Thanks for making this video. It was really helpful. These days phone reviewers are pretty much reduced to reviewing cameras and nothing else. As a person who cares about UX design and animations, this video is godsend to me. Keep doing similar themed videos. Subscribed.
Samsung animations lack responsiveness like the pixel or iPhone. The animation stops abruptly. For example, in the notification panel and on the application screen.
You got a nice set of eyes .. i also noticed when he chooses network in settings it lags for like a 0.5 sec and then he tapped the same on pixel after he did on samsung and both popped their settings at the same time
I know that many people love Google's design... I don't like it that much. I wonder if I would have swtiched to Android with this kind of design. It's the design and the screen of the S6 Edge that really seduced me at first.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the best phone ever made up until the present moment in time. There is nothing you cant do with this phone. It excels in every single possible way. Not just phone of the year but phone of the decade in my opinion!
For the lockscreen animation of the Pixel 8 Pro is considerably laggy when faceunlock is turned on, but if you turn off faceunlock, the lockscreen animation is back to being smooth. I think this is a Android 14 issue because before with my Pixel 7 Pro with face unlock turned on with Android 13, the lockscreen animation was smooth, after upgrading the Android 14 the lock screen animation became laggy. So to sum up, if you turn off face unlock the lockscreen animations are back to being smooth. Hopefully Google addresses this issue in November patch🙏
You can enable home screen rotation on the pixel by going to home settings. Long press on the home screen. Pixel animation are better though, i think One Ui is too heavy they need to trim it down by a much.
I went into developer options on my S23 Ultra and turned off animations completely. Who's laughing now? I know it's placebo but the phone just seems lightning fast.
What I noticed is for all the talk of One UI being the opposite of Pixel UI, it's actually the closest. The Chinese UIs all look like iOS clones, Samsung and Pixel are the only big Android phones that have retained their identity. Instagram camera opening was smoother on Samsung. Another thing as you said, Pixel UI is more bouncy and One UI uses blur better. I see no real differences in terms of fluidity. Difference was bigger in android 13, but not anymore.
@levipb1403 that's how people jump to conclusions. My wife uses a pixel 7, I've probably used it as much as she has. Try rebooting the Pixel, open the camera and close it. Then do the same on a Samsung. You actually think a beta will be more stable than a stable build? Does your hate know no bounds? SMH.
@@HomiebeaR_ I am a Samsung user, I talk for experience. Every single year they'll finally fix performance and animations and every year is the same story
In the beginning, on the lockscreen wake up, did you say someting like the Pixel wasn't acting right?? When obviously the galaxy wouldn't even do anythign after 3 tries? Lol
I love the Samsung OneUI Animation and Smoothness, but Pixel lock screen features are richer than Samsung, in some places, Pixel looks good with a bit of bouncy animations. Samsung must include a Portrait clock style and some last-used lock screen styles as recent previews so that we can switch from one to another easily without worrying about fixing the clock, clock style, or locations of weights. And if possible then some features too, like magic sound easier, enhanced clipper same as Pixel "we can drag pictures objects and placements, best group photos feature "selecting the best from the multiple photos", massage enhancements options "AI improved msg options with moods", Ambient Sound Catcher, Live translation support even for third-party applications… Samsung can be unbeatable with those options.
well we all know that Google Tensor is more focus on AI just like samsung humming bird(former name of exynos). btw but wow one ui animation is getting better but let see in beta 8 if it has newer animations I envy pixel ui animations though.
2:44 that color choices on notification background in contrast to that blurred and translucent background somehow reminds me of touchwiz. It just looks awful to look at.
1:18 are your saying the bounce animation on the Pixel is horrible? If so that's an odd take. Pixel animations are lively and expressive rather than One UI is very utilitarian.
You can tap on always on display clock till 2024 on the galaxy and you wont wake up the screen, also pixel hasn't got double tap to wake the screen, only 1 tap like iPhone has😂
Thanks for an amazing video. Can I request you to do a comparison between google pay and apple wallet. I am desperate to move over to samsung but cant go back to carrying my wallet. With apple wallet I have not carried my wallet for 3 years now. Can you comp which is better. Thanks so much
@jordanjackson8873 I prefer smoother/slower animations over faster animations. Not only is it more visually pleasing to me, but it also helps with micro stutters and jitters throughout Samsung's UI.
