Easy fix guys, all you will need is a small screwdriver, a heat gun, 1/2 mm plastic cover remover, a PHD in applied physics, a water gun (to counteract the heat gun!), a Tesla v12 engine, 12 cans of mountain dew, 3 hours of free spare time, a wife and 2 kids, and last but not least a Bible, to pray over before embarking on this repair job.
The comments on this video are hilarious! And as entertaining as learning how nifty everything in the S9 appears to be. In reality, it seems like much more trouble than it's worth. It effectively looks like taking every component bit by bit out of one phone and putting them into another. Wonder how much a pro charges to do this much work? Very impressive video though!!
Thank you! Finally, a video that shows exactly how to replace the screen! Your video should be the first on search, not the 3rd. The top 2 don't show clearly how to do it. Thanks a lot!
This is so much more doable then it looks. Directions shown in good detail, really easy to follow along. Just used a pick and small screwdriver. Pretty surprising how easy it is, great video!
Luckily my back glass is broken too. That'll be the easy part, nothing to save lolol --Update-- I did it! Thank you so much for the video. It would have been helpful to see out the screen was removed from the frame if needed but I figured it out. Not much to save since front and back glass AND screen were all needing replacements. Guide works great, only took about an hour.
Knowing that screens crack all the time, why not make it more easy to replace it. Iits a money grab. I'm over these new phones, getting a cheap flip phone.
Step 1: Disassemble the entire phone. Step 2: Unknowingly lose a small component. Step 3: Attempt reassembly, can't find missing part. Step 4: Roll on the floor, crying in frustration. Step 5: Throw half assembled phone in the garbage. Step 6: Order refurb on Amazon Step 7: Find missing part after new phone arrives.
Hi, thanks for the tutorial, all other tutorials showed how to move the pieces on the other screen and frame. Is it really necessary to remove all you did in the video?
Yeah I replaced my screen with there replaced screen, a couple issues I ran into. The volume keypad was missing, I had to take it out of my old phone. The other issue, I was only getting 1 bar of signal inside my house. I replaced everything inside my phone except the motherboard. I finally found a video where some guy said that there was paint covering up all of the grounding points all over it. I took my phone apart and yep there was paint covering everything up just like he said. I scratched all of the paint off and now I get signal inside my house. You guy's need to work on your quality control because I payed close to $300. That's outrageous that there was that many problems.
This is easy. I don’t know why people complain. Spent $38 on the screen replacement and did it by myself. No experience at all. I feel bad at who ever spent a lot of money to fix the screen. 🤦♂️
@@cheezybread7783 heat up the screen for 30 seconds with a heater gun and then with pry tools you slide in on the sides of the screen to take it off. You disconnect the cable that’s attached to the screen and follow the video on RU-vid called “ disassembling Galaxy s9”.
@@Xdwizofficial bruh thats like removing the back of the phone.. id rather not remove the phone entirely instead id just remove the front glass and replace it with a new one.
@@Xdwizofficial dang... my back isnt bad its scratched only... Hence for the front u thing i should heat it up and pry it with the tools they give me? Also is the stickers (green color) that come with the glass good or should i buy the glass and glue that come with it?
Awesome video foreal, just one question, I just need to replace my screen do I have to do all does step (take out the back cover etc.) Just to replace my screen
Yeah I was just thinking "I can easily do this myself and not pay the $30.00 screen repair fee the phone insurance is charging." After watching this video I have decided to now pay the $30.00.
I know this is late and sounds ridiculous but avoid hitting the speaker and spray only screen with wd-40 after few seconds wipe off good and a screen won't cut your fingers anymore
Great how-to! The added comments, step by step, & highlighted points are highly helpful! Can the front screen be removed from the mid-frame? Thanks & am subbing! Oh, can the type C charge port be replaced, or is it best to just replace the mini pcb? Thank you 🤓😸 found a broken S9 to-day (found a broken A20 a week ago!) & like to tinker with them is the S9 (when new) waterproof?
MellowMadnessRMX fucking samsung makes it so hard to replace the screens, they want us to keep buying their new products. Damn I hate apple but boy is it easier to replace the screen
I fixed iphones and android but I don't mess with samsung it's a Hassle ... but you're doing a Excellent job ... 🖒🖒 ... I have a Question if possible if possible... I have Samsung galaxy s6 edge Verizon white Pearl top screen is cracked but LCD still work and I want to get a free Quote if possible thanks ...
This honestly doesn't look too bad the only thing keeping me from doing is the cost of a new screen. Removing the back is the actual hard part it's home strech from there.
@@aulinjake I successfully replaced my glass on my S9+. Saved lots. No technical hands-on help, but with the help of RU-vid I did it. Used my craft heat tool to help. The screen came with a little kit of tools which was all I needed. I wouldn't recommend it, but I felt like itnwas worth the risk if I might pull it off. Of course, I will say, Don't ask me how long it took. It was , hmmm, shall I say therapeutic? I processed more emotions in that time than in a month. 😆😖😫😭😡😵😔😌🥲😄😉
njan kiduvaa The phone’s water resistance is compromised, when the screen is replaced, because the adhesive seal must be broken to remove the screen. Therefore, owner are warned to never submerge the phone after replacing the screen.
I have tested the new screen before glueing it to the frame, it worked fine, after installing it on the frame just like in the video it had a white line across the middle....wtf??
This is a lot of extra work for a s9 I'm almost positive you could've taken of the screen flex from the mother board then take of the screen with the heat flex on the front by using the sucking cup and removed it and then slide the flex back in reconnect and done
I have an S9 with broken front glass. The digitizer still works - my glass is cracked but the touch screen still works fine. Can I just pull the broken glass off the front to replace without taking apart the entire phone?
Yes, you can just replace the front glass for your S9. But I suggest you take your S9 to the repair shop to do this, because replace the front glass need professional tools, you can refer this Front Glass Repair Guide: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0WPzY3A5yjM.html
do i really need to remove the battery and all the other components for just the screen replacement or can i just remove the componets blocking the lcd ribon connector, then disconect the ribon and then use the heat gun to remove the screeen?
Looks hard at first but if you just watch this video 5 times and make a list of all the parts on paper or flash cards then put the parts on the flash cards that are numbered in order youll be ok
Definitely feels deliberate that I'm being asked to pay 220 dollars to fix this...I don't see why they couldn't have the glass screen on a bracket that was removable from the front (exactly the same way the back is taken off which, while a long step, was just 1 step). Definitely feels like a racket to me...not cool, cell phone techs.
This video is to demonstrate that you are WAY better off taking your phone to a technician. Not a chance I'll be able resemble this without doing some irreparable damage.
$169 for a replacement screen. My glass cracked. The piece they are selling for $6.90 on witrig... how do i replace that part only. Front glass. Not LCD
I’ve taken things apart before By the looks of it if you have some experience and a lot of patients I wonder if it’s as easy as it looks I’m not scared of screws or flex cables being ripped in scared of any electronics small bits being bent and something so if anyone had experience and did this is it really almost that simple? I can live without a complete seal I just wanna replace the screen lol
If you buy a without frame, then screen adhesive will be included. This is screen adhesive for Samsung Galaxy S9 www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-supporting-frame-sticker-replacement-for-samsung-galaxy-s9
Lol this video isn't a screen replacement, it's a screen and frame replacement. All you need to do is expose the digitizer flex and then take off and put on the replacement screen. They even sell adhesive to reapply. This seems more like repair shop propaganda than a repair guide.
Its durability test incase screen comes in contact with coins, Nailcutters, scissors in pocket not for drop test. So yeah your ideas came from your ass not brain
i dont understand why they cant just make it simple like: turn phone off, heat adhesive to loosen it, use a suction cup to pop the screen off, put new screen on, allow to dry and re stick. but nah they hope you bring it back to the manufacturer to pay 200$
Maaaan fuck these curved screens. Makes it harder to get a good case and screen protector. The increased surface area also increases the chances of dropping it ON the screen. nobody wants to fix these for less than 250 atm. Wish I had waited for the s10e.
holy crap are you f..... serious all that for a screen repair not even lcd digitizer just a cracked screen...damn son... f..dat but i guess it does save you alot of money if you are patient enough and when you keep doing it it ghets easier and easier
