Danny F s6 has the same screen so I'm not surprised. I am just amazed that my s7 has better specs than many phones that were just released and the s7 was released a while ago.
I recently purchased S7 edge a week ago from iPhone 6s. The S7 edge is old too I know but I originally wanted the Note 7 but battery problems happened. Honestly though I cannot look at my old iPhone 6s and think how pathetic the screen and camera is compared to my new phone, the difference is literally night and day
NicksDomain101 I think the phone is a true marvel from a hardware perspective but the software kills the experience for me . You can't get it directly from Samsung so you must deal with carrier bloat ware and updates take forever get it's the reason I jumped ship to a nexus 6p from the note 4 because for a long time (7months) I was stuck on a broken version of lollipop that had the ram leak issue Also iPhone screens especially the plus version are not that bad I bought a Iphone 7plus to upgrade from my original 6 and the bigger screen and higher 1080p resolution are good enough hell I still think my s4 had a pretty screen. Now what I will say that makes the higher resolution screens nice is when it comes to the VR experience but if your just useing your phone normally 1080p-1440p is the sweet spot and 1440p can be a vampire on battery so I usually opt for the best looking displays that maintain good performance and stamina of a device
How do they need optimizing? They perform better, better battery life, better audio through the headphone jack. The exynos variant is better in basically every way than the SD820 variant.
Brent Fournier Exactly. The Exynos version is much more powerful than the SD820/SD821 and is one of the 2 Android phones that can keep up with the iPhone 7 computing power. The SD820 version is sooo bad. Slow, high-heat, bad multitasking, last-gen/2-gen-old performance...
i got the S7 and the same day i arrive home my father was like'' WHAT ? THE NORMAL ONE ? YOU SHOULD GET THE EDGE ...'' he knew i wanted that phone but i haven't had the amount for the edge ... and he came like ...why didn't you ask me to give you some money? ... i was too close to kill him :P
The only problem with the normal S7 is the screen size. But I would never pick a phone with an edge screen since that is just an annoying gimmick that actually makes the phone worse.
people who cares. because of a large company made a mistake everyone's going to say stuff like this. nothing to be butthurt about. it's just how human and society are now a days lol. something gets popular people will hop on its dick.
I got like 4 month using my S7 Edge and I don't have any complaint with it. It just great. Any lag, pretty fast, great camera, waterproof proved, great design and feels great in hands too. Samsung made a great job this year

I own a s7 edge and I recommend you look into these two great apps called display scaling and galaxy button lights 2, I love that the backlights don't turn on and the display scaling makes it better for me.
Javier Hernandez Yea, Verizon is well known to remove settings from phones. At least you are not forced to use tab menu like AT&T S7. I wish I could use other menu for settings.
Javier Hernandez Usually for settings in android you scroll down to get all menus in setting. For galaxy S7 edge AT&T you have to scroll horizontal through tabs with each tab having different settings such as connection, device, personal, system etc. This tabs have sub settings on each. You don't get all options at once. Also, this menu is a little hard for one hand use.
Mohamed Ahmed He won't do a note 7 after the buzz, 1: he won't have one, 2: it's dead, 3: it's been banned in several places. He may do one but it would be pointless since hardly anyone will have note 7s any more
One thing I liked about the S7 Edge was the volume rocker on text messages ENLARGED the FONT . I was unable to find that feature on Note7. Still I will miss the SPen, additional 32Gb internal storage and slightly larger screen. I know I can add more SD memory!
5:45 mmm...Mrs. Rivera I presume? Not a bad night shot at all! But yeah I've been recommending the S7 Edge to all those with the Note woes. Most of them didn't use the stylus so they really aren't missing much!
The introduction was 100 times better than other videos. Shorter is better. And if you could either not say your name as often, or get a reader to say it in a commercial at the end/beginning, the better it would be. Content great as always.
I just buy this phone today ... Rather than s8 and s9 , I choose this one , because i want to feel the last S series that use physical home button :) Infinity display is good too , but in a few years s10 or S 11 will be more massive in design and hardware
Having an Android phone not made by google is depressing. Every year you get to watch Google IO and see all the new Android features your device will never see. Even the Pixel will only get updates for 2 years. I'll stick with iOS at least my older devices get software updates and reduce the urge to want to update. Last iPhone I kept for 3 years and was on the latest OS. Working great.
John Edmonds Android 2 years and Apple 3 years ! Not a great difference ! I usually change my phone after 2 years and I prefer Android platform for its flexibility and customization that wins anything ever !
darkkelpo true but like Jaime mentioned in the video samsung and a lot of other manufacturers can't keep up with Android updates.. Also not thrilled to hear that they are going to update the new pixels only for two years or something like that :P
Engy Amr Apple updates devices for way more than 3 years. The iPhone 4s, released in 2011 running iOS 5, got iOS 9 updates clear until iOS 10 was released a month ago. That's 5 years of support. Even my Nexus 6 barely is going to get 2 years of support, and that's a 2014 phone.
adem I would partially agree if you're on android. my Nexus 5 was useless after a year, I bought an apple 5s when the price went down and that shit was good until a couple of weeks ago.
I had a iPhone 6 and been rocking with Apple for a couple years the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge was the phone to make me make the switch, I love everything about it especially the screen!!!
I got mine the day the day before yesterday and I don't regret it one bit. It's an amazing phone. I really don't care about dual lens when S7's camera is this good.
R3M B1A1 I am not representing the public Jaime ask what phone would you like to see next and i give the phone that I want to see next I could have said I want to see the first iPhone if I wanted to.
Still loving my S7 edge the same way i did when i got my hands on it. I'm not even considering changing soon, like for a S8 or something from other brands. I'm far from being a fan boy because my previous device was the Z3 from Sony.and never actually got two consecutive phones from the same brand, but Samsung really got me after the S6. Untill the Note7 they were doing a good job being consistent in design and specs. I may consider a Note9 if Sammy don't get the line to be left hanging.
Once again, this guy knows his stuff and gives fair reviews in general. I went from the Note 7 to the S7 Edge. And although I miss the pen/stylus, the phone is still the closest thing to a Note 7. Thanks PocketNow.
George Rickett you compare that "buzz" with other phone "buzzes". It was minimalistic buzz, while G5,S7,iPhone7,OnePlus3,P9. etc. had so much bigger buzz, cause no one cares avout blackberry nowadays and it's goner now.
don't see why you hating on the priv, brilliant phone with a pkb with a vkb and software enhancements to get the best out of a brilliant pkb ? plus monthly security updates from blackberry? shows what you people know .
Love it. the camera is fantastic Being able to expand storage micro sd is huge plus. fast wireless charging is really cool. I use samsung pay yesterday and it blows apple pay away. if your iphone user thinking about switching it worth it
Ayush Rathee get the edge.. the vr is pretty cheap now the new /blue version is out. the white one I saw for as low as 50 euros. (10000% do get the vr though.. it's totally worth it especially if you torrent some porn lol)
my Samsung s7 slipped from my hand while walking and before it hit the floor I had a heart attack, I survived the heart attack but sadly my s7 didn't survive the drop 😂😂😂
malik faizan ....I'm still on the Note 4, but my contract is up and I'm caught up in a conundrum. Buy the s7 edge handset outright and have a rolling plan til s8 comes out or just stay with the Note 4 and downgrade my contract into a rolling one til s8 comes out.....decisions decisions
Got the s6 edge aswell, it's holding up fantasticly. it stutters slightly under certain circumstances, but generally speaking, no it doesn't^ Battery life of my phone is still excellent and only times i'm left with a dead phone is when i use it alot and forget to charge it b4 the next day
Terrible, TERRIBLE palm rejection, even worse when combined with the capacitive MT and back buttons. I hate the whole "because we can" curved display that doesn't add any useful functionaity other than making the device difficult to hold. And the curve reduces the actual viewable area of the screen smaller, and also adds glare on the edges. The fingerprint sensor is the worst I've used. It gets it wrong 3/5 times. I just don't understand people who says this is a good looking phone. It is so awkwardly shaped compared to the note 7.
This phone blew me away! I swore to never get another galaxy after s4 but i caved 4 months ago and bought the S7 edge. Best phone i bought hands down, can't wait to see what samsung will bring to the table with the galaxy S8 just hope they don't rush it because of the S7 note.
Ameen Baathar Yeahh they should! I bought this phone and i'm still using it. It's actually a great phone. Yes there are minor issues, but every phone has that. The module thing was and still is, a big joke.. If lg updates this phone to android nougat and port some things like manual videomode to this phone. I think it will be an even better phone than that it is now. If you want to know any experience i have had with the phone just ask! :)
actully I sold my note 5 to get the G5 it's a really great phone. the camera is insain. its size is compact. also I hope they add the multitasking on the 7.0 update along with the manual video. btw I never bought it for the modularity just its a great phone.
Guilty :( , forgetting about the mods (except for the battery ....and maybe the dac) ................... as a daily i find it is actually a pretty good device , it does have some cool tweaks , i love the integrated power button on off finger print reader(super cool feature imo). if you can over look its flaws , dodgey case build quality , dim always on display(useless in daylight), gps accuracy seems to be a bit hit and miss on mine , and i have seen other reports of the same . the cameras are quite decent and the wide angle lens is very handy , FM radio is enabled ( i love this feature ), still does have 820 and 4gb ram and sd card , it still runs fairly well , and throw a case on it and it looks pretty respectable , and for a fairly well equipped device ..... it can be had very cheaply . .
mikldude Honestly i dont see why the always on display is a negative thing...You can disable it and even if you leave it enabled you almost won't notice any battery drain. i didn't put my g5 on the charger when i went to sleep. Say that's about 8 hours. The battery had lost 2%! with always on display! The camera is quite decent? Damn dude I think it does more than that. It really kicks ass. (fine mine is rooted and can capture 1080p60fps, but besides that I've made some pictures and video's and you wouldn't believe its from a phone! I definitely agree with the build quality. WHAT THE F IS UP WITH THAT :') From my experience it's still a flagship phone and would recommend it. The flaws are minor enough to see past them and won't hinder in daily use. Sorry but i think it's worth defending this phone 😅
I usually jump from flagship phone to flagship phone always moving to something new. This year however I keep going back to my s7 edge. In my opinion its the best phone on the market without question.
this phone is amazing!!!!!! i have it now 1 week totally love it. it does make my old note 4 look like an ancient piece of fridge.the screen is mindblowing.
Wow, thinking that repair experience was really great. I think fifty bucks was very reasonable and you got a practically new condition phone. Well done, Samsung.
Watching this on my new S7 edge! Buying this was the best decision I made this year! This smartphone still 'edges' out all other flagship smartphones! ☺️
I can't actually believe this phone (S7 Edge) Firstly I wasn't keen on Android but Apple was boring me, so after 6 years I switched to S7 Edge at launch, recently I bought an iPhone 7 and my intention was to sell S7 Edge, turns out I'm selling the iPhone and keeping my S7 Edge. iPhone 7 is nothing compared to S7 Edge. This phone made me NOT WANT AN IPHONE and if you bought one you would not be disappointed. Probably the best phone I've ever had, and definitely the one I enjoy using the most.
Phone Daft I totally agree I traded my 7 plus for a s7 edge and couldn't be happier it's the best phone I've had period my next phone will be the s8 plus
I agree with everything in this video. I've had the S7 Edge for over a month now and love it. An OS update is well overdue. I have the Exynos 8890 version (UK) and the battery life has been great. Even the Quick Charge has been flawless. I actually chose this phone over the Note 7 because of the high price. Didn't really need all the bells and whistles of the Note 7. An OS update would make this perfect for me. Come on Samsung! Sort it out! 😉
I also bought s7 edge 2 weeks ago. I wanted the note 7 but the problems didn't let me buy it. It was the only best chance after note 7 and I'm happy with it😘
i bought the 6s Plus way after the buzz. Exatly 2 Days ago and it is so fast im very happy its faster than the 7 Plus in most times. You dont have to buy the ''Newest'' just go with the older ones . The s7 Edge is still a beast and has the best Battery life out there.
I was looking to get this phone to replace my V10, but I will just get the V20. Audio through headphones is a major thing from me and LG has the best out there, and the V20 looks very promising.
Still rocking my s7 edge gold with Sprint since day 1.... lovin it, i have a few scratches as well on the home button and on my screen... and there minor, love the video!!
Pro Tip! (I've owned my snapdragon S7 edge since it came out) I find that turning on "force GPU rendering" under the developer settings help make the already silky smooth performance even more consistent. I paired that with turning the animation speeds to .5x and everything seems to run smoother than I've seen before. It also seems to improve the RAM management but I'm not sure if that's due to the changed settings or updates. Try it out and let me know what it does for you!
When sony phone were the only ones with water resistant no one gave a damn. When htc did the dual camera people called it a gimmick. But now when apple does it samsungs taking a back sit on adopting new trend like really hats a must have feature now smh.
