How is called the device you used to bring battery back to live ? The connecteur to go on + and - look like a multimeter but multimeter dont inject power so im wondering

hello. i have a s6 edge and it doesnt charge, it doesct power on , it does nothing to any button combination. i changed the battery and still nothing, just a purple LED stayed on for about 2 hours. What coud be the problem here?
