 ultra.

Are you facing the similar issue on your S24 Ultra and which feature do you like the most on s24 ultra?

You talk about the PWM on S24 Ultra as if it is some kind of state of the art feature, when Honor Magic 6 Pro has 3840Hz PWM, Vivo X100 Pro and Oppo Find X7 Ultra 2160Hz PWM, which is a must ot have in a flagship. PWM is a requirement for the health of the smartphone user, not a gimmick like those so-called AI features. Only Samsung and Apple can sell fanboys 1000E + phones with low PWM which can give them health issues. Luckily the Chinese brands are offering real features, good cameras with 1 inch sensors, Zeiss or Hasselblad lens coating and processing, fast charging, High PWM BOE top of the line displays, chargers and phone cases.

You can add contrast in developer options. It's near animation duration scale. There's low medium and high.

The grain is far worse than the color saturation. You might need to be in a dark room to see it, but take a look at any dark color especially dark gray on your screen and you will see that there is a static grain over the entire screen.

I'm noticing that. And my s21 ultra did not have this problem! If this doesn't get fixed, I'm not keeping this phone. I cannot take watching dark videos on this phone, it's really depressing.

I can live with dull colors. But this grains on dark areas, specially on grey areas. Its frustrating. There are so much grains when the light is low and u look at grey areas.

The New M13 panel is newer than 15PM panel, much higher PWM, as for the display, the software is coming in a patch so still probably a while for that, along with camera fixes

@@DKHDOfficial Hello DKHD team, yes we are also anticipating the update, however it is likely the update is going to be the FEB patch as I said it was moved from APR to FEB, but that is the earliest that is security and features patch SSP1, 1 is first patch, security update to feb 2024 as well as features patch, should fix the display, performance, any bugs, cameras and more. not every patch is also a features patch some only come with security updates, if its an OS update is a major yearly features update or if its an in between ONE UI patch its also a features patch. at this time there's no exact date or promise of this update even with the complaints, I have already inputted a escalation to figure out when it will be rolling out but expect FEB. please stay tuned for that thank you

The latest Build on the s24 series is causing the display tuning error, the DCIP3 coverage is around 85% not full like sRGB, update coming

@@nttinvisNot according to the posts above supposedly from Samsung - the screen is how it's meant to be apparently! I don't like it I have to say - my S22 Ultra is much better so I think I will send my S24U back - colour is not vivid enough for me but it's horses for courses I guess ...

Facing same issue but even on camera, I didn't like its screen. I tried everything to change in settings but it's not going away and it does impact Camera as well. I am selling my Samsung S 24 ultra for this reason.

There's video's out there of the front display scratching up & the back also while these reviewers were being very careful with their devices. I just keep a great screen protector & case on mine.

what about the notification sound ? i have, i think, a bug regarding notifications, it's ringing like i've received a notification, but nothing is showing and it's doing this like from 2 to 2 minutes or 5 minutes in a row, just ringing. I've tried everything to resolve, but no use, it\s still doing it. Hope they resolve it with the update......it's not doing all the time, but most of the time is doing it. Does anyone have the same issue or it happened to someone ?

I'm returning my S24+. I hate the non-vivid color display, but had over issues: a weird Bluetooth bug, where the Volume Down button did not operate when playing tunes from Spotify or YT Music to a Bluetooth speaker. Reported it to Samsung 3 days ago. Also, the phone ran hot, and on the evening of Day 3, it didn't want to charge via any USB cable. I had to clean the USB port with a special miniature Q tip used for smartphones. I thought I just got a bad one. Now, I'm reading there are 20 known major issues, plus the one major (charging) and one minor (weird Bluetooth Volume Down button not responding) issue that I found. My advice: don't sit on a phone with so many bugs hoping they'll fix it. You have 15 days. TEST everything. The display issue alone, plus the known reception issues are two reasons to send it back in the 15 day return period. It's a piece of junk shipped out with little to no QC. Thanks for taking a closer look at the Display! Having same issue and hoping Samsung can make an official statement on this to confirm upcoming software updates to correct this! Meanwhile I compared with Demo Units in multiple Samsung Experience Stores and confirm that Demo Units don't exhibit this issue and they are actually brighter, with much better tonality and contrast, Firmware / Build, etc. all matching my unit😵‍💫

I think it's display sadly. It was super odd how Samsung was almost hiding the new anti reflective glass from press conferences which many people commented. Now it makes sense as they realized it's a bad screen and trying to remain quiet.... hopefully new batches bringback the older screens but I doubt it

Yep, I noticed immediately.....contacted Samsung.. they tested the phone they say it's ok....Compared with my S23 ultra, the 23 ultra has more vivid colors

Ok course they say OK because will cost them millions of pounds and dollars to call back these phones so they policy is to say it's OK while expert youtuber tested and say it is not. Mine will go back. I am just giving the 2 days to sort this mess out.

Just turn off anything that says adaptive in display settings n put it on vivid mode that's it. This is a non reflective screen there will be some difference when you compare it with S23 obviously. There's nothing wrong with the display.

It's not only washed out, but the viewing angles are terrible, too. This is on an S24+. The brightness is not higher than my old S22+, either. It honestly feels like a significant downgrade, as far as the display goes.

You are wrong. BOE still cannot pass and qualify for Apples high standard requirements. BOE tried many times but always failed to provide display to apple.

@@TomTomdog BOE doesn’t provide boosted, vibrant display like Samsung.Samsung display has so many issues, they are giving you 7 years of OS updates but using it after 1 year their display sucks..It faces green line,white line and dead issue..I am commenting here with my Galaxy phone having a pink line at the front🙂

If the antireflective is not an issue why does the colors change when you tilt the display and look at it from an angle ? Is that a software bug calculating the tilnd and the angle you look from and change colors? Lmao. Its 80% display fault and maybe 20% software

For those having display issues with their Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, they need to check that the QHD+ (320×1440) box is checked. Its default setting right out-of-the-box is FHD+ (1560x 720). To find this setting, it is three steps below the Screen Mode that has “Vivid” and “Natural.” I hope this helps.

My Note 8 screen looks better than the S24 Ultra. I actually noticed the desatuation from Note 8 to the Note 20 Ultra. I didn't really like it, but it wasn't that bad. This time around, it's horrid. It looks like an old lcd display... I'm actually thinking about returning it.

It's not a bug. It's just that they chose to keep colours accurate this time, which is great. Natural gives you the most accurate colours, and Vivid gives you a subtle saturation boost. It's not that the hardware or software are bugging out, it's just that they applied massive oversaturation on their previous devices by default, so when switching to this phone people feel like colours are worse while in reality the colours were just extremely boosted on their older phone.

I have just tested my theory by playing a downloaded HDR copy of The Super Mario Bros. Movie on my S24 Ultra, played with the default video player. It plays the movie perfectly in HDR and I've been able to confirm that in HDR the colours reach the full saturation levels which previously you were able to apply to all other content that's SDR. The colours are extremely vibrant and saturated in HDR, and it looks absolutely amazing. So yes, the display is still capable of everything it was before, they just chose not to oversaturate all other SDR content as well this time, and personally I'm happy they did.

I love it that finally the display is NATURAL! I had hoped for a less vibrant and saturated display and it also applied to the camera output .

The natural mode was already available previously if you preferred the natural look. The issue here is vivid mode is significantly toned down for the ones who preferred the more vibrant colors. For someone who has used samsung phones for the past 5 years, its an immediate concern because its just that washed out. I'm pretty sure our eyes will adapt in no time to the natural look if samsung doesn't provide an update, but for now, the screen is not pleasant to look at.

Thank you for making this video, all the comments had me worried. However I still liked the display when I saw it in store so knowing Samsung is working on an update that’s good news. I rocked my s23U in natural anyways. I used to like that super punchy pop but I like more accurate colors.

I can say i'm a fan boy samsung since galaxy Note 2 .. I'M NOT HAPPY WITH S24 ULTRA . My s22 ultra has a better screen quality

I have had these settings turned off and set to Vivid since it came out of the box and it still looks awful. We should all just return the P.O.S. That is the only way Samsung will wake up and stop trying to become the iPhone non of their customers want. They have been slowly reducing the color saturation on their phones starting with S22 then worse on S23 and now this abomination of a display on the S24 series. Also in terms of performance, the S24U compared to my S23U after a 20 min test, once heated up performs the same as the S23U. 3DMark WLE Stability test side by side exposes the truth. The S24U's best loop 5025, lowest loop 3256. What a huge drop. The S23U best 3832, lowest 3004, as you can see, the S23U stays more consistent with it's perf while the S24U will fall off as it gets too hot and will match the S23U perf, where is the upgrade?.

@davidbruzer Currently, I am leaning toward a return unless they release an update to solve the display issue. I will continue to evaluate the performance and heat. Right now, I don't think the S24U being faster than an S23U for maybe 15 min before the S24U gets hot and slows down to S23U speeds is worth the upgrade imo.

The S24 Ultra display is not washed out. The only thing I see between it and the S23 Ultra is that the S23 Ultra gets brighter than the S24 Ultra in normal daily use.

you are not getting Natural look and experience was already there in S series , he is talking about vivid mode...early S22 ultra & s23 ultra had more puncy, vibrant , rich colour tone very unique stand out from other devices of market which was giving awesome screen look and wallpaper display experience , i have s22 ultra and now s24 ultra ....S22 ultra feels like primium level of screen view experience but s24 ultra feels like other avg flagship or midrange look....they shouldn't tone down vivid mode.

it is a bug, thousands of posts on forums and reddit saying there base and plus model is also toned down on vivid mode. antireflective screen is not on those models so yes it's a bug samsung needs to fix and no its not the antireflective screen this theory has been proven wrong
