I feel like the S22 ultra has better colors in the mountains and road, better shadow detail. S23 over exposed or blowing out highlights, even the snow looks better on the S22. Yes you might get better details from S23 if you zoom in or pixel peep but just overall looks and sharing to social media the S22 colors look better
The 22 ultra had that same problem with the vedio recording color , it had to much of a high sharpness in color. 6 months later they did a software update to fix it. The s23 ultra just needs an software update as well to correct the high level of color to give it more of a natural color just like the one the s22 ultra got. they just need to update that small issue with the s23 ultra
@System Hacks no is not is level down a much. The same have Note 4 Edge 6 years ago. Absolutely Nothing new . Note edge got ready use front and back camera at the same time. You can use Google and the same time use camera at Note edge all that was 6 years ago.
Amazing review, right to the point ! Direct comparison in the real world ! S23 Ultra is a superior phone with newest hardware but usage experience is exactly the same ! There are only minor improvements that they are not noteable and in some cases, S22 Ultra seems better maybe cause it is more matured ! The stabilization of S23 Ultra is insane, but again, you notice that only if they are side by side ! The only downgrade is on wireless charge, S23 Ultra has 10watts while S22 Ultra has 15watts ! Real and detailed review, you got a new subscriber !
Thanks mate appreciate it 👍 Definitely S22 Ultra is very capable but It's still early software usually first update is coming with camera improvements 👍
Yeah mate s23 ultra tends to brighten up images and videos in that way it drops the details in white areas but overall video was at side of s23 ultra in my opinion 10 percent better than s22 ultra.
@@kpehe100 i have owned s10 plus, s10 5g and s21 ultra. It improves overtime. I am a former iphone user and samsung phones has so much features to offer compare to iphone. So glad i switched.
Wonderful review! And early enough to beat out many of the big tech reviewers. Simple, to the point, all the information I was looking for. Thank you. The S23 Ultra will undoubtedly get some updates, but as it stands, in my opinion, the S22 wins as far as image quality is concerned. The Snapdragon 8gen2 allows the S23 Ultra better stabilization (although, it's restricted to 1080) and better auto focus, but the S22 Ultra's auto white balance allows for better definition in the snow. For now. Keep in mind, both the S22 and S23 will see major improvements to the camera software for years to come. The additional megapixels don't amount to much. They are smaller, and binned anyway in most camera settings. There is additional detail in the foreground, as mentioned by another user, but this could be due to software and the superior auto focus. However, the S23 ultra really comes through on the 10x and 100x zoom. All in all, this year saw technical improvements, but the implementation as of now provides just a few incremental and inconsistent advantages. Not enough to consider upgrading for me, personally. They are both magnificent phones, capable of near professional quality shots, and I can't wait to see more content on and from them Thanks again! You've gotten another sub from me.
Много добро сравнение, евала батьо продължавай в същия дух. Много се чудих какво да си взема, но мисля да си закупя S23 Ultra, тъй като съм с почти 5 годишен телефон(Huawei p20 pro).
Thank you for this comparison! Is it me or when the S23 Ultra has a better stabilization, the HDR is slightly worse? At the beginning of the video, especially, when we see the mountains. Either it's a way to treat the images faster, or it's just something that will be fixed through a software update.
I totally agree! The S22 has had many updates. And its 108 mp sensor was around for longer. That's what I meant when I said something that will be fixed with a software update. ;))
Lol. Why are judging the pre-released software? S22 ultra is 1 year old and got tons of software updates. S23 ultra is 2 days old😂. How many updates did it receive?
@@faisalrahman9236 I haven't had an experience where Samsung did a camera update and work. What you get from the box is what you get but I think these are pre-release phones
@@faisalrahman9236 I can only agree; that's what I've just said. However, it is still pertinent to compare a new phone with its predecessor, keeping that in mind.
The photos of the main camera are better from the S23U / more details in the foreground (pay attention to the tire tracks). The quality with 10x zoom is dramatically improved on the S23U, and the digital zoom is also much better. When filming in the snow, the S23U doesn't have the highlights as well under control as the S22U, but stabilization is much improved. The new front camera leaves me with mixed impressions. I'll need more impressions to make a judgment.
@System Hacks Yes, I know this from my S21U. When it was new at least every 4 weeks an update with changes / improvements came... Samsung is able to go a high stroke rate.
In general the S23 is better, but - The selfie has much more detail on the S22, also the skin color on the face if just off with the S23. - The snow white balance is too cold on the S23. - The microphone is in a different league on the S22, it's much better. Sounds like the S23 noise filtering is extremely aggressive there. These seem to be software issues... waiting for fixes and it'll be fine. Thanks for the quick review, very useful material here.
I agree on the selfie camera. I'm debating whether to cancel my order of the S23U because it just seems like the stabilization is better...not worth the price just for that.
To be honest I didn't expect big camera improvement s22 Ultra was already very good, personally I ordered it because of CPU just I'm sick of those exynos through the years.
Whats up with the focus at 4:40 and 1:00? Just got rid of my Moto Edge 30 Ultra because of their screwed up focus implementation. Does this happen often?
Great work on the video. This is what I've been wanting to see. The S22 Ultra did very well compared to the newer model. But this is no surprise to me. Although the stabilization has been greatly improved on the S23 Ultra and that is nice to see. Also, there is no contest at 100x zoom as the S22 Ultra is maxed out at that point and the S23 Ultra has another 100xs worth of zoom left in the tank. I don't plan on upgrading until the S24 Ultra because I like skipping every other model and I can only imagine what I'll be in store for. Overall Samsung has done a great job here, tho I don't think it makes much sense to upgrade if you have an S22 Ultra. Just my opinion. Liked and subscribed. Cheers 🍻
Thank you a lot for this conprehensive video! It helps me took the final decision on which phone I want to buy. The camera mean a lot for me but I don't think it's worth the money as s22 ultra did a great job, sometimes even better.
S23U has better detail as we all expected. However, S22U has better color overall. It can change as S23U updates. Something doesn't change is, S22U has a better front camera. A big question is, how often do you get to use 100x telephoto function? You really got to hold your breath to take a steady shot of 100x photo. You should consider that question if you want an upgrade from S22U. One of the reasons I still have my own camera and use my S22U as a sub.
Confió más en las comparaciones de los canales de USA, felicitaciones por esta comparación neutral y realista. No veo muchos cambios de una generación a otra pero no voy a negar que la estabización del S23U es brutal.
Does the S23 + and S23 ultra share the same optical image stabilization software/hardware ? In other words, would the stabilization on the S23 plus be as good as on the ultra you think ? Thanks
Sadly can't answer you that because I didn't check them. Definitely s23+ will have better stabilization then s22 but probably not the level of s23 ultra.
Thank you! Excellent comparison. Excellent work. My conclusion is that there is no significant improvement at all! Confirm my suspicion when I bought the S22 Ultra, which presented such a quality that its technological improvement will not be so easy.
Both are same slightly better white balance and improvements in Video stabilization… Other than I couldn’t find any difference between those and front footages are better from s22 ultra…
@@SystemHacks I have question wht wld be future of smartphones… now everyone it’s in peak.. all manufacturers just slightly giving improvement’s to new devices but no changes like what Steve Jobs introduce… smartphones are still in his ages…
Thanks for the video! Can you do a camera MACRO shot/video test for s22 ultra vs s23ultra with snow please? Need to see which one is better to capture the crystal shape of the snow. ❄️
Stabilization in the vertical plane on the S23 Ultra is incredible and gimbal like, but this and night video at 4K 60 (which was at last for a Samsung flagship detail dropout free to my eyes) asides this video only showed me that people need to respect the S22 Ultra's camera performance. It has had a year of camera updates and tuning and is a brilliant flagship device, that in some ways is pointing the S23 Ultra's camera as to where it needs to go.
I've noticed some substantial chromatic aberration on the 100x photo of the graffiti, while the S22 had none. Is it because the AI model is different or does the S23 10x lens hve a more pronounced effect? Feels strange that the successor to a flagship phone has such a bad CA compared to the former. Do you have any clues? Thx
For me that 100x zoom is all about the AI and Samsung just want to differentiate the two phones with software processing. Other than AI I think telephoto lens are exactly the same.
@Swapnil Jadhav Vlogs with pleasure Yes if you invest that much just go for the best and hassle free version (which is the s23u) you won't be disappointed (I come from a s22 basic and am now using the s23Ultra so and I can tell you in 24hrs I am really impressed by everything this phone delivers in term of battery, performances etc...)
I agree that there are actually improvements on the cameras, especially the stabilization in the S23 Ultra. Although it is noticeable, I think it isn't worth the change. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and still, I feel like it isn't worth the price investment
Honestly don't see much of a difference. I'll hold on to the S22 Ultra and see what the S24 Ultra brings to the table. The S22 Ultra after all the updates, to me, is absolutely perfect right now!
Not much of a change that justifies upgrading from 22U to 23 U unless you work with video. I must agree that stabilization is the most noticeable improvement.
Great video. For Sure the S23 ultra is the big winner but not by far. I ll stay with me s22 ultra. I think it's good enough for this year and maybe also the next
Stablization is slightly improved on S23 Ultra but other than that there's absolutely no reason to upgrade from S22 Ultra ... I will happily skip this for S24 Ultra
Looks great but they removed sd card, forcing people to pay for storage. Always removing features and finding ways to charge people for it differently.
Video stabilization is obviously much better but, really, if you are trying to make a professional quality movie, are you really going to opt to use a mobile phone? For vacation, family, etc shots, not having a perfectly smooth video is really not a big deal and you can stabilize in editing. The S23 has slightly better detail but I think the color and shadow/highlight is better on the S22. In a lot of cases if you shoot using Exper Raw and do your own processing in post on the RAW image, the end result difference between the two would be negligible. So If I had to choose a brand new S23U or a new or refurb S22U at 2/3rds the price, I'd get the S22U.
You have s22u exynos? Huge difference with the stabilization. The rest seems identical i mean color balance...... No .. now i saw the photo. Big difference and you are from Russia or similar, you must have exynos like my s22
well the s22U is now pretty mature and has been improved a lot, but if u really want a better battery and those improved specs and camera (which will even get better soon with updates, here is a pre release software demo) you can upgrade, the S23U will last you for a very long time
I have a S22 Ultra and I can say that optimisation it's not that big over the year. This is the business they will sell a lot new S23 Ultra but in 3 months from now we will start to see renderings of S24... One year from now we will see the same comparison between S23 and S24 and the hype starts all over again!
There is already a battery test for the S23 Ultra and it lasted for 11 hours and 15 minutes. Battery life is more or less on par with the iPhone 14 Pro Max
