Samsung T7 SSD - Worth it?

I just got mine, its amazing, I get almost 1000 Megs a second read / write. Not to mention the small size, good build quality and the fact that it has the software already on the drive out of the box.

last week I bought this Samsung T5 1TB SSD for €99,- on the Black Friday sale. 3 years earlier I already had bought the blue T5 500GB. Those have almost 8000 hours on the counter. And work perfect 100% error free Smart test. Incredibly reliable.

Good video, but I would point out that another reason to choose the more expensive SSD over HDD is durability. It's not just about speed, and if someone is looking for a drive for data backup they might benefit from knowing that solid state means no moving parts to fail... To say the only reason to choose an SSD over an HDD is a bit misleading IMHO. Otherwise I thought your video was great, thanks for the info!

What’s cool about the t7 is that it uses NVME (veri fast haha) instead of the past models using SATA (not veri fast but gets job done)

ur content is great...already subscribed...even i got that same WD external 1Tb hard drive and that too of colour blue😂 tbh i actually searched for T7 ssd, wanted to knw a lil bit abt it before purchasing but ended up watching bunch of ur videos idk bc of ur accent or maybe ur quality videos i guess, i mean they just stand out , simple, genuine, clean and quick review and yeaa i guess starting a tech channel all by yourself is difficult because you can't just purchase and review everything...but after going through your channel i can say that you're far more than just an ordinary tech reviewer...and alsoo that go pro and Nintendo video really helped me. btw I'm confused b/w the two...like just like you I don't really need any security in my ssd...so which one should i go for t7 or t7 touch... i mean is there any diff in their build quality or data speeds or anything else in the t7 touch(except the touch id) that should make it worth considering? bc the price diff is like ₹4000(500gb variant)

I purchased this last week for my iMac 21.5 (2019). I was going to purchase the new iMac (M1) but now that I have the Samsung T7, I just saved myself at least $1500.00.

Mainly gonna use it for backing up my rom collection. 2TB should be enough.

Amazing Video!

Would love for you to test this drive on a USB 3.0 (type A port) interface, specifically when it comes to file copy speed. I regularly copy files from my iMac and MBA to external mobile drives and would be quite curious to see the speeds of this using this drive. A 1.5 GB MP4 documentary file would be an ideal test file.

Just ordered the 2TB version for my PS5, plan on using it as the home for all my non-PS5 games and possibly as cold storage for PS5 games. I’ve already installed an M.2 SSD in the expansion bay though so I doubt it will come to that 🙂

Can this product handle the my type of workflow PLUS utilizing it as the sole bootable disk drive all at the same time? I got the 2TB version of this SSD. I put 2.1K of videos on it. I am going to Magic Island. I will find a free picnic table, flip open my Lenovo laptop, connect my SSD via USB-C, turn on my Sony Blue-tooth speaker, and entertain myself for 3 hours.

I'm looking for a 2TB SSD for my iMac to run my active iMovie library. Would you suggest the Samsung T7 or the SanDisk Extreme Pro Gen1. Both have published transfer speeds of 1,000MB/S. I don't think I need the SanDisk Gen 2 which runs at 2,000MB/S. Thanks

Omg the speed dropped....? You were at 40 and 90MBPS. You then jumped to 800MBPS. I think a little slow down is just fine.

What is the allocation unit size of the samsung t7 1tb right out of the box? I accidently formated my ssd and now that I wanna return it back to what it was, I cant seem to find it on the internet. All I know is that it comes in exfat out of the box.

Bro I just got it... But i am having a problem.. the samsung software keeps on displaying ssd is disconnected even when the ssd is plugged !

Why would you not wanna set a password on it when you install it??? What if someone steals it? Or you lose it?? Is the encryption 256?

i just bought it for 80 samsung has it on sale :)

Let's just hope they don't have a connector soldered directly onto the hard drive like all of those failed Western Digital drives
