The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be released by Samsung later this year, however the Galaxy Z Fold 5 won't include one of the most requested upgrades.
Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), a credible tipster, claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 5's cover display will remain at 6.2 inches. The Galaxy Z Fold 4's is the same size. The Galaxy Z Fold's cover display is too narrow, making it difficult to type and operate several apps, and we have asked Samsung to make it wider, but it doesn't look like they'll do it with the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
The cover displays of most Chinese OEM foldable phones feature a larger aspect ratio, making them more like traditional candy bar-shaped smartphones in terms of usability. This aspect ratio improves the usability of apps like text editors and games without causing any problems with the user interface. Yet, Samsung doesn't appear to be following suit. Rather, the business is purportedly working on a solution to the screen crease and a flat-folding design while still maintaining the IPX8 designation for water resistance.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rumored to include a 6.2-inch cover display, a folding screen with a less obvious crease, an IPX8 rating, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Samsung chipset, and marginally enhanced cameras. It remains to be seen whether Samsung improves the battery life and charging velocity of the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
