I plan on keeping my S9+ for the entirety of my med school for the next 6 years. I'll upgrade after that. I will get the battery replaced after 3 years though
Like I said in the video, I think a lot of enthusiasts might want to upgrade, but you've got a heck of a tablet there and it's a terrific value. No need to get rid of it now if you're enjoying it
I've been wanting to get an S9 may I have an honest review from you. I will use it for reading but I am also a gamer so I will use it for games, tv, books, ect
I will say it again I don't think tech now was never meant to switch over to the next generation for little improvement. Or a major upgrade from the previous generation of last year tech. It's supposed to buy it if you have an outdated tech and you want something new at that time. For example, I bought the Samsung 10.1 tab A in the year 2019. Last year, I wanted a bigger screen, so I got the s8 ultra tab , which was big and an upgrade improvement from my previous tablet. I think tech has so much better technology inside of it, memory, storage , processer, etc. compared a decade ago where you need to upgrade to the next generation but not anymore. S9 series will fade out like the s8 series, etc. So in the next couple of years, it will be s11 and s12 and so on. Is to buy it now if you have an outdated tech at that time you need it. But if you don't, then don't buy it. So I,m keeping my s8 ultra tab probably won't upgrade until the s12 or s13 ultra tab then I will see an upgrade or major improvements over the s8 ultra tab. I wait until several generations to see a difference. That's my 2 cents. Lol. Ps. I'm watching this on my s8 ultra tab.
I do tend to agree with you. But financially speaking, trade-ins do change that. You keep your device for more years, but it's also worth less for every year you keep it. If they are offering $650 this year but they only offer 350 next year, you could really go either way. Yes, upgrading less overtime will save you money. But upgrading more, and getting better trades (especially when they are paying you over the used value on eBay). Trading earlier has advantages. That's why I mentioned for myself, it's not the best value to upgrade to the S10 Ultra from the S9 ultra, the S8 Ultra is sort of a toss-up, but the older models, it might be time for some of those people
I’ve had both the 12.9 IPad Pro and the S9 Ultra. I’m deep in the Apple ecosystem but I bought the S9 Ultra out of curiosity thinking I would return it. The S9U is just so good I sold the iPad. I never noticed a speed difference and was blown away by how powerful Android is and the ‘slow compared to an iPad’ snapdragon chip handled it like a champ.
That's awesome to hear. Welcome to, partially, team Android 😂. I'll talk a lot of Galaxy Tab stuff over the next few months. Feel free to join us on here
I have a feeling the trade-in deal for tab s9u to tab s10u will be pretty good. Wanting to upgrade to a 1TB storage and the anti-reflective panel is pretty tempting.
I think you're far better off getting a 1 terabyte SD card and going with the cheaper tab s10 ultra. But you do whatever makes you happy. I don't think most people will notice that extra ram and I think you can get your storage a cheaper way and still experience the tablet pretty much the same everyday. But hey, these tablets are awesome and if you want the best of the best, that's going to be the best way to go is to get the one terabyte model I guess
In the UK, trading in the Tab S9 Ultra gets you £400, which is an £800 hit in 12 months. No sane person who cares about money will do that, as the S10 Ultra is barely an upgrade. Also, it is £1550 for the 16GB version, so it is shockingly expensive for a Samsung tablet. So I cannot imagine many people upgrading from the S9 unless they are well off. As for upgrading from the Tab S8U, there are minimal gains. Most people use these indoors, so water resistance and antiglare are moot. Again trade-in sucks so easy pass.
I used my s8 ultra to edit videos and then try to export on Capcut, the process takes so long... Did the same video on s23 ultra and it took half the time, so I am updating for the processing power because I need that for my video editing needs
I'm still rocking the Tab S6! It still works without any issues, except a year ago I cracked the screen(still useable). A replacement is more than the actual tablet so I believe my hand is being forced.
Currently I have Tab A8 with 4gb RAM. Should I upgrade to Tab S10+ for a great experience or wait for Tab S11 ? I mostly use for study and gaming, I'm pursuing engineering course.
The S11 could be 16 months away. It often only comes every year and a half. The A8 is pretty slow. I'd be looking to upgrade sooner than later personally
I have the Google tablet and bought it for games strategic and so on. But even if it stands in the Play store under the "for tablet" section it uses halv the screen, thats just so so so so BAD. And i dont like Apples pricing. But i must admid that apps are far better on iOS, its SO SAD. I want d To go all in on Android, but when i buy a game that supposed to be optimized for tablet. My expectations are equally high. This is THE most important thing to be fixed in the future PERIOD!!!
I suppose not entirely relevant, but I have a S6 and am almost certainly going to upgrade to get the latest Android for security reasons. Reflection of overhead lighting is a daily issue, so an antireflection screen would be quite nice. Unfortunately S10 not available for pre-order here in Australia yet.
My Samsung tablet is an A9+ and for what I use an android tablet for it works perfectly.... I could have an S9 or S10 but what's the point of honestly wasting money on high end tablets when I read books and manga & watch movies and shows.... My daily is a Lenovo P11 Plus mainly cause it has a lovely display
That's great. That's why I try to cover the A9+ and lower end tablets. Personally I've used the S9 FE a lot. Often overlooked. But a great tablet. Keep what works for you
I'm not crazy about the pricing. You compare it to the pricing you're seeing from xiaomi or Asus or Lenovo or honor, oneplus.... I guess they can get away with it since a lot of those tablets are not available in the US market. But its wild that it's $800 MSRP for the tab S9 right now. For 128 GB? Product is almost a year old. It should be under 500 bucks. Once you're getting that close to $1,000, you have to seriously start considering getting an arm-based window solution.
I think we just have to realize what we're looking at here. If you want a better bang for your buck hardware wise, you're always going to have one of these Chinese manufacturers undercutting samsung. But Samsung and Apple are going to have the most polish on their software, they are going to have far superior updates, but, the cost is going to be maybe one or $200 higher. But they will come with a pen unlike many of those other companies. But in the premium segment, when compared with apple, I think they crush them with value. Especially when it comes to storage. Most people don't have 128 GB of apps anyway. But the S10 plus and the S10 Ultra have 256 GB of storage Plus you can add a one terabyte SD card for under $100. Versus the insane prices of Apple to go up in storage. It's not going to be the same value as some of these other manufacturers. But I will say Samsung makes up for it with some trade-ins or ways to manipulate their prices, unlike apple. Remember I can buy a tablet on eBay today for $250, and I can trade it in for $500 towards either of these tablets. So if you take $250 off the price that way, these tablets will not only match up with their Chinese competitors, but they are honestly better tablets overall for that money. So I think they are actually a pretty good value for the premium segment. And even if someone didn't want to jump through those hoops, I still think they're pretty good. But they are going to cost a little more than some of those other devices, I'll give you that. I would like to see some better mid-range options from Samsung around $500. Something with more processing power
bro im unsubscribbing from almost every channel everyone on youtube ks just out here shilling products and its a waste of money and time. Ill stay subscribed to u tbo i like your stuff and i like staying informed about the best bang for your buck stuff. Keep doing your thing.
I'm disappointed by Samsung's decision not to make the S10 model. I have Tas S8 Ultra and Tab S9+, and I wanted to buy a little model this year. So unfortunate...
Enjoying your videos !! I am a IPad Pro user but my wife has a Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e . This is an old tablet that is still fast. I would like to upgrade one day
The new tablets look very nice but my s9 plus is working so well... I just don't see the need to upgrade it yet... it's better if you wait a few years so you can actually notice it :)
Right. I'm with you. I think people from the S8 series will notice it at least some. The S7 series and below will definitely notice it. I think some people will notice some really cool changes from the tab S9, but I do think it's pretty minimal
Hi 😌 i have one question about a new Tab S10 Ultra Would you recommend this tablet for video editing? I do some 4K Videos editing and I consider also to switch to Android specifically for S24 or maybe S25 Ultra. I do like a bigger screen of Tab S10 Ultra than 11” or 13” iPad Pro M4, I do like the design as well. I would be happy, if you could help me. 😀
You won't love my answer but my answer is "I think so". Luma Fusion is the best video editing program in my opinion on Android. I tried it with the Tab S9 Plus and I had mixed results. I imported my 4k footage and created proxy files. And then started editing. It worked great. But towards the end of the project it started to slow down. I do 10 to 15 minutes videos with a roll and b roll. All 4k footage. But my 4k footage is from my Sony camera. I truly believe that if I used 4k footage from a phone things would have went better and it would have been smoother. But I think the format I used slowed things down. If you do shorter videos than me, less b roll, (video on top of you talking) OR if you're using videos from your phone, I believe in all of those situations you'll probably have a smooth experience overall.
I will just use my phone (I’m about to buy S24 Ultra and record 4K) and edit on Tab S10 Ultra. I don’t really need a professional Sony camera or something 😅. But most of time I will use it to write some mails, listen music or this kinda stuff. That’s why I will prefer to have a bigger screen. A new MacBook Pro or iPad Pro 13” with pencil and keyboard will be around 2000€ and this is for me as a student a lot of money. With a student discount I am able to buy Tab S10 Ultra for only 1100€ and I’m getting as preorder a keyboard for free. So would you recommend this combination (S24 Ultra and Tab S10 Ultra)? Would you say, that everything is going to work smoothly and without any problems?
That's completely okay! The S8 Ultra is still great today and I believe you've got a couple of years of updates left, so there's some time. I'm seeing display charges + 2 generations of processors, more brightness, water resistance, I think there's a lot there, but it may not be worth it to you. Even with the good trade in deal it's not worth it to everyone, I get that. Sometimes the best thing to do is stick with what you have, don't blame you if that is your decision. I think S8 owners should CONSIDER but ultimately it's your call
It's very complicated. There's no doubt the iPad will have more power. But it won't be super noticeable. And ESPECIALLY if you want more storage, the ability to put an sd card in, plus getting the s pen in the box, all of this makes the tab s9 a much better value. But it's not a better tablet. I'd say the m4 is a little better. But you'd have to buy the pen separately. And it will cost a little more
The iPad is better for gaming; that is objective. For note-taking, I would say Samsung, as their S-pen has lots of tricks, but the iPad also does a good enough job. If you are keeping for a long time then no-brainer the M4 iPad as its OLED lasts twice as long and the M4 chip is future-proofing your device for years to come. If you upgrade more regularly, then this is not so important.
Qualcomm modems are very expensive. It costs Apple $8 billion annually, so Samsung may not be far away. Apple is trying to develop their own modem as feeding a rival like Qualcomm is bad business, and I assume Samsung had to keep costs down, hence Dimensity and no 5G. Even though they charge extra, the costs probably still exceed how much they charge consumers.
I think people don't realize how important those updates are now. Identity theft and digital scamming are hitting a whole new level with AI written code. 5 or 10 years ago I might have kept something that wasn't getting support. Now there's no way I would consider it.
It's important to remember though that on Android you get Google Play service updates in perpetuity basically. Stuff on Android 5 is still getting Google Play service updates. It's not like an iPhone or ipad where once you get the last OS update, the apps are never updated again. It's obviously better also to get system-wide security patches and the like, But older Android phones are way more secure than older iPhones for this reason. You still get the Google Play service updates.
People in the comments are on a bunch of BS I don't want to hear no BS talking about they would upgrade their tablet but yet these are the same people that would upgrade their phone every year which is a waste so spare me the BS
Very true. I'm seeing a lot of hate on this tablet for some reason, but we see very minimal upgrades every year and a lot of these people will also upgrade their phones. Sure, it's not the best value to upgrade from the tab S9 Ultra to the tab S10 ultra, but it's honestly not that bad of a value either. Even if it's a minor upgrade though, I was finding it crazy that people were saying it's a terrible deal to upgrade from the S8 series. But these tablets are actually a pretty decent jump from that. I get both sides for sure. But this tablet has seen a lot more hate than I expected, just because it's one of the more minimal upgrades we've seen in a while
The elephant in the room you avoided is the keyboard? The magic keyboard is a winner and until Samsung make an equivalent instead of offering their B grade case, then I’m staying with iPad even though I’ve got a S24 and Watch 7.
This is very true. No doubt. Dexnor made an alternative, and honestly the keyboard section of it is amazing. The touchpad is iffy but if you can use a Bluetooth mouse it's amazing. At least for the S9/S10 Plus (it will fit the same case). I get you though. I used to think Samsung's way of doing keyboards is better but I enjoy the magic keyboard style more than I expected
The Apple keyboard is light years ahead of Samsung's expensive effort. If like me, the keyboard experience is vital, then the iPad is the de facto choice as Samsung's is just poorly designed and nasty to use.
Stop talking like Kermit, you are insulting your audience. My S8 ultra with its gen 1 processor is perfectly fine thank you and I won't be upgrading in the UK the trade in values are dreadful. stop pushing this rhetoric
Stop insulting how people talk just because you don't like what they say. I said over and over that it's still okay to keep the tab s8 ultra. And that I can see why people would keep it. I live in the US so I mention those deals to help my US audience. I'm sorry but the world doesn't resolve around you and not every deal mentioned will apply to you. You don't have to watch my content if you don't like it. I take a lot of time and make it at a great expense to myself. But if you don't like it, you don't have to watch it. I'll continue to try my best to help my audience and I'll talk like I normally do. I find it sad that you want to move to insults. But regardless I still wish you the best
personally I would never spend over $200 on any android tablet. If you have $300 get an iPad 10. Apple has the best customer service in the world. Applecare is everything
I mean the $300 iPad doesn't even have a laminated screen though. It has a 60 hz display. Doesn't have a desktop mode or promotion or quad speakers. It's not in apples to apples comparison. And more than that on Apple you can't even download the apps you want if it's not On the Apple store. So that means no browsers with extensions. No third party app stores. No third party launchers. No revanced, newpipe. No viable alternatives to the Reddit app, which is terrible. It don't get me wrong. There are a lot of benefits including the customer service you mentioned, but the idea that the tab S10 ultra should be $300 is pretty crazy. I do think it's overpriced the way it is but I think it would be a reasonable package. If it was I don't know say 999 with the keyboard thrown in.
@@michaelcorcoran8768actually I can't download anything I want on my pixel it's blocked by Google but it's fine bc I don't like malware on my devices. Apple uses higher quality parts and you can see that by looking at the products in person. If you want to judge on specs tho that's cool to with android but all of my apple products have far outlasted any android or windows I ever had. As I said in my comment applecare is everything if it breaks they will give u something new whil every other company will tell u to f off. It's your money tho do what u want but I only buy apple for any product I can afford to. Again, do u I don't make money off what u buy so I don't care I just want my tech to work. All the specs in the world don't matter when it's in the garbage in 6 months.
