GUYS this is the only review for the newer models of the odyessy g3, if you heard any concerns or issues regarding the monitor it is the OLDER versions
I had the "other" g3 and can tell you that it had a looooot of ghosting, and actually died after 6 month of use. Just received this new model of the g3, with the weird thing a the bottom, and the panel is way better, with bigger view angels and less ghosting, almost nothing
@@tvchef that's my guess too, that they somehow improve the VA panel on this new iteration of the G3. So far so good, I'm planning getting another one next week to have a triple monitor setup for simracing
Hey, really nice video detailed explanation and everything (subbed to the channel as well) But I'm kinda confused if i should go with this monitor or not, i will be using it mainly for gaming hooking it up with my xbox series s, might use it for some work stuff like canva nothing too serious, so is it a good option for me?? Also what are you suggestions on Acer VG240YS monitor??
Thanks for watching and subbing! The G3 is great... not sure if we just got lucky but I did not have the ghosting issues others have reported. I think for the series s you would be fine with this monitor. You might be able to save a couple of bucks going with this LG monitor: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z5Tn-ivTk-c.html I have not used the Acer VG but from its specs I think you would have a very similar experience to the G3!
@@tvchef Thx for suggesting the LG monitor but here it's just 10 bucks cheaper and its renewed so not much of a difference... And regarding the ghosting problem, i did a bit of searching and the monitor others are reviewing has completely different stand and the down bezels, cz the monitor in this video has this "speaker like" lower bezels whereas the others have it completely flat, also the model number for this particular model that you are reviewing is "LS24AG300NWXXL" while the other one is modeled as "LF24G35TFWWXXL" So that might explain the ghosting issue i guess lol
I already have 3 of these monitors im wonder if they will work with the next level racing quad monitor stand? the back seems a little odd so i'm not sure if only vesa mounts fit this monitor or what.
Great question... honestly they are very similar in price but with AOC you get a larger 27" display vs 24"... I'd probably go that route all things being equal!
@@tvchef Yeah I know about the price and the 24 would maybe fit me more because of my desk space an so on. But j was just wondering about the Performance and if the AOC has any issues with ghosting
is it good beginner level monitor for ps5? I have a limited budget and I would be very grateful to you if you could recommend me a low/mid budget gaming monitor?
Yes you would like it! Not sure what is cheaper in your market/county but this link will take you to a choice page where you can click on the AOC & ASUS 24" Gaming Monitors: geni.us/tdhlItb #CommissionsEarned
So when you tilt the monitor landscape my screen stays horizontal so if I was going to watch a RU-vid video it wouldn't let me because the screen didn't change when I tilted it
Correct. You can physically rotate the monitor but unlike your phone screen it won't automatically adjust. You need to go to your computers display settings and adjust the screen!
Looking at purchasing this monitor for my set up. Can you use this monitor vertically? Does the mount rotate 90 degrees or will a separate mount need to be purchased for that?
Please how set good colors? Nvidia cotrol panel, monitor settings? Desktop is a little washed same as web browser, movies on youtube like „animals in 4k” color washed. I did some setting to and colors are better but still its not like real. Also when I check Lamberg web site test it shows bad contrast, bad gamma but with „correct” settings color looks just bad. Please help
I would try to manfully change profiles/settings from the display for the colors vs nvidia control panel. If also might want to look into the displaycal software and tools we used in this video!
There is ghosting on this monitor... seems like it has drastically improved from previous versions of this monitor! I am not sure the differences between this and the S24AG300NRX so I would expect a very similar experiences since they are both Samsung displays!
Is VA close to OLED? Cause i love deeper blacks but IPS come off as grey and it doesnt look good when compared to my OLED Iphone screen. Especially when playing horror and dark looking games it doesnt look immersive
Hi im having a question right now and if you help me with it , you help me alot. Soo this monitor support 120hz on ps5 or not? Cause at resolution information it said 60hz
The G3 has a 144 hertz refresh rate, an LED Display, and it is a little lighter. The G32A has a 165 hertz refresh rate, a VA Display, and weight a little more than the G3! -MB
hello! i just got mine and it's been great so far. for some reason I can't get the monitor's speakers to work. Does it even have speakers? i don't really intend on using the monitor's audio, but it'd be nice to know how they sound like. anyone know if they can help me out?
At the time of this comment I would go with the Gigabyte as it is $20 cheaper on Amazon: geni.us/TnyHpsv (affiliate link) and you get 165hz or up to 180 if you overclock! I haven't used this Gigabyte in person but it would appear the colors would be better!
How do I know the version of this monitor? Someone is selling me this monitor but I've read there are 2 versions. An older that has a lot of ghosting so it sucks, and a newer that I guess is the one of the video. I don't want to ruin my purchase since I'm building my whole set up myself. 😔😔👍
I would see if you can find a date on it and if its probably within the last 2 years its the new one? I don't know to be honest. Maybe someone else can shed light on it!
@@tvchef someone also said in a comment if I turn off freesync I can get 144hz on hdmi. I just wanted to make sure these Hz are doable with PS5 before I purchase the monitor. I can’t seem to find a monitor that will be at 144-165hz using just Hdmi for PS5 😔
is this monitor a good pair with a gaming laptop? im planning to buy this monitor but idk if its a good pair with my laptop for fps gaming. my laptop has a 3050 4gb with a i5 12gen
Hi, i just bought this good looking monitor and did everything as you, but the only problem I'm having right now is that the monitor isn't working as it should i mean it doesn't show applications or display home screen, it shows "check the cable connection and the settings source" screen. Please tell me what does it mean please please
It’s good bro I’ve been using it on Xbox it’s running smooth had no problems but looking to switch to pc but wasn’t sure if this monitor supports dual screen gaming
I have my laptop (display port to usb-c) and ps4 (hdmi) connected but it doesn’t connect automatically to the laptop and I have to plug and unplug. Can anyone help me with that?
Bought this but had to use Nvidia Control Center to change it to use the Nvidia color settings for Desktop applications or it looked washed out and super bright like it was auto set as a TV bc it only has an hdmi cable. Had to reduce the gamma there to 0.6 and the monitor brightness to 60, it was bugging my eyes.
Select Start > Settings > System > Display, and choose a screen orientation from the drop-down list labelled Orientation. support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-screen-orientation-f7ab1ff8-971d-58a5-b8ee-bc113bbf3acb#:~:text=Select%20the%20Start%20button%2C%20then,list%20next%20to%20Display%20orientation.
I've seen in forums that this monitor has a lot of ghosting problems and it has me confused. When I looked at the comments of the users who bought it, they all gave more than 4 points out of 5. Is there any ghosting as a result?
I am perplexed by this as well... some comments on this very video lead me to believe they maybe have 2 versions and the newer one is not bad??? I don't know I was expecting it to be bad but at least on mine its not terrible!
I am sorry I don't understand the question! Will you ask it again? What stays the same? Also ask it in a new comment/thread so we can track it and reply!
I don't see that on the listing linked in our video description... this is what it says: What's in the box Power Cable DP Cable And that is true from our experience as shown in our video!
Hi, Great video. I jsut purchased the odyssey G3 but i have problems connecting it with my laptop. the image and text are not clear. Please, i can i update the firmware .
Sorry to hear that Boris. I don't know what's going on for you... might need to play around with your laptop settings. Do you have another computer you can try the monitor out on to make sure its not defective?
Yes, the Samsung Odyssey G3 supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) at 120Hz on the Xbox Series X. This feature helps to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering by syncing the monitor's refresh rate with the console's output. cnl
