The tiny difference between both models doesn't justify the increasingly widening price gap between them. Yes, the S24 Ultra is definitely better in terms of display and software support in a long run, but the S23 Ultra is just as good!
I have since last Christmas S23 Ultra and i am super happy 🎉 End of march S23 series get UI 6.1 update for the AI Stuff 👍 So for me its totally enough and no need for S24 Ultra 🤷
S 24 ultra was marketed purely on AI features and seeing that 99% of these AI features are coming to older models including the s23 ultra, no need to upgrade.
@@NuclearShot because there is no need to. I had a reason to do it. I upgraded both my phone and my wife's S22U from that purchase. Was it worth it? Yes 100%. Was it needed, no. Not sure what your issue is.
I'm quite happy to stay with my S23 Ultra, especially considering most of the AI features are expected to arrive later this month. I'll probably hang on for a couple more years before I upgrade
I've just upgraded to the S24 Ultra but I also bought the S23 Ultra sim free because the spacezoom delivers superior results at high magnifications. But I find the display on the S23 Ultra to be a bit over saturated and when you turn of vivid mode it's too dull. I still have my S21 Ultra which has a better display than the S23 Ultra even on vivid mode. but the S24 Ultra has the best display of all in my opinion and it's not too oversatured on vivid mode
Just got a new S23 Ultra for half thr price of the S24 Ultra yesterday. Honestly, I having that extra cash in my account and I didn't like all the changes they made on the S24 Ultra. The cameras for example, I prefer the way the S23 Ultra proccess the photos and also having a 10x optical zoom. From 3-5x I'm fine with digital cropping. Also, the software on the S24 Ultra seems unfinished. Only thing I want from the S24 series is the 7 years of updates.
So from your opinion (everyone) in terms of camera, which one is greater and better for filming with 10x/20x esp video? I want to buy it for concert / festival needs..
I upgraded from the s23U to the s24U. I got a deal so for the upgrade it cost $150 in total, and i got a 512gb instead of a 256gb. If it was much more, i doubt I'd have taken the plunge. I can attest they are largely the same phone, but i must admit, the flat glass makes a huge difference. I used to go through loca for glass screen protectors quickly, and I was always fighting with a lifted corner. But the flat glass has none of those problems. Honestly, the curved glass was a design flaw. I didn't appreciate how big of one.
Going from a curve display to a non curve feel like a downgrade, especially how thick the phone is.. I don't use a screen protector and i don't have any problems.
I don't like the curve screen I'm glad there doing with out it.the more powerful phone is the one i got and glad i was able to.s23 is old now regardless
Great content. The s23 ultra cost less, and it's getting mist of the AI the s24 ultra has, so to me, I wouldn't upgrade to the s24 ultra. I love my s23 ultra. Maybe when the s25 ultra comes out.
Upgraded to s23 ultra December 2023. 512gb internal storage. Still a beast, it Upgraded with a.i. not too long ago. Got it cheaper off of amazon vs my carrier tmobile for the amount of storage and ram
It's difficult to go back to 5x zoom after having 10x. I have an S22 ultra and I'll likely get the S23 over the S24 for this reason although 4k 120 fps was on my wishlist.
If you have/using the s23U there's no need for an upgrade but for people like me who just decided to buy the flagship phone of samsung, s24U is just as worth as the lower price of s23U today. Been switching from different android phones and decided to go back to samsung for the processor, 7yrs software support, tougher materials, tougher screen, less reflection, more brightness and new features 😊 Edit: also bought the 512gb variant for the price of 256gb variant thru pre order 😊 also recieved a couple of updates for the last 2mos so im glad samsung keeps improving their phones.
Looking to upgrade to either the S23 Ultra or the S24 Ultra and then I hear about the Spen heating up on the S24 Ultra, then about the bottom speaker port being changed from the earlier slotted version to a more open hole like you'd have at the charging port thereby an even bigger dust or lint collector 😔,hmmm. I'd probably buy the S24 Ultra ONLY for the chipset . Right now I have the Note 20 Ultra 5g with the expandable storage being a huge win for this old of a phone , it's a beast❗AND it's the last of the true Note series. So I'll keep this phone and get hmm 🤔 IDK 🤷, any thoughts or impressions out there would be helpful 👍🫡
Hey mate, even i'm freain confused about the same which to go for !! I jave literally spend around 2 to 3 hours yetsterday at the SAMSUNG store ohh my it just get''s more tougher to decide the more longer you keep on comparing both of these devices side by side. Pricing wise yes S24 Ultra has a quite steep pricing & even the offers here in India don't seem to be that appealing whereas S23 Ultra just gels in your hand as if you've known it for a longer time !!
It did initially look to me like there was more detail in the S23, but on looking more carefully, I think that was down to sharpness. In the S24, the results were far more natural, and I feel that if you added sharpness, you would still have a much more natural photo. It took me a minute, but the S24 does look better to me. As someone who has been waiting for phone cameras to get better and closer to my DSLRs and mirrorless camera, I pick S24. I'd be really interested to see what these S24 photos looked like with a little sharpness added.
Remember the Nokia times when a flagship was the best phone of the market, by far? Yeah, welcome to 2024, now you need a video to understand if the latest phone is better than the previous year one. Surprisingly, it is highly debatable xD
I'm happy with my S22 ultra. Some ai features also updated into my phone, No need to change phone. Battery after 3 years use, still fine for me. Had all the features that I need for daily life
I want to upgrade from K20pro from 2019 to flagship. S23U is half the price of S24U in India now. Which one would be a better choice? I will use phone for at least 4-5 years, even more if it does not diet. Videos and photos of my 2 kids is priority.
My phone is Poco F3 and is still working fine. The only reason I want to upgrade to Samsung is that Samsung has an e-SIM feature. If not for this, I wouldn't even consider this overpriced piece of expensive crap. I always used to have the flagship Samsung and stopped at Note 9, probably the best Samsung ever produced. The last flagship samsung to ever have the 3.5mm jack and the expandable memory. I travel a lot and it was really convenient to have a dedicated port for sound and for charging. Also, the expandable memory allowed me to store tens of movies and hundreds of additional high res music. I also have a high end headset, which was driven beautifully by Note 9. I was so angry after that, that I decided to buy the best valued phone, Poco F3, that still works to this day. Before, I noticed that after 2 years, Samsung batteries seem to degrade noticeably, and are hardly able to keep a charge in a day, which is quite a contrast with this Poco F3 battery.
I miss the heart rate monitor on mine but I agree fully except that the cameras are better now but that is a small tradeoff IMO. I have DSLR for the good stuff.
I'm an iPhone user, but I switched to Android about two weeks ago. I bought a Samsung S23 Ultra, and I'm thrilled with the performance of the S24 Ultra, especially the battery, the camera, the S-pin, and the screen.
The ONLY reason why I would upgrade is the flat screen vs curved screen. I say that while I LOVE my screen, it got cracked from not having a full coverage case and instead using screen protectors. The only problem I'm having is no where has the same screen that I need so to get it repaired, I'd have to void my warranty unless I find a spot that has the right color to match my exclusive phone color... Thankfully it's a minor crack and hasn't really gotten worse, but it has spread more😭
Maybe, another reason for S23u could be if you do need to use legacy apps that won't get 64bit at all? As 8 Gen 3 no longer has 32bit compatibility at all. Not a lot of guys can benefit from this, though...
Bought s23U a month before with lower price,it's a excellent deal and I must say if anyone is going for s24U, must think before because you are going to pay almost double for just minor upgrades, S23U still worth to buy in 2024 for a good price
Me still wondering is I should upgrade this year or not. Because it looks like it doesn't worth the upgrade this time around. I'll just wait for the fold or s25ultra next year. Oh no it's tempting me, I think I'll just upgrade 😂😅
Both...If I Receive Them As Gifts... Otherwise Neither...My SAMSUNG GALAXY A14 5G & SAMSUNG GALAXY A23 5G Are Just As Good For A FRACTION Of The Price...
Got the s24 ultra on release date over the s23 just for one main reason. 7 frickin years of software updates over the s23 ultra which has remains 3 years .
4:54, 24 ultra too saturated, making dark area lose details compare to s23 ultra 5:02, 24 ultra makes light too bright cause loss of details in the bright area. S24 ultra too saturated and overexpose problem has been in there since the day one. It is been like downgrade somehow compare to s23 ultra.
The S23 ultra if you want a better color S24 ultra for functionality because of the flat screen and longetivity due to longer software updates of 7 years.
Still loving my S23 Ultra from last year and don't see enough significance between it and the S24 Ultra to justify the price of an upgrade so I will more than likely wait till next year for the S25 Ultra (and hopefully they finaly get rid of that hideous notch and make an under display camera).
Im upgrading because I have to , dropped that stupid 23 ultra and the screen shattered. Not fixable , thus insurance is replacing (for a 100 deductible) my phone. Apparently "no 23 ultras are available , as they stopped producing them) so I am getting a 24 Monday. IF not for that no way would I have upgraded absolutely no need its basically the same phone with tiny minor differences
You guys are funny. So you decided to place a tint on the s23 ultra video to make it look bad? Oversaturating the video color of the s24 ultra to brand it as best. We know your tricks. Those phones are the same. Difference is design and year of production.
yeah you might be thinking of 'peak brightness' which will only happen in small spots in HDR content. Your auto-brightness mode will never reach the advertised peaks. Honestly my S23U is plenty bright in direct sunlight, 1300 is plenty reminds me of advertised charging speeds. you only get that 45W for like 1 minute at the beginning of charging, and that's normal.
What is not good in s23 ultra is its screen. The PWM rate of the phone is just 240 hz. And it is sooo bad in the eyes. Got a lot of headaches when using the phone. Needs to off the adaptive brightness. S23 ultra just have 492hz
Help guys I won a customized S24 ultra phone case and I love It but the phone is stil expensive now can S23 Ultra fit S24 ultra CASE ? don't need to be perfect fit I'm good as long as it doesn't fall off 😂 thanks all ❤
Why would you? The Samsung S phones are usually great to go for at least 3 years. I'm still with my s9 plus since 2018 and only now I am starting to feel the need for a new one.. but it still does everything I need
Starting to hate samsung yes i have and S10 and a note 10 both are awesome phones but no more os and patch updates so why should i have to upgrade imagine my essential phone was getting updates faster than my samsung
