Samsung Note 9 vs Samsung A9 2018 Speed Test, Design & Camera Comparison

Great Review! Thumbs up! But Actually, its pointless to compare the A9 with S9 or Note 9. Or any other "flagship" phones that have "flagship SOC's" Flagships are build from the very beginning to be the absoloute best phone that a company has to offer! Many people dont unterstand what Samsung wanted to achieve with their 4 camera Implementation. First of all, mid-rangers these days are closer to flaghsips than ever. You can see this in the global market. Mid-range phones outsell their flagship counterparts. Why? Well the gap is nearly closed nowadays. Why do you think Samsung is focusing on the A series? The A9 2018 was ment to be a phone that allows "adaptability", "flexibility" It was never ment to be the "best camera smartphone" and Samsung NEVER said smth like this! FACT! Its a phone that has cameras for every Situation. The A9 has a similiar setup just like the A7, but with better picture and video quality thanks to the fourth lens wich is used for Bokeh but adds overall information to the other lenses aswell. ( this may very depending on your opinions but in a direct comparison A9 wins ) The A9 was never ment to be the best Smartphone. Its the best A series phone right now, thats true. And it gets the best specs. I myself, bought the Lemonade Blue one. Compared to my A5 2016 ( wich still is a legendary, if not the most legendary A series phone ) its a jump. The Note 9 has the Exynos 9810 or SD845. Highend processors that are more powerfull. The SDm 660 packed with 6 or 8 GB of RAM on the A9 performs very well in daimy usage, nearly on flaghsip level. In day-to-day usage you WILL NOT notice the difference to a flagship chipset. Gaming is great on this phone. Doesnt matter what you play.. PUBG? SUBWAY SURFER? FORTNITE? Runs about totally fine on the A9 without the phone heating up. Thats the point with highend SOC's. Brute compututing power resulting in heating up and forcing the power to go down. In a Benchmark test between A9 and Note 9, the N9 won the first 5 benchmarks. It was so hot that it cooled down the power output. After the 7th benchmark A9 performed better and it always stayed normal without heating. Upper Mid-Range SOc's are great. In direct comparison, The camera is not better than flagship models but totally good and enough in daily usage. You wont really notice difference especially if you are an expert like me and can tweak the photos with apps you"ll get absoloutr great pictures. Low-Light pictures are okay. But just that. Wouldnt recommend low light pics with either telephoto or wide ankle. The main reason behind the A9 was adaptability. You have one lens, for every Situation. Telephoto to zoom in, with fairly satisfactioning pictures. Ultra Wide Ankle for group pictures or Mountain pics, or a group pic from your friends marriage. What S and Note 9 cant. Ultimately the 24 main and selfie cameras are good enough for the daily user. The 5MP shooter ads overall information and allos Bokeh. If you seek best picture Quality buy Note 9, S9+ or P/Mate 20 Pro. The A9 however, is satisfactory and decent. And half that price range. And in the mid-range and some flagship models you wont get this quality! The screen is super sharp thanks to AMOLED. P20's, Xr's lc-displays look very weak compared to this beautiful FHD+ SAMOLED Display. And honestly there are just minor differences compared to Note and S9. You lack HDR and HDR looks better with content. But with OLED already on your Display the differences are small. Vivid and vibrant colours. Deep Blacks and absoloutely sharps. Still behind S and Note Series. But no problem if compared to P/Mate 20 /Pro and X/XS Displays and other devices ( Sony LG Oneplus etc ) And here its important to note that playing games in 4K wont really look better on Note9. I was destryoying my Nose as I pressed my eyes on both dispays and the A9 has am awsome Display and I couldnt see a difference. . Whoever wants themfself to believr they can see difference is delusionsl. As for daily usage, its awsome. Build quality is premium and it feels great and the colour variants will draw more attention. Batterylife in the A series is as always untoppable. All in all yeah, Note 9 and s9 are better. But in day to day, A9 is the clearly winner.

Not a big delay..like A9 is some milli seconds late. but actually, the price difference between both is not acceptable. I would chose A9..

A9 is the best camera, I have a one right now

I just picked up A9 on sale for a bit less than 400$. I'm not really too much into cameras, and reason why I picked it up is 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. But yeah, of course that Note 9 is faster, but it's not really a major difference, so I don't mind it, and A9 is just a bit better value for money in my opinion.

If anything, this video is proof that you don't have to spend an arm and leg to have a beautiful looking, flagship like phone. I actually like the A9 color much better. Very unique, great design. I can't stand curved screens and can't stand notches. These days you can only purchase those phones. It's only a plus that A9 comes with dual sim which for me is excellent as I spend months both in Europe and the USA. For my needs A9 has everything I wanted.

I like how the A 2018 series took a lot of liberties with the design, experimenting with metal unibodies, glass sandwiches, punch hole displays, color gradients and what not. I could say each phone in the 2018 A series was unique. Then the 2019 A series, well, everything from A10 to A70 follows the same aesthetic and the same materials. What happened Samsung? Look at this A9, it looks similar and yet distinct from the Note 9, like it has it's own identity. To this day, anyone spots an A6+, A8+ and A9 they marvel at the design and say "That's a Samsung!" But the A 2019 series? Except the A80, all of those seem like they hired designers from one of the Chinese companies.....

Only difference is you can draw on a Note series but not on A series. There is your additional 400 dollars.

Its a big sense compare the price also rather than performing the performance of the 2 unit. Samsung Note series the software will be spoil after 2 to 3 years and its waste of money unlike the A9.

Cant see the pnt of comparing a9 with note 9....u compare a a flagship with a midrange....indeed a9 is an amazing phone but it s midrang after all....i own both a9 and s10plus...they r both perfect for their range....the differences r minors and an everyday user will not get annoying if a9 is some milideconds slower than s10plus or note 9... do comparisons of a9 with corresponding midrange of other brands

Note 9 is just a beast compare to that A9 lol..and a flagship remains a flagship...if you use the A9 for one year you'll see that it start to slow down and lag but flagship dont slow down neither lag ..and the 2 camera on the note 9 is enough to beat that 4 camera on the A9
