I've used this, it gave me peace of mind knowing nobody's snooping in my phone. It takes a bit of time to get in it if there's a lot on your phone, took five minutes for me (more than the two minutes it claims). On the homescreen there's a banner that reads 'maintenance mode' after it is activated. The maintenance person was very confused 😂, he even called me how to get out of it, because he wanted to test if the phone was working after he fixed it. I told him he could test everything in this mode (and he could). Great feature, should be part of Android and not just OneUI

@@docapril3621 it uses a seperate account and you can't install anything, but someone will probably find a way to hack it. I trust the maintainance person won't try that, they probably don't even have the time. I do miss that the Samsung Members app can't be accessed, the app contains a test centre where sensors, cameras, loudspeakers etc can be tested

I’m not seeing this option in my Note 20 Ultra. I have OneUI 5.0 but still not getting this option. Any idea why it’s not available?

I've always been looking for something like "Guest Mode" which Galaxy don't have, but now I see this is just like a guest mode w/ even more privacy. Am I correct?! Also will any of the functions of the phone like Internet browsing, incoming/outgoing text, calls, camera, etc., be disabled during the Maintenance Mode. Thank you

And what prevents the maintener to exit the maintenance mode? The maintener will ask for my password anyway before it is sent to maintenance. So we're back to square one.

It looks like maintenance mode doesn't apply a password, so they won't be able to turn it off.

I agree with James, if you put your phone in maintenance mode and restart, as soon as you leave your phone to be repaired the phone will prompt them for a pin regardless of what mode its in. Once they're logged in maintenance mode that's great, but to turn off maintenance mode all they need is the pin, there's nothing stopping anyone from going in and out of maintenance mode as long as they have your pin.. it seems like there should be a double verification for this mode

Set your security settings to have a pattern, fingerprint recognition, or facial recognition. If they want to turn off Maintenance Mode, they essentially have to have access to your phone by normal mean. He even mentions this in the video saying, "they would need your finger print to exit..." Additionally, the mode offers a log that shows when it was entered, what apps were opened, and when it was turned off. So if they did somehow turn it off, you could see, and then take necessary action against them.

Hi, when I go to battery & device care, this battery maintenance showed up on the bottom of my Samsung galaxy device, my issue is I lost the daily automation at the right corner of the screen, where you can do daily automation and restart on the date & time I want it. There's an automation turn off or on at the lower screen, but it doesn't show the time no more, how can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

@SouthernLife7772 you might be mistaken for something else. Worldwide samsung didn't give maintenance mode in note 20 ultra 5g. I already contacted technical support via email and mentioned it. I got a reply saying in future update it will be included. As of now none of it has it.

Will changes to setting made in maintenance mode be retained even after exiting it? Can maintenance mode be turn on remotely using other device through Samsung account in the event we are unable to turn it on before phone become usable e.g. sudden battery dead screen blackout?

Maintenance Mode stays in maintenance mode until turned off. Similar if you logged into another profile.

How is it different from Secure Folder?

You can place this within secure folder and they won't see it, but it's just a folder, not your phone. They still can see everything on your regular side of the device. Contacts, images, calendar, your accounts and all. This gives them your phone but basic and nothing personal

That would be too short and not giving enough details. I say "around 2 minutes" cause most are 2, 3 or 4 mins. Which is near and around 2. Plus my intro has a perfect ring to it haha. All about marketing man. 😁
