Yes For new model Samsung ( mine was Q60 model 2020) I think Samsung realized the issue with the remote. So , the new remote is simple: Just go to setting and reset . It automatically goes to factory reset. To confirm this . ... I was on regular Japanese wifi... didn’t work. Rest, then it did. Thank you. Good job
Thank you Sir for giving me the idea to use the Hotspot instead of my regular cable. Your idea worked like a charm and allowed to accept the Terms and Conditions.. Best, Milind.
Thank you so much for your video....i was getting really frusterated and wanted to return the tv and that it was misleading about the smart features....but thanks to you i am able to use its smart features...cheers to you!!!
Worked great. Had a minor hiccup trying to connect to the Samsung server once I got past the terms and conditions portion. To correct that issue, on the terms and conditions page I inputted on my remote "mute, up volume, up channel, mute" which allowed me to select a country for my ISP. After that, no issues at all. Thanks for the help.
From my understanding this solution works with a few Samsung models. However, getting to the terms and conditions portion was my biggest hurdle. I found the other solution here: eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/change-region-for-samsung-ue55ks7090/td-p/1342071
Hello my friend !!! You did it !! I was able to pass the T&C Took some time. When using the sharing , this can take some time. Also, the new remote , yes.. you can now do a complete factory reboot. Also for your viewers , A USB-lan cable adapter will work. Your great !! Thank you very much
Thanks. I was having issues with apps, and accessing RU-vid. I was repeated told, my cache was filled, and I had to delete it. I looked up a six different ways to clear my cache., but none worked, and from the comments, it didn't work for other people either. Someone said, "Do a factory reset. I found a smart hub reset, and did that. That almost bricked my tv, but I could access my wifi network, because didn't ask for a password I did you factory reset, and never hooked to VPN, because I live in the United States. Had a little trouble, but soldier through, and bang o, got back my unbricked tv. Haven't check if the cache problem is fixed, but much thanks, and I'm sending good vibs to you tonight. Ha, sorry dude, that crap, but thanks anywho.
@@WhiteRiceJP agreed! A sticker that points them to this video lol. It’s totally unexpected once you fire up the new tv. Then you just get stuck. Seems kind of cruddy on their end.
Thank you very much, the original skinny remote that came with my 65 inch curved tv was the culprit. When I used the old school remote like you said resolved my issues, thanks again.
Whoa, awesome. Had a few issues but it was little more than resetting the lan and other gremlins. Works fine, but I will have to redo it all again to sign into my VOD accounts for the first time
Yesterday I connected my Samsung just like you showed us and it worked perfectly, thank you very much ! 🥰🥰 But today , for whatever reason, it stopped working. Now it shows me that it's picking it up so my tv shows me the wifi network, but it has no internet . I cannot connect it to the VPN that I have set up anymore. I am a little frustrated, I just bought a one year subscription for Express VPN .💔
@@WhiteRiceJP thanks a lot for making this video unfortunately my TV is still being stubborn. When I try using the old remote I get to OPTION, but above it says MODE: FAILURE and when I factory reset it, it doesn't restart. Kindly help me out
Hi, my father just gave me a brand new samsung TU690T and I’m having the same problem. He bought it from Yokohama base so I’m assuming its a us mode tv. Do you have any other way of doing this? unfortunalely I dont have a pc/laptop. will an iphone do without any hotspot option?
Hi, how do you fix the issue of server down and under maintenance while agreeing to the terms and conditions. I have tried several procedures like reseting and changing the IP but nothing seems to work. kindly assist. Tnanks
Greeting White Rice. I really need your help with this. I've followed your videos carefully, but I can't figure out connecting my Hotspot to the Samsung TV, that hasn't quite worked for me. I love in Japan as well. Please I'll appreciate any help from you. I haven't been able to use the full features of my TV after I had to reset it some days ago
@@WhiteRiceJP I thought I had it. I actually have a MacBook and for some reason I can’t make the hotspot work. I’ve been trying all kinds of things trying to figure it out!
I’ve never tried from a MAC, but I did try from my iPhone through the windscribe app and that didn’t work either. What about borrowing a friend’s windows computer
Hello again. Ok. I got the adapter. Turned off wifi. Plugged the wire in... got online. That’s good. I followd your instructions. I made hotspot. Easy password. Ip was Atlanta Georgia. As for network connections. Ethernet 2 Unadentified network, shared Windscribe VPN. Next to it Local area connection 12 Enabiled wifi direct vertual. Ok. Samsung wireless connection success: If you have any problems use online service.. etc. I hit ok. Go to t&C hit set up Says: terms and conditions policy The server is under maintenance. Please try again later. (7-1) Sorry to keep bothering you !! I’m obviously close. I put the cable in the back of the wifi. 1/8 were being used. It said success. Any advice ?? Thank you again. It’s a great video too. !!!
I’ve never seen the message that the server is under maintenance, but maybe there is a problem right now with their server. Can you find my Facebook page and chat with me on there? It’s a little difficult to do this conversation in the video comments. The page on Facebook is called White Rice Sensei
Didn't work. For some reason the Ethernet 2 port wouldn't accept any of my cords. I could connect to the internet but it always showed as being unplugged. No matter what I tried whether disable and enable, update drivers, nothing worked.
@@WhiteRiceJP nope. Never got it working. Had to take the Apple TV out of the bedroom and into the living room so we could watch TV. Would like to see an alternate method. I tell ya I love living in Japan but the TOS thing is balls.
Hello yes. Got it. After you did the setup and have log into the Samsung acc. Do I have to keep using the VPN ? Can I go back to just Japan / regular wifi ? Thank sir !!
After everything is done and you prove that you can watch RU-vid or Netflix, then you can go back to using internet without VPN. But you may only see content available in Japan
Hi good afternoon I am from the Caribbean and I have had a Samsung TV for about a year now last night it was not working right so I reset it to the factory default now I am getting 2 error
I think I understand your question, let me try to answer. 1. You would hook the computer up to your modem or router with a LAN cable 2. You reset the TV 3. Connect your computer to a US VPN 4. Share the connection of the VPN with your WiFi adapter 5. Connect the TV to the laptop WiFi hotspot only Make sure after you factory reset the TV that you do not connect to the modem or router until the TV has accepted the terms and conditions
I don't understand. I don't have a laptop. My samsung smart tv was working fine but then my remote stopped working and then the tv . I can't access my apps as it won't accept my wifi. Also some areas are greyed over and I can't accept terms and conditions. Any advice
I bought a samsung smart led tv from china and bring back to Pakistan. There were chinese app installed and then I factory reset the smart hub and all applications removed from tv. Now I want to install the RU-vid on tv but smart hub connection test is failing and at 5th step it is showing error. Similarly when I start downloading terms and conditions then error is showing internet connection is not stable. I changed two internet sources but no result. Kindly guide me wt should I do. I use windscribe vpn on mobile and then make hotspot for tv
my pc hotspot doesn't connect to any device just showing obtaining ip address i see this message on my tv while download T&C(Tv id and version is not valid)
This video apply to my EU TV (UE55MU7002)? I switched to the US region from the secret menu and now I have no samsung hub apps, error 40001 on Terms and policy smart hub. Please help
Hello Nice video. I live in Japan. I bought a Samsung Q60 tv on us military base. Like you, I can’t access terms and conditions. I only have the new remote. I heard to do factory reset I was to hold down the menu button in side of tv to do f-reset. Please help me
Hello, thanks for watching! I’ve continued to research for ways to use the newer “smart remote” to do a factory reset but I still haven’t found a way. Have you tried calling Samsung to see if they can tell you how? The only other option I’m aware of is to order the older style of remote. I wish they made it easier, but until I learn a new method I’m kind of stuck. Sorry!
Hello thanks for the mail. Ok. How would this work ? My pc is only wifi. I buy lan adaptor. They sell on Amazon 1,500¥ So it would be 1 pc ... 1 wifi 1 lan adaptor for the same pc Could I do this ?? Thanks 白ごはん
If you found a good LAN adapter, try that first. Unfortunately I can’t promise that your wifi adapter on the computer will work You can also do it with 2 wifi adapters. The wifi adapter has to allow you to make a hot spot, and I have found that the brand Edimax works Please try the LAN adapter option first and let me know how it goes
It is possible to have your router work as the VPN. If you do it that way, it should send all the traffic from all your connected devices to America, as long as you set it up that way. If you use a router VPN just do the factory reset (step 0), then steps 5 and 6 You can do wired or wireless, it shouldn’t make a difference if your VPN is working correctly.
Hi just purchase a Samsung smart TV, I live in Trinidad West Indies, having problems accepting terms and conditions. I did what you said, however when I click on the factory reset button then okay, and okay again (factory reset), my tv screen comes off and it's not coming back on again as shown in your video. Awaiting further guidance and assistance from you.
I used to live in Thailand where electronics are cheap. Bought Samsung AU8100 TV and without opening it brought it to my Country Bhutan. Tried all the steps and process none is working even reset and continued with thai language too. Paid the Windscribe VPN subscription and made the IP address to Thailand and still not working. Not sure if i can ever unlock these features
Hello La, I am having same issue with my Samsung Smart TV which I bought from Thailand in 2018. I couldn't proceed further with acceptance of Terms and conditions , Privacy Policy. Therefore I am still not able to use the smart TV features. Were you able to solve your issues la? If so plz advice me.
@@pemachoden3857 Hi No I heard We have to unlock it from Thailand itself.. But I am using Netflix and all from PlayStation and also from Mi stick that i ordered from Thailand. Mi stick is a small usb type stick which You can connect to TV and use all the features separately. You can get it from Many Electronic shops and also from ispot in Hongkong market, Thimphu.
Hello Thank you. It seams I was able to do a factory reset ... with the new remote. It’s this years model. I hope... So, about connecting to the pc. I don’t have lan cable port in my pc.... can I just use wifi ?? Can I do this with only wifi ?? Cheers !!
You would need to have 2 wifi adapters. So if your computer only has one built in wifi adapter you would need to buy a USB wifi adapter to make the bridge between your tv and computer to the VPN
@@mogimgj2046 You could either utilize a USB wifi adapter (Edimax makes a cheap one) or another option is to use a tethered connection from a smart phone. By tethering, you’d have to plug your smart phone in and share the internet connection by USB.
@edwin For me, I have an iPhone. I connect the iPhone to the computer with the lightning cable and tether to the computer. Then I share out that internet connection through the computer’s wifi adapter via the proxy. Then connect to the TV to the computer’s shared hotspot from the TV’s wifi settings
The problem with factory reset through secret menu is that you lose your remaining warranty period if you enter to secret menu. In fact Samsung can later see every access to this menu and if it was not done by them you lose the warranty.
Hi sir, I have an older version of Samsung tv, I did factory reset but, it gets stuck on the setup. I did not connect to wifi like what you said what should I do?
Really the only way is to have your TV connect to a proxy of some kind. These days you can get a proxy service to work with your router, so if you can get the router connected to a proxy, you don’t need to go to through the wifi settings
I was using windows 10 pro, 1909 This fix has worked for every model I’ve tried for Samsung Smart TVs produced since 2018, I’ve done this for about 8 TVs of various models
@@WhiteRiceJP bro. Didn't have WLAN capability, bought a usb wifi adapter and went to work got both of new Samsung smart tv's working. Took little more leg work since i was using google wifi system. Had to run ether to modem directly to desktop, install usb and go from there. All worked out though. YOKOSUKA Japan!! Appreciate it!!
Nice, I don’t have experience with the Google wifi routers, but I’m glad to hear you got it to work. I wish the places where these Samsung TVs are sold would explain that the smart features require this amount of effort to set up.
Please help, None of my apps display, smart hub is not working so I can't change the region, unable to accept terms and conditions and the setup button shows but when I proceed it says there's an error.
I am currently facing same issue… but when I tried to follow this same method, I am now stuck in a totally different issue. My VPN connection is working only when I am connected to wi-fi. If I connect the Ethernet cable to laptop, the VPN is unable to connect. I am doubting the internet provider has some inbuilt firewall or something… Can anybody help me to resolve this issue..?? Seriously this is frustrating..😅😅😅
ive been having an issue with step 4. under ethernet 2, it says "network cable unplugged" and wont let me connect to the *local area connection* under the sharing tab. please help
For those living in the US, turn on your mobile hotspot and connect with TV following the same exact steps in the video (you can ignore the laptop wired connection & VPN part) 😊
Tried it. Got the TV to eventually take the hotspot connection but when it was doing the terms and conditions it would state that there was a region issue. QN90B. Anyways is there any instructions to do this on a MacBook?
Update : you do not need secret menu - just do reset on the menu built in - *then jump to US network (using vpn tether )* to tv - only then you can accept terms and condition sign in to your samsung account : voila 😉
If your Smart Hub is already activated, you may be able to connect the TV to a VPN that’s connected to an Italian server. That will use a lot of data though, so you’d want to get an unlimited use VPN, or at least one with more than 2GB per month
When you say Italian channels, do you mean actual Italian steaming TV? If so that may not be possible. My TV in Japan still gets American channels, even when I’m connected to a Japanese ISP. I think the only thing that changes based on where you connect is the content available in Netflix, RU-vid, and so on
I bought a Samsung smart TV while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. I tried following the steps in this video, and the steps for correcting my hotspot issue. I am unable to host networks. Is there a way I can have my TV connect via VPN internet so I can get past the terms and conditions? I have tried using the VPN on my cell phone and using that hotspot. I have tried using connectify and speedify to create a VPN hotspot with my laptop (as a third-party app), I have tried just about everything I can possibly think of with my limited knowledge and nothing is working.
What kind of computer are using and does it have the latest version of windows 10? I had some issues with one of my laptops, but after trying another computer it worked. If you can’t get your TV to think it’s back in the US, then it’s probably not possible. You can reach out to me at White Rice Sensei on Facebook, it may be easier to communicate and solve the issue that way
@@heather2301 I did not. I ended up getting a fire stick to use. I've thought of buying a VPN router just to get the TV setup and then return it. But the fire stick is working just fine for now.
Do you have the problem where you tv cannot download or accept the terms and conditions? There are a lot of cheap USB wireless adapters these days. Between $10-20 is all it would cost to add one, and then you can bridge your connection with the wired lan connection
@@WhiteRiceJP I ran into a problem with turning on the hotspot. When i click on share my internet connection with other devices it gives me the error ''We can't setup mobile hotspot'' do you have a fix for this?
Sorry about the delay, did you figure it out? If not, can you tell me more about your home network, like what is your computer plugged into, and did you use windscribe VPN?
Try going into the windscribe settings and using a different connection type. Also, did you try the “whatismyipaddress”? Did it change your location when you check from your browser?
Had the same problem but it is solved after I used Speedify (vpn) along with Conectify( WiFi hotspot) to share the vpn connection to my tv and it worked fine!
I’m having this same issue, says no internet to share to other devices, an X by the Ethernet (4) in my network connections, and says it’s unplugged. I’m going crazy!!!
I have a UN43TU8000FXZA and I tried to access the service menu using a Harmony 650 Smart remote configured for SAMSUNG, but I do not get the service menu to come up. Do I have to specifically use the SAMSUNG remote?
I’m not an expert on smart remotes, but the infrared signal needs to match, it could be that the Samsung remote sends a slightly different signal than your harmony remote. Know anyone else with a Samsung TV that would let you borrow their remote?
@@WhiteRiceJP i used a different remote and accessed the service menu. I did the factory reset and connected the TV to my iPhone hotspot running a VPN based in the US. Still getting the "Server Busy for Maintenance" error. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
Jason, I tried using the iPhone with a VPN directly and had the same result. Do you have a windows computer with a wifi adapter? Also, can you tether your iPhone and share its connection with the computer? Some people have been saying that they have a laptop without an Ethernet connection, so they tethered their iPhone to their windows connection, connected to windscribe, and then shared the VPN from their computer hotspot. It’s almost the same as the video, except your connection comes from the iPhone tether. Would this be possible for you?
