I hate my Pixel phone. Their tensor chips are horrendous, they overheat constantly which will in turn, end up drastically damaging your battery health in the long run. They keep coming out with "updates" that are supposed to help with overheating issues, and they have helped for a short time in the past, but my phone has always ended up overheating again after a while. I am done with all Pixel phones, and will never come back if they continue with their horrible tensor chips. Picking up my z fold 5 tomorrow.
The Pixel Fold: an outer screen so good, you never need to open it. And why would you want to, considering the unpolished experience? For $1800?! GTHOH! The Z Fold is the mature offering with all the bells and whistles.
I have neither now. I had the 1st 4 Sammy Folds. After 4 years of typos Im done w/ tht Sammy form factor. It sucks. Imo neither are what we want. The dimensions just arent it. The Surface Duos just made sense. I liked it way more due to form factor BUT its software SUCKED. It was so buggy it was not possible to rely on. History repeats as Google takes Microsoft's place as the only competitor. We want the Sammy software, chip, & screen quality/brightness inside the Pixel form factor. Holding a folding phone like a book just works. Its so natural. Samsung knows this as they show it multitask roated w/ the crease running horizontal rather than vertical. They just didnt want to spend the money to give us the better form factor. Meanwhile the Pixel has the better body but is inferior in every other way. With poor trade deals ur paying more for a device w/ an unoptimized viewing experience, slow chip, poor battery life, & an over heating mess. Perhaps OnePlus finally does it right.
Samsung Fold front screen is thin and tall horrible and terrible for 2 hands. With the thin bezels you can’t hold it anywhere without accidentally touching the screen! The Google Fold needs to be refined to perfection!
The pixel is a true all rounder. The galaxy is a media phone for those who don't want to use the outer screen much at all which in reality doesn't work.
Lying ass, imagine the newest iPhone had the same bezels as the iPhone 3G lmao nobody would want it and with the current screen sizes on phones that would be a real brick to carry around
Yeah ppl are making a big deal about it it's a tablet when opened and all tablets have thick bezels and give you something to grip instead of having your hand directly on the screen .
The same way we don't get why you like something that looks like it's from 2012, a waste of space, is ugly, and looks cheap and awful to the eye, if you force yourself to like something bad doesn't mean normal people should
I never had any issue with my pixel fold,its never overheated ,the battery is very good and the camera is excellent.all the bs and backlash i listened about this device ,that wasnt true.for me its the perfect phone,much better design ,compatible and comfortable to typehandwritten.thanks google for your great work.
Main thing about displays at this point is nits aka brightness. At least for me. Idc if its 60, 90, or 120 refresh. 1080p or 24k. I cant tell. I dont care how small a bezel is. When the bezel is too small or the damn display curves u cant hold the damn thing w/o touching it. I have the Flip 5 because the brightness outdoors was supposed to be epic but it sucks. I have to be outside w/o shade & no phone gets bright enough yet. I dont have either of these. But I like some bezel. Not saying give me a football helmet w/ a screen inside but who gives af about a little bezel? Gives a place to hide the cam 2. However if the Pixel Fold isnt bright outside then im uninterested
You gave the edge to the Z Fold in 5 put of 5 categories but gave the Pixel Fold 5 the overall edge? How? I have bother devices and the Z Fold 5 is the better choice. It's faster, more responsive, has better optimized apps, better battwey and has the better overall camera. I didn't expect the Pixel to be better, it's the first edition. Samsung has refined the Fold over the last few years and it shows.
Apps don’t get optimized for fordable ! Obviously it’s not $1800 dollar worth. Apps aren’t get optimized as long as apple not start making fordable phone !
Yeah I love scrolling thru the internet on my fold 5 now and using apps. Aspect ratio of screen to app optimization reminds me of old school internet :) it's almost a Feng shui calming layout
pixel is a POS. The fold is refined and nice af but too tall/narrow. one day they'll dial it in so it looks like the S23 non ultra, but folds and has s-pen inside.
Once i hear a reviewer use imperial (inches), I give a thumbs down, and move on. It's like they've just arrived in the modern world. From the 1970's. 🤡🤡😂😂
It boils down to what matters most to you. So subjective as neither is worth $1800. Both have pros and cons but the deciding factor for me, having used the Fold 4 for some time, was that the front display on that was surplus to requirements as it was unusable for me most of the time. I do not want to keep opening the tablet to respond to messages and notifications. So the Pixel Fold wins for me and just waiting for the Honor and OnePlus before making a final decision, but the Galaxy Fold 5 was eliminated early on. But as I do not use the s-pen, do not play games and live in the UK so max brightness is not a significant feature, the Galaxy "advantages" are rather moot for me.
It honestly bothered me how small in width it is, pixel gives you an iphone screen and a customizable adventurous android os, well explained on your end!
Does Tom's Guide get any benefits from Samsung as the review was biased? I have the Z Fold and the Pixel Fold and the Pixel Fold is way better at multi tasking and is 2 devices (tablet & phone) while the Z Fold is one giant phone with a notification screen (which isn't possible to type on). I don't think the reviewer made any attempt to say that the 2 phones are inherently very different devices. The Pixel Fold more like the Surface Duo imo. Let's wait for the Oneplus Open which has the same passport aspect ratio as the Pixel. I predict Z Fold 5 will end up with slow sales and large discounts. I typed this on the outer screen of the Pixel Fold, try to do that on any Z Fold!
Stop lying bro, we appreciate you trying to defend the pixel fold, this is why companies don't grow because you keep giving them praises for doing things wrongly, if the cover screen is important to me that much then both the pixel fold and the z fold is not worth $1800 IMO why not just get your self a regular and better slab style phone than wasting your money, and yes I can type comfortably well on the cover screen of the z fold, and finally stop lying to us, you do not own any folding phone, I strongly doubt you own any folding phone, I feel you just went to check them out in their stores
Imo, when it comes to the outer display, it's really just an opinion. There will never be a better option as people will have better preferences. Anyone who has asked me for advice, I simply tell them to try to get a hands on experience first and then try to decide what their preference is. I will never understand why people get so emotional about it, lol. Get what you like, some people will like it as well some won't. I'm happy there are more and more options in the folding phone market, and I am excited for more. Everyone has their own needs/wants/preferences, and hopefully, there will be an option good for them. - I typed this on the outer screen on a Z Fold 5 😊 I think both phones are great because they fit the needs of different people.
