BUY TAB S9 HERE! howl.me/ckeYyA9QFuK (affiliate) ***EDIT: Front camera is 12MP, not 8MP. I accidentally said the wrong megapixel size. Sorry for any confusion,***
I bought the Plus model after I got a great deal using the links from the channel, I have owned tablets before many years ago from iPads to Asus transformer years ago to fire tablets from Amazon. Stopped using tablets for a while since I have a touch screen laptop and didn't think they were worthy devices. Boy, I was wrong. This tablet is a beast, and using the book cover keyboard makes it so worth it . All the extra perks that Samsung offers are also great. I have technically invested in the ecosystem from Samsung, and I can't be happier. The way devices work bergen each other is just impressive. Really great devices.
Great review! I agree about the battery life. it's impressive on the ultra too. Standby doesn't even drain the battery at all. Thanks for doing these videos.
Good review and reflective of my experience. I traded my Tab S6 Lite for the base S9 11 inch which came bundled with the slim keyboard. The keyboard is usable, but lacks many features. Nice to know about the screen protector.
My 11" base S9 has the 12 / 256 memory upgrade. I stuck a 512 Gb SD card into it for my files. I use it primarily to read music with a foot pedal. The 11" is a bit small but with the AMOLED screen it works perfectly. I just could not see $200 for the plus model. So far this tablet is working out really well for me.
Do you have to turn on the display before using the fingerprint sensor? Doesn't the fingerprint sensor activate automatically even with the display turned off?
Samsung has lost me as a tablet customer. I cant justify paying paying close to $900 after taxes in california for a 11inch android tablet. For the same money a person can get a Microsoft Surface device with may more functionality. Ill stick with my 11inch tab s7
I'm not so concerned about LTE connectivity on tablets because it costs extra on some cellular providers to have additional devices on your plan. Instead, I get free Hotspot on my phone so I just connect my tablet through my phone and I'm good to go.
Hey man, which screen protector are you using ? I can see that it is a matte anti glare. I have been trying to get a good matte screen protector my self
good to have tablets of all sizes in your stable: 11"/12.9" iPads and, now, 14.6" S9 Ultra (If only there was an iPad Mini Pro... but instead of the iPad Mini, you should just rock a Z Fold 5)
Can anyone please confirm is the base S9 is capable of HDR in Netflix/Prime??? that's a huge selling point for me or is it only available on the larger S9+ or Ultra???
Can you please help me. I'm confused between choosing s9 vs s9+. I'm a teacher and tired of carrying laptop to each classroom I go. My main purpose is portability, using word, excel and little drawing and videos presentation. I do multitasking also. Can I connect it to projector in classroom. Which one would suit me. S9 or s9+?
Finally, I got what I want, the review took forever, but it is here. Traded in the Tab S8 ultra and got the tab s9 with the keyboard for $120 ? It's super portable. I can't complain about the display size. I got a laptop 15.6" to do laptop things, but this is the best companion for travel and for school. I use TeamViewer to connect to my pc when the app I need is not found. I didn't buy the Tab s8 ultra for full price when I bought it, I got $500 trade in credit & $100 discount plus free case, and battery pack, and galaxy buds for about $550 (the tradein was Galaxy tab s6 which I got for free redeeming best buy points forgift certificate ) Galaxy tab s7 fe also is there, which I haven't used in a while. I might tradein for next gen tablet.
I'm a longtime Samsung Tab user, but I think these prices are ridiculous, and we've blindly accepted them because Samsung. Something like Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook can be a far more attractive and functional solution at a fraction of the cost.
The lenovo duet 5 isn't worth it tho. Its around $450, 1080p screen with low cpu performance, 64gb storage 4gb ram For a $700 tab s9 right now, 1600p, Snapdragon 8gen2, 256gb storage, 12gb ram, water resistance, better speakers. You get far more value for a little more
Actually for people who are sensitive to the brightness of an OLED screen all they have to do is what I do with my Samsung tablet I only run the brightness at about 25% and that's plenty bright for me
@@TechOdyssey I don't seem to notice any screen flickering on my Samsung phone or my Samsung tablet either mine doesn't do it or my eyes aren't sensitive to it
@@writerman242128GB: €969.99 256GB: €1099.99 Prices in Portugal. A teacher wouldn’t be able to afford it, and this tab would be great to use for school work. Well… it is what it is…
You exactly named my reason for buying it - the size reasonable, not a laptop, OLED (finally), the latest generation of SoC and all SW tricks of Samsung Fold in an unfolded state 😊
First I want to say any technology decision I make I watch your videos first. I ended up getting the s9+ only for the reason I use a tablet for my business and need the connectivity option, I agree the tab s9 would of been my first choice. I have always used ipad for my business so was little nervous on the switch. This device is quite a bit bigger than my last generation ipad other than size it has exceeded my expectations and the DEX mode allows me to hardly ever need my laptop. Thank you for the reviews it helps save time and money.
I just ordered my tab S9 I'm excited, I got $500 for trading in my tab S7+ and I got the free slim keyboard + the free upgrade to the 12gb ram/256gb storage
Yeah the battery life is OK but it's nowhere near as good as the 11" Tab S7 and S8. Even now with a 2.5 year old battery my Tab S7 gives me 1-1.5hrs longer SOT than my Tab S9 when web browsing and watching RU-vid content.
I'm a tech Enthusiast I just don't want to spend the money on this. The devices are totally awesome just too expensive for me😢 not that I can't afford it I figure it's just not worth the money yes I'm still a tech enthusiast😅
I agree, the 11 inch size is best for most regular tablet uses. The portability and ease of of using handheld make it great. I had a 12.4" tab because I thought I'd use it more with a keyboard but I really didn't. It's a huge upgrade over the S7 FE 6/128 I had before and they even gave me more in trade than I paid for it. I love the screen and performance and playing games games is awsome! Couldn't be happier. Thanks, Adam.
I dont know, I kind of think there is not much difference other than it being smaller than the s7+ because I have a Fold 4 I guess I dont use it as much as I imagined.

I got the Plus. Mainly because i use it when i play music Live, and i actually use it when i host Karaoke.
I traded my tab s8 in to get the tab s9. In my opinion its a worthwhile upgrade. The oled screen, processor and battery upgrades make this hands down the best android tablet on the market. I tried the ipad pro 12.9 and returned it the following day. The 11 inch size is perfect for me
I was excited to get the S9 until I learned it was Wifi only and did not offer and data plan capabilities. Very dissapointed in Samsung and for that reason I will not purchase it.
It's a great tablet but wow it's just too expensive. I paid little over $600 for the 256 GB S7 and that same amount of space with this tablet nears $1000. Just ridiculous. If you can get this on a good deal then yeah, go for it. But $1000 for an android tablet is ludicrous.
I have a S8 plus and the one thing i find really annoying is the two button hold down to switch off. It drives me nuts at times and it often takes me 3-4 attempts. What about the S9?
I am an iPad Air 4 user with just 2 use cases: 1. COD mobile 2. Content viewing (RU-vid, Netflix, Prime, Disney+Hotstar) Was planning to upgrade from iPad Air 4 to S9. Any suggestions? Since I have always used iPads and never used an Android tablet
@@heniekzpoczty5294 is it? Wow that puts me in a difficult spot. I really want an OLED tablet for content viewing, sad thing is that even after shelling out a bomb, the best you get from Apple is MiniLED
@@heniekzpoczty5294I went from iPad Air 2 to s9 for viewing content and could not be happier. Less black bar space and better multitasking functionality.
Hello there! I hope you are doing well. In response to your inquiry, the battery capacity of the tablet is 8400 mAh. Regarding note-taking capabilities, the tablet's battery life can support more than 10 hours of continuous usage. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
I don't think i would. I bought the S8+ for the amoled screen but had i known the S9 would have one i'd have waited for that. I think, not being made of money i will probably wait for the S10 now.
What are the no of software updates possible on tab s9? After talking to samsung officially, one gets only 3 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.
Yeah, that is something you need to consider. That has always been the case with android. That is one advantage Apple has since it’s devices are supported for a long time. I can see the M1 and M2 iPads have support for 5 + years no doubt.
@@theholt2ic219 the corrected update is that Samsung will provide 4 years of Software updates and 5 years of security updates on Tab S9 series. Yup what you pointed out is the main reason why people rather go with m1 or m2 chip iPad Pros. 8 gen 2 is a great processor but it won’t be able to keep up with either M1 or M2 in time to come. And apple offers ATLEAST 5 years of software and security updates. The support will go in for 7-8 years or even possibly more. But the reason why some people might choose tab s9 is the software and it’s multitasking abilities. iPadOS is quite limited.
I would never waste any my money on any of this stuff?😮 you do it because you demonstrate Samsung buys you the devices that totally awesome for you😅 you still have to work very hard making the videos I enjoyed the videos very much even though I won't buy the stuff I'm a tech enthusiast just like you.
