Thanks for sharing this video, I followed the instructions to a T, my pink line briefly disappeared about 2 days later it returned. When I opened it the first time I also removed the battery, I noticed on the backside of what appears to be a thin heatsink or shield, regardless I noticed a few brown spots I'm assuming that was because of the battery overheating. I'm wondering if I change my battery would that help? Right now the pink line isn't as big, matter of fact it's needle thin. Any advice on what my next step is would be greatly appreciated!! Again thanks, the video was extremely helpful!
Wow...never believed it would work..i tried it using a slight piece of unused carpet and behold, the fuckin line s gone!! Glad I went through the process! Thanks a bunch :)
S7 EDGE Followed this and it worked for me, no more pink line, NB take the sim card section out before starting, also I didnt have to take the battery out. I ordered a watch menders screwdriver kit off of Amazon for around 6 quid and I used a hair dryer to warm up the glue on the back and a this plectrums to ease the back off and so keeping the gasket on glue still there to stick back together.
@@NuyoricanJoseph lol cuz the pressure is what makes it appear and applying more pressure will make it worse later, this is caused cuz of putting you phone in back pocket or applying high pressure to it
Thank u very much for your video and effort. I have tried 4 times and is not working. I think im using the wrong plastic. Im using a plastic used for lamination like student cards ect. The third time i used a thicker one and i saw the screen bulking a little where the plastic is inserted. I still have a pink line. I think the plastic is wrong. Please help.
wtf?! Why didn't you wait for s10 to release? It was literally going to launch next day you commented on this video. If I were you I would've definitely wiated until s10 was released and now I quite like them. Surely better than s9+.
@@sharank I couldn't wait anymore. I was phoneless! I did the S7 fix and it it fixed it permanently. Pink line is still there and I couldn't stand it anymore. Also, I got the S9+ with no money down and the phone company want $350.00 down. No way! Plus, I can't stand that notch cut out; it seems a step backwards. I'll wait for the Samsung S13+ for my next upgrade. PS. I'm tired of getting a new phone every 2 years, I'm going for 3 years now.
@@johnnie135 True. My s7 has also got the pink line and I barely get past a day without noticing it. I have preordered s10e though. So I am desperately waiting for it get rid of this piece of shit phone.
@@sharank I understand completely. To be honest, if the pink line wasn't there, I would have kept my S7+ until it died. I'm done with replacing my phone's every 2 years. Btw, at this point in time, I have no idea of how many phones that I've had in my lifetime. Hmmm.
I think this is the same issue the playstation 3 had with YLOD because they had to use less quality material which had a lower melting threshold or something due to health concerns, I already fixed my phone which didn't want to power on by heating the chips with heat gun and I think the display has some chips too which is why when you press at top area you're pressing on those chips, maybe some good heat and pressing would sort it but the problem is it's hard to get to.
My S6 Edge Plus has a thin pink vertical line. If I press top of phone, sometimes it goes away for a while, sometimes it does nothing, and sometines more thin pink lines appear. So what causes this in the first place? I did have my screen replaced several months ago so perhaps that has something to do with my issue.
@THE KID OF LINK AND ZELDA New screen goes for nearly as much as the value of this phone. You buy some cheap used parts you never know what you get. Makes no sense anyway.
Don't waste your time, this doesn't work. Now you have yourself a S7 with a pink line of death and it won't be waterproof anymore. Best thing to do is get a new phone and keep the S7 for travel, hikes, biking etc. You'll have an instrument that can do so many things from photos to navigation. And! You won't be afraid if it's lost or stolen.
yeah just replace the back cover they are like 10$ easily replaced mine is still water proof and i had this same problem did this solution and it works fine ma dude
Its works. Use a piece of thin aluminum for more permanent fix.plastic gets hot and the problem will come back. Metal is stronger under harsh conditions
brilliant...As U forgot to show removing Sim and memory card holder (somehow yours magically removed itself off camera part way through)...that is now broken from trying to remove board with it still in...if U are going to do this stuff it would help if U didn't leave out important steps.. By the way ..the line came back after 24 hours...waste of time and more money spent fixing Sim card holder..😣
Suggest you'd watched other s7/s6 disassemble videos with better quality and more information + if they're pointing out every minor detail and then youd start disassemble And if it came back that means the plastic piece fell of or Isn't firmly anymore
i've just done this and it took me 3 hours! this was not very easy, i ran into a problem where i saw the top front screen starting to unglue due to the thickness of the piece of plastic i inserted, so my recommendation is, do not put a plastic as thick as a credit card or something! it has to be like half thick as that! conclusion: at first there was still a slight pink line but after adjusting the piece of plastic more to the side of the front camera it seems to be working
im sorry but this video skips some steps nd is way to fast for a first time user, im glad it not my first time repairing a phone but still ur video is just barly helpfull if ur still making videos slow down nd talk/write down the steps for a better overview
The pink lines are due to **dead pixels** and there is no way a piece of plastic can get them alive . However if you try it you’ll end up messing up with the logic board ie:motherboard.better go for a screen replacement
