You're the only person on RU-vid so far who's managed to install the Techmatte/Amfilm properly, which is somewhat remarkable considering how simple they make it. So ~6 months on from when this video was made, are you still using that screen protector? If so, how has it held up over time, and is it still paired with that Lumion Gardien case?
ABCDEFR it actually held up for nearly 2 months before it cracked. I notice from protector to protector that these tempered glasses are very prone to cracking. Very sensitive. If you don't mind changing everytime it cracks then I'd give it a go, it had the best feel.
Thanks for the video comparisons, it does give a great general idea of the style and coverage of the various screen protectors. One important topic you unfortunately didn't cover which I was hoping for is regarding the curved edges. Im looking for a Non-case friendly tempered glass, which also covers the sensors, BUT I would like to make sure the curved edges actually curve with the glass of the phone properly. I had bought the Wimaha "Non-case friendly"protector that isn't that great, but the biggest problem I have is the curved edges which are actually Raised off the phones glass. There is a clear 1mm gap between the tempered glass and screen, causing all types of dirt and grime buildup, and is kinda protruding so like a sharp edge lifted off. Do you think you can shed some light on the protectors edges which were full coverage?? Thanks.
FauZ thanks man! And sorry I wasn't able to cover that. Didn't cross my mind but I did go back and look at them. The best one you're off with is the vigeer one. It covers from top to bottom and had great sensitivity. But frankly, you'll have the dust on the sides of it as well, probably not top and bottom but it might be the best option. It covers the sensors and camera. And I agree, wihama non case friendly was terrible!
Waleed Amer Thanks for the response. Based on what you said about the techmate or whatever one, I'm really tempted to give that a shot... If you think the side curves of that glass are more flush and contouring to the phone than the vigbee or whatever one, I'd be willing to sacrifice some coverage for a more uniform feel. What do you think in terms of comparing them? Think you can maybe do a more detailed head to head video from all angles of these 2, or even 3, even if just pictures to get a better idea? I think lots of people are out trying to find the best tempered glass protectors for the note and would help quite a few... See alot of talk in various forums.
I am personally using the techmatte right now with a case and I'm having no issues with it. It hasn't cracked on me yet, very strong glass. If i take in to wet areas, water does not get under it. But if i take off the case i can notice the dust on the sides. Not on top or bottom but definitely on the sides. Techmatte also covers the sensors and camera on the top. Vigeer however leaves no gap on the top of bottom and is not as clear as the Techmatte. In terms of comparing them Ill be flat out that the techmatte is superior. Case friendly too if you ever decide on that. However, vigeer is still very good don't get me wrong. I can do some comparison pics and put em by tonight for you!
I followed the link to purchase the Wihama Case Friendly $9.99, & ran into a problem there are 2 listed it says version 1 $5.99 & version 2 $7.85, then I followed the link to the not case friendly your reviewed & that 1 says $5.99. I don't know why I think $5.99 Version 1 is the 1 you reviewed? - Help! Great video BTW you made everything so easy to understand, Thanks.
You're welcome! Poetic is very good but I found that techmatte was very competitive and I found techmatte a lot clearer and I changed from poetic to techmatte.
Great video, I just installed the techmatte amfilm and I think it's great everything works fantastic, But I am seeing this rainbow effect in the center of the screen on my Note 8, Is there a way to get rid of it? Does yours show a rainbow effect? Thanks.
On my own techmatte I didn't notice any rainbow effect at all. For some, however, I noticed that rainbow effects disappeared after a while. And thank you!
Waleed Amer thanks for the reply, this morning I'm not seeing it but I will check it again later. Truth be told I ordered the Whitestone also and 50 bucks went down the drain as when I placed the glass on the pin the adhesive touched the screen and bubbled up, and I even watched the tutorials over and over.
