Absolutely fantastic video, thank you! Probably the best tablet review I've ever seen actually. For the tablet itself, they look great and is tempting, but I have a S6 lite that works just fine. S9 FE is obviously better, but in practical term, I'm not sure I'd actually get a better experience since the S6 lite already does everything I need.
ive been debating on whether to buy s9 fe or s6 lite and some people have said s6 lite was rather slow.. i want to use it for college for things like word, ppt, canva, notes... how is s6 lite for you if uve ever used it for these
@@jhdm8097 hi! i own a s6 lite, if u only use it for college and not anything else then id say go for it. im planning myself to upgrade it to s9 fe + because i use my tablet for everything basically and 64 gigs and the ram isnt enough for me. i use powerful programs hence why i upgrade, since it lags a lot on my tablet and crashes at some times. but ofcourse s9 fe+ is much powerful faster and has better specs in everything.
@@jhdm8097 I have the s6 lite 2023, tbh rn just get the s9FE, from a school perspective the tablet is pretty decent, but I have trouble multitasking with it. Not impossible but the 60hz refresh rate and only 4gb of ram makes things rather choppy. For canva especially, things can get rather unpleasant if multiple apps are opened. Im planning to upgrade to the S9FE next year. just my opinion on my current tablet
I love artist review tablet channel! Because they can draw unlike those Apple Shill who don't know how to draw and give fake review about drawing apps optimization on Android. I have seen a Vietnam Tab S9 Fe+ review video and It's so frustrating when I heard the guy said Android Drawing Apps is not well optimized.
By far the best comparison and review if s9fe series. Strange the video doesn't come top on the list. There are lot of average videos of guys speaking specs n being diplomatic on the top. Great video brother ❤
The battery life should be definitely highlighted here.... it is really crazy ..... like 20 hours .... I mean you draw/write on white screen and this does not impact at all the battery life, versus OLED screens where white colour = max battery consumption. I measured S8 + vs S9 FE+ ..... the battery life is double. I returned the S8+ solely for this reason.... yes I saw a very small difference in the screen quality, but still not worth it. Not many people speak about this huge difference on reviews though ...
I'm an uni student on a student budget. My tab S6 lite 2020 is actively starting to die on me after an average of 350 days a year of use for 3,5 years. Samsung just came out with the tab s6 lite 2024, but I've decided to spend ±180 euros more on the S9 FE+ 2 main reasons: • The new tab s6 lite comes with only 64GB internal storage as opposed to 128GB on my current and older model. Sure, you can put an SD in, but it is a big deal breaker for me. • I take all my notes on my tablet, and I'm an artist (music, animating, drawing), so I am yearnin' for a bigger screen. I had actually checked the s8 live like you recommended, but the price difference was too big, and I can't wait for the next big sale. The S9 line was on huge back- to-school sale right now. So that became my final choice. I think the 9 FE line is absolutely worth your money if your budget is too tight for the flagships, but you still want superb quality Thanks for the review!
You just made the review I was looking for, testing the drawing apps and genshin impact wich are the two things I want this tablet for 😂 I will probably get the S9 FE+ in Brazil costing a little less than $580 with the right to reclaim the new buds FE as well
Thank you so much for testing Infinite Painter on this tablet. I’m looking to buy the S9 FE to replace my old iPad and I’m partial to Infinite Painter among Android drawing apps. I’m so happy to see you have a positive review of it.😊
Thank you for this review. I just got the smaller version of S9 FE and was wondering what advantages the size of the bigger screen gives and if i should change my choice. I'll be starting my journey with digital drawing as a total beginner and your review gave me all the answers.
Here in India, I got the Xiaomi Pad6 WITH ITS PEN at just $354 (₹29,499) which was significantly more affordable than the S9FE which comes at around $450. I fully expected to miss Samsung Notes but Notewise has been a huge lifesaver since its the only third-party app that supports minimal-latency and button commands with the Xiaomi Pen and has all the features that SamsungNotes does. The performance, display and battery-life are pretty impressive too. 144Hz makes the writing experience an absolute charm!
@@wesperitiochannel2309They're a note taker judging from what they said. But yeah Xiaomi pen is heavily viable for note taking and simple sketches. Meanwhile the spen, apple pencil and maybe the huawei pen are great for drawing
How has it been by far, Im buying one just to take notes and ocansily draw, all I know is that reviewers besides couple who are probably sponsored by xiamoi say its vest value for the money
Good review. Just an FYI. Most of not all consumer LCD are TFT. There are 3 main types is TFT displays, TN (I don't think any mainstream brands use this technology anymore), IPS ( Samsung use IPS), and VA (LG and Sony). Most tablets will be using IPS if not going with oled.
As of april 24, 2024 when i checked the display type of the s9 fe+, it said IPS LCD. So i think that's better. I think samsung is selling a newer version of this tablet with a better display?
@@neeraj.exe.08 Maybe. By the way, I use Xiaomi Pad 5, but without a stylus, since it can no longer be bought, which I now regret. But the screen here is very colorful!
Yeah, the difference in regional prices is insane. In my region tab s8 and tab s9 start at the same price. I was hoping it would be cheaper but no. Maybe when the s10 version comes out lol.
Infinite Painter is a good app. It has a good variety of brushes, minimal UI for use on small displays, and is a one time purchase. There are some quirks that can be fixed with software updates.
Going with the older S8 is a solid plan, but my experience with Samsung in the past is they ignore updates for their older products. Is this still the case or have they become better at supporting older devices? Thank you for the review.
Thank you for this! I've been considering getting a new tab mostly for school + work but I also want to have a good experience for art and gaming so this video was very informative! I do wonder how long do these tabs keep their quality as is used overtime? I've also been considering long-term use of tabs for choosing and I'm not quite sure what tab to get while maintaining a budget around the price of an s9 Fe. Maybe some of y'all may offer your opinions as well? Thank you!
Teoh, Can you review the latest Lenovo P12 tablet released few months ago. Its a 12.7 inch one. Would be close contest between this and the S9 FE plus.
@@paragyadav1714 like i said for note taking you better choose xiaomi pad 6 since it's cheaper and for entertainment it's good too! Like gaming genshin impact for example. but, if you're an artist or architect or Designer then it's better to choose samsung tab s9 fe or s9 series because they have pen that uses wacom technology and their target are creative professionals. But if you are extra, have lots of money and want to have the best of the best for collection then take samsung galaxy tab s9 series, not the FE.. but it's kinda unnecessary tho if it's only for note taking.. if it's for entertainment only, there's lots other good tablets that are specifically designed for gaming. (Also you can just use a stylus on a normal tablet if you only use tablet for light notetaking)
Hi iam normal user, i have older tablet samsung s5e, iam very happy, but now i want to upgrade samsung s9 fe and no others tablets, so i can connected to others samsung devices. Samsung s9 fe+ looks very nice too
Hi! Thanks for the review. I want to learn digital art and thought of taking some courses and even i want to use the tab for atleast 5 years, so is s9 FE+ good choice?
I'm not sure which one to choose. I have heard that the S9 has a screen that is too small, while the Plus may be too big. I need something portable to use at college and to take notes
Hi. Thank you for this video. Can you please advise me whether S9+ is suitable for 4K video cutting via Lumafusion? Is the performance sufficient? Thank you.
@@teohontech7141 Thank you for the advice!! I was doubting for awhile if I should just get the Ipad Mini 6 despite it being $260 more than the Samsung in where I'm at.
And can you recommend tablet with best drawing performance, or there no better alternative in common tablets to graphic tablets? I mean graphic tablets best overall?
Drawing performance is the same with Tab S9 series tablets. Main difference with experience is the additional latency with certain apps on the Tab S9 FE tablets.
@@teohontech7141 nice, i'm still confuse on what to get the fe or straight s9+ i mainly trying to learn how draw (so far i use samsung note 4 for making infographic about environmental issues by using free icon-image free royalty but now i wanna learn how to make things from zero myself lol) 😅
@@teohontech7141 Could it be that the apps need an update? (that the apps' devs yet need to do) Or is it that something has got nerfed on the S9 series? Or that the resolution is higher in these and it's heavier to move and compute with a larger grid of pixels? If the memory and graphic processor is the same but for more pixels... As in my S7 FE Medibang does not seem to lag... Medibang is also really working in vectors... maybe it's some OS or etc internals related to that. Specially if it happens with vector (internally) based apps , but not so much with pure raster, pure "pixel" apps (like csp and surely krita). I don't know, just wondering why it happens.
If the pencil has a button maybe it has a battery as well. Can this button work without an electrical power? 15:30 I think it charges wirelessly when attached to the tab.
There's no battery with the S Pen from Tab S9 FE. However, S Pen for Tab S9 has battery, but that's for Bluetooth features. The pens do not need battery for drawing or for the button to work.
Hi, teoh! If i may ask for your opinion, ive been wondering which tablet i should get between samsung s9 fe and xiaomi pad 6, from an artist view, which one do you think is better? Thank u!
That depends on whether you need 5G. I feel 6GB vs 8GB RAM isn't going to affect performance significantly. As for which size to get, watch 12:32 I think it comes down to whether you need 5G
@@teohontech7141 how about FE+ 8GB RAM vs FE+ 5G 12GB RAM, is the RAM effect the perfomance significantly? because i think the FE+ 8GB RAM price is more worth it than 5G ver, still confuse
@@aldoranantaIf you use 5G, then 5G is worth it. If you find RAM too low, you can always close all apps very quickly to release all the RAM. And 8GB is a good amount so I won't worry too much about lack of RAM.
If you use clear screen protector, it will not wear down the tip that fast. If you use matte screen protector, use plastic instead of the rubberised nib
I'm a 3rd world artist, and s9 fe wifi (the cheapest version for this) falls within my acceptable budget for a tablet. The ecosystem, dex, compatibility with buds fe, this is all plus plus and I can't find anything similar anywhere else. For example if I were to buy a huawei matepad, where do I fix it if it's broken? really difficult to find their stores, meanwhile samsungs and oppos and realmes are plenty in my city.
@@teohontech7141 right? also one more thing I cannot find any xiaomi smart pens for xiaomi pad 6, sold out everywhere, this here already have its pen, thanks as always
Hi Teoh, thanks for the review. If I only want the s9 FE+ to work with Clip Studio Paint, is that enough? Is it able to move large files with many layers well? Thanks
@@teohontech7141 Hello, could you share if your many other pen brands suffered the same lag in Medibang and etc in S9 FE? (if you tested those already) (BTW, you made me want to buy certain other brand for my S7, kind of seems to do better than the standard).
Does the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Fe Plus processor run smoothly for drawing on canvas up to 7k px and many layers on CSP? Any suggestions for a good tablet with a similar price and large screen size? Thank You
I have limited budget, but Samsung Tab S9 FE Wifi Only looks better for illustrator. I watch another mipad 6 review, and Smart pen gen 2 palm rejection not as good as S Pen.
Hi Teoh on tech. What app would you recommend to me for drawing plans and perspectives? I'm an architect, I'd like to know what app i need to use. Thanks!
Pls reply 🙏🏻 i want the tab for note taking without any lag or major issue a smooth experience ☺️...pls recommend one Xiaomi pad 6 or S9 fe+ ... If you recommend Xiaomi pad6 then pls suggest a app similar to Samsung notes
Hello, I have a Tab S9 but I can't use it because of the PWM flickering. If I replace it with a Tab S9 Fe, will my problem be solved? How is the PWM flickering of the Tab S9 Fe?
Great video! I would like to sell my s6 Lite 2022 to buy the s9 fe plus, I wanted to know if writing with the pen is smoother with the s9 fe, or is it similar?
For drawing, they are on par. Drawing experience is slightly different due to the pen design, but one tablet is not better than the other. Apple advantage is it has graphic design apps that handle vector, text and layout. Samsung advantage is the included S Pen, microSD card slot, familiar file management
I bought s9 fe and i want to know if an case for tab s9 Will fit? Because i cant find exactly what i want for s9fe, i want an very strong and protective like gorillaglass case... i found that both models has same sizes
Question : Have you tried to edit photo using the photo editor itself? I want to know what's included since my S6 lite doesn't have object eraser option or any other like in the flagship version
Clip Studio Paint is the much better app because it has A LOT of features. But Infinite Painter is good too, and probably more worth the money since it's a one time purchase, and this is the app I recommend you get first.
