Samsung S6 Disassembly - Tear Down - Screen Replacement. I just got this Samsung Galaxy S6 and wanted to do a disassembly for you guys. This is a pretty difficult screen replacement and would most likely result in a broken display. If you are able to remove the display without damaging the AMOLED please link your video in the comments.

I successfully replaced mine and this video was very helpful, BUT do not be fooled it does look easier on here than it was. This was my first time to do this and my phones first time to be opened. Here are a few helpful hints: If you are thinking you may not need a suction cup you probably will. I used mine from my GPS, ha-ha. Here are some of the things that helped and worried me... first I was afraid of getting it to hot, It does take awhile heating it up before the glue starts to give. I have a hot air work station and found that 250F seemed to work best. Second, his idea of using playing cards worked good as well, not to open it but to keep it opened. Third, after you get the back and front off, disconnect the old battery and if you are very VERY careful you can get the old one out without having to unhook anything else. there are 2 rows on the sides of the battery from top to bottom of hot glue or tape, start at the bottom of the battery and work your way up. in total It took me about an hour, 45 minutes to get the back off and about 15 to change the battery and put it all back together. Total cost: $8.63, found the battery on eBay brand new. Good Video... Good Luck I hope this helps!

I had 2 S6's sitting around, mine with a broken screen and the boss with dead board. I saw a different tutorial first but I'm glad I watched this. You are right it's a nightmare to replace the screen on these, so I'm glad mid way I changed tactics and simply swapped the motherboard. Easy clap! Everything is held by glue and it's easy to break instead of fix. Honestly they are not worth the money, plus I feel bad for anybody in the electronic repair industry.

Excellent just opened up mine without cracking front screen whilst powered on as it fell in the bath 🙊 misses fault. Phones screen is back and now working 100% 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Load of bollocks, I have followed this and 3 other videos and the back never lifts in order to fit pick in. Ha e heated as much as I dare as not to damage. I don't believe this is foe Joe Public....off to proper repair outlet, at least it will be done right and with warranty

Helpful video, thanks. Any chance you know which of those two antenna cables are wifi vs bluetooth (red vs blue)? Have some bluetooth range issues after dropping it one too many times and am not sure if is a specific cable I need to get or if the pair that seems to be available online will take care of it.

During reassembly, do you just reheat and reuse the existing glue or do you need to replace it? Specifically the glue that holds the front of the device to the midframe and the adhesive that holds the back glass on.

Very helpful video and thanks for that! When you remove the battery tho you gotta be super careful coz you might crack the actual screen witch is right under the battery! something that I wish I had been aware of or had been mentioned in the video... I just cracked the screen :( :/

Word of caution, glass portion of the screen can easily separate from the rest of the screen assembly if you use a two sided suction pliers. I just ruined my screen because the glass and the lcd were separated. Removing the front glass from the plastic is very delicate, and it's easy to destroy the plastic film on the back of the screen assembly. Take care to avoid the ribbon cable and to not separate the glass from the rest of the screen.

Considering that I'm looking at paying a $200 deductible whether I leave the phone as is with the crack in the glass or throw it off my balcony, run it over with my car, then set it on fire, I'm not too worried about damaging the phone, so I think I'm going to give this a try. Excelent vídeo. Can you please tell me what temperature you use on your heat station in ºC? I usualy use 150ºC but it takes a while to heat enough to be able to loosen the glue.

My S6 has a crack from top right corner running down 4 1/2 cm. Will set me back £180 (USD 234l to get it fixed by a pro + warranty. I can pick this part up for under £30. No brainer, thanks for the vid.

I'd really like to know where the lower mic is located on that Charge port .Supposedly the s6 has a mic but it's clearly not visible to me . I just changed my charge port and now I have no mic sound for calls placed . I can not see a mic anywhere on the bottom of the s6 . Do these charges ports hide the mic underneath or are they on the other circuit board .

I have a samsung galaxy s6. I recently dropped it in water and the water was an inch and i left it in there for 3 sec. My phone is still good. The screen is on, the power button started working again, volume buttons work, home button works, return and history buttons work but the only thing that im concerned about is the touchscreen. It doesnt work. I tap the screen and nothing happens. As if it were frozen. Can this be fixed?

Let's say you wanted to change the colour of your S6, does the fingerprint sensor home button have to stay with the same device like with the iPhones Touch ID, therefore you'd be stuck with the wrong coloured home button?

***** great video! My s6's screen seems a bit loose. Especially at the left side right where the volume keys are. If I press it softy I can see the screen sinking towards the frame. Should I worry about this? Is it normal to be loose? The screen works fine though.

Hi, I am getting a very poor service signal after reassembly. Especially when I'm holding the bottom of the phone with my hand. I don't think the wifi or bluetooth cable has anything to do with it ? Any idea what caused loss of network service signal ? Thanks.

Hi, I've seen your videos on RU-vid and I really your help. I own a Samsung Galaxy S6, but I let it drop some water and now some features stopped working, such as: the screen rotation, the GPS signal, the step counter (of the app S Health) and the screen won't shutt off while I'm using the phone... So I dialed *#0*# and tested the sensor and they are all zeroed - not working. So I believe there's something to do with the sensor, because the accelerometer, the proximitiy sensor, the barometer, the gyroscope are not working. Do you know which part of the Galaxy S6 is responsible for the sensor? Motherboard? Charging port? Where are the sensor located? So if I would to repair it, which part should I fix? Please, need help!!!

Hi. My s6 led cover glass is not streight. The top side is more out and the bottom is noticeably more pressed into the heart rate sensor. I asked samsung service about this and they told me if it doesnt bother you its better to leave it that way because they cant change only the cover they must change housing of the phone (the aluminium one). If i want they will change it under warranty. My question is should i be bothered to tell them to change the housing or not? I also have another problem the speaker under some frequency sounds very strange like there is dust inside the speaker and it is making weird noise. Does the housing comes with a speaker or not. Because if i tell them to change the led cover they will fix 2 problems at once. Is it worth it disassembling the phone for these problems or not. Because i dont want duat inside my camera lens after the service hihi

***** Ill second what he said well done video. Looks like samsung took repaability seriously with this phone. I don't see glass only repairs really being possible with this one. Much the same as the s5 but worse in that regard. But the rest dang that sucker came apart easy. Battery being glued basically to the lcd back i a little worrisome. Or is it just glued in along the one edge of the frame?

Hey guys I got a question. So my phone Galaxy S6 fell on the ground yesterday. The LCD Broke and I can tell that by the death pixel's + there is a very small crack on the top left side of the screen so the broken lcd is confirmed. Now the thing is I've replaced alot of lcd's in the past and I know how to handdle phones so that's not a problem. The problem I have is that the phone is still under the warranty. And my phone fell down from 2.5 feet (about 50cm) and only it 's LCD cracked. The phone has no cracks the back and front glass are undamaged I also have screen protector on front and back glass. Could this still be covered by warranty? I can go to the store where I bought the phone and ofcourse not say that I dropped the phone, but make up a story. Today is sunday so they are not working, but I was just trying to get some info from you guys to see if there will be any helpful replies. The main question is could it be claimed under the warranty? Thanks for your help in advance.

Press the included tool into the small round slot nest to the sim card tray....be firm but not aggressive.

I have a big Problem. I started to downgrade my Galaxy A3 (SM-A300FU) from Android 5.0.2 to 4.4.4. with ODIN. After some Seconds i pulled out the USB Cable from the Smartphone. Now it has only a Blackscreen, i cant turn it on !!! I tried to get in the facory reset or download mode. But nothing happens. My pc cant find the Phone, and theres not signal when i pull the USB Cable into the Phone. I think there must be a Program for it maybe. PLEASE HELP :((((

Still confused why they make it so delicate and complicated. Can't do the "take the battery out and put it back in" solution to phone problems without voiding warranty. Pretty much make it so if there's any 1 little problem, you either gotta pay way too much to repair it, or pay the same price for a replacement. This does help tho. Assuming I wouldn't mess up and break something. XD Then I'm just screwed.
