Samsung S95B vs QN90B side by side comparison QD OLED vs Neo QLED 

Just fyi, you might have captured this video in hdr but sorry to say its not uploaded in hdr on youtube. Watched on my LG oled and yes its in 4k but no hdr logo popped up like it should. And I checked the stats for nerds and your color is bt709 and not bt2020. But good comparison video though.

@@ANTIQUELEGEND82 that's literally what he just said haha. How did you read what he put and it completley fly over your head. Yet you responded saying it isn't in hdr. He just explained come back later as it's taking a while to process in hdr which happens sometimes.

@@ANTIQUELEGEND82 yes. It will show bt709 until the video is processed by youtube and it will show HLG. When you see stats for nerds it is showing you playback information rather original upload video source. I hope it gets processed soon.

what about the light reflection? Is the difference big? Is the s95b as reflective as for example the Lg C1?

I've compared these exact 2 tvs side by side and the qn90b was definitely brighter in all tests without a doubt. These tests can be manipulated to favour either tvs so be careful. Best to go check for yourself when deciding. I did and bought the qn90b based on my own evaluation and the fact that the s95 does not come in 75" size.

Checked both out in person in various modes and went with the S95B. It was just no contest in my opinion

Apparently Oled does better in dark and qled in brighter spaces (i mean like living room etc)

Okay troll, QD uses keys energy then woled and will last longer. It also has pixel shift technology. People have tested for image retention also and after 20 minutes it didn't have any.

Its actually not beating it in brightness. The MiniLED is brighter. But the much greater contrast on the QD-OLED is making the brightness stand out more. If you were to measure nits, you would find the Neo QLED to be brighter.

@@FURognar I'm sure it's perceived brightness compared to the qn90b. But it's still impressive. I don't have one yet to test but I will soon. I'm waiting to see how the sony a95k stacks up.

Don't always believe what you see. As the S95B is wayyyyy over brightened in movie mode beyond reference but the qn90b was, so it would have been much closer.

It's the helmholtz kohlrausch effect where our eyes believe that a more colorful image looks brighter.

@@barryjones2366 Who cares? Nothing like that actually disrupts the image. This was movie mode yes it tracks outside EOTF. And to my eyes it doesn't bother me one bit.

Ysah its almost like Micro led is irrelevant at this point and Samsung was really trying to make it. But even they said micro led first hesr would only hit like 1k+ nits which this tv is doing easily. So it's almost like micro led is no longer the future. This is plenty bright tbh we don't need more.

@@reviewforthetube6485 Exactly. The future has come earlier than expected, making Micro-LED less relevant. I love Sony TV's, so I hope with their XR processor and a heat-sink, the A95K will be even better than the S95B.

@@gorillapancake listen I love sony! I own the a90j and now the s95b. But I don't believe the Sony tv will heat the Samsung out of the box for people who like color, impact and brightness. Sony will track the eotf better put of the box and to the eye it may not look as bright or as colorful. But I tell everyone sony gives you the settings to make it crazy colorful and brighter. So just something to think about. I do believe the processing edge will go to sony. But man I can't imagine it having more perceived contrast, color and brightness. I think alot of people will prefer the Samsung in comparisons at least in most comparisons. But the people who want accuracy and the processing they will want sony. Both will have there places in the market which is awesome! So in other words sony approach will he more refined and what the industry would call correct. Sometimes that doesn't look better to the eyes though! Also if we go by what Caleb got with readings whne he spent like 20 hours with the sony even though it was a pre production model he got just at 1k nits at 2, 5 ans 10 percent. The s95b is 1500 at 1 and 2 percent rveb up to 3 percent sometimes. And then 1k nits at 10percent so s95b reads brighter but the soby tvs have always had a habit of looking brighter then there readings show so it may be on par with Samsung in real content. I almost think sony pushed back there launch more due to how good the Samsung was haha. Like they erred ready to launch until Samsung releases there's. It tells me they may be fine tuning it who knows though!

Let's not get nuts. QD-OLED still only gets a couple hundred nits brightness full screen. Micro-LED, like good current LEDs, will get thousands of nits brightness with no risk of burn in and still have great blacks. Micro-LED is still the ultimate tech at this point. Mini-LED like the QN90B are still better than QD-OLED in many situations. But yeah, without a doubt, QD-OLED beats LG's WRGB OLED in *EVERY* way. They are going to have to reduce prices massively once Samsung ramps up production.

No you really didn’t get it right the Samsung cutie is filled with over saturation of colors in over saturation of brightness it is not even accurate according to the creators of movies intent. In video games the accuracy is even worse on the Samsung

@@alambe7275 you're clueless, so sad to see people lacking even a rudimentary understanding on the subject paroting what they thought they heard Vincent Teoh say. Vincent only pointed out that the S95B had a very slight elevation in EOTF, heck most Samsung QLED's have a much greater elevation in EOTF response. This slight inaccuracy in EOTF is not what makes the S95B so impressive. Actually the TV would be even more impressive if it tracked the EOTF.. The impressive thing is the QD-OLED panel itself, with it's vastly superior specifications, and true RGB sub-pixel layout. WRGB WOLED next to any RGB QD-OLED will always make the WRGB look like 10 year old mid-tier TV. this regardless of EOTF tracking and whatnot. When the Sony A95K QD-OLED both tracks the EOTF and still makes LG WOLED look like garbage, what will your excuse be? And I know for a fact that you people will persistently have an excuse explaining away reality. You just can't accept that you have been praising a vastly inferior WRGB panel for a decade. Your LG snobism won't allow a Samsung panel to be superior, you will go to great lengths to ignore reality and keep WRGB WOLED on a pedestal. The A90J also have a huge rise in EOTF, in the near-blacks, watch HDTVTEST A90J video. Let me remind you that the A90J won TV of the year 2021 in Vincent Teoh's shoot-out...

Are you blind? The S95B is significantly better than the LED TV in EVERY SINGLE SCENE. Burn in is a genuine concern, but strictly from PQ, there's no denying that this new TV is substantially better

If these look similar to you, you need to go to an eye doctor right away, it’s not even close, OMG dude you’re blind

This is the main problem I am having with Qled technology with Full Array. The aggressive local dimming crushes those small details as to where they can be displayed on this Oled and pretty much all of them. I own an Lg BX and it’s much better than my Samsung Q80T

This year Yes. They have depth enhancer which works similarly to how XR reality creation works. I still think Sony has the lead in processing. It will be interesting to see how A95K QD OLED will perform and will be looking forward to do a S95B vs A95K comparison

That would be great! In colors and contrast: S95B, QN85B, QN95B, QN900B are all superior than QN90B. There're reasons they let QN90B out first. The greater mostly come later with the exception of S95B, which really ain't an LCD.

@@AndreaETessy EU's QN90B is ADS/IPS really? I've never heard of that. I heard the only ADS/IPS panel in the EU is QN85B. QN90B & QN95B in the US are both VA panels.

I will try to look into that. Hard to capture highlights sometimes with my camera.

Yes but you can turn off dynamic contrast and it will be equal to filmmaker mode. You can see in the video it did not over brighten image on S95B and kept its contrast and colors.

I mean C1 and CX crushed shadow details like crazy. So that's what purist preferred and it always got a pass because it was for LG. For Samsung Vincent just went on Kill Mode and it was so unprofessional of him to even blame Samsung for doing it on purpose to fool people? Can you imagine he ever saying that to LG. Samsung has changed the S95Bs movie mode brightness this year from their other TVs. So not a fair comparison. Wait for HDTVTest comparison, much more professional.

In the city shots QN90b has the edge in shadow detail but the color volume of the s95b is great

Yes. It is more like how TV is utilizing the brightness and on the QD OLED it is just much better because of deeper blacks don't need any nits and it is available to punch above waist when needed.

Brightness is not the same. S95B is well over reference whereas the qn90b is reference brightness so not a good comparison as the brighter TV makes the other look more washed out on camera than it actually is in real life.

Finally samsung deserved what they are good at "Quantum Dots" combination with OLED infinite contrast and no need for local dimming. It is mind blowing

Both TVs were calibrated but using full 100% brightness for QN90B and S95B.

Qled and qd oled both are at maximum brightness. Qled would only crush in blooming as you can see. Also both TVs are bright no one said QN90b wasn't bright.

@@MyGadgetsWorld I saw another RU-vidr that did have a comparison between them, he lowered the brightness of qn90b to 35 while s95b to the maximum at 50, and they were at the same level of brightness that means qn90b have higher brightness.

I have used OLED since 2016 without much burn in protection and still have it with me without any burn in. It is rare but happens with maybe once in a blue moon

1098 firmware. Both TVs are calibrated and at max brightness levels.
