This is Freestyle Gen 1, and I don't think the Gen 2 is worthy to upgrade, considering you already have the Gen 1. If you don't have any, then I suggest buying any of the two, which it is cheaper as the viewing experience is the same.
Yes, in this video it is a white painted wall. The designs you see on the sides are some stickers I put on the wall to make it look nicer. To prove this, here is another video which I made recently, after I bought a 120 inch fixed frame screen. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mf5gn7ZCRq8.html

Hello. Yes, it will project well from 12 feet distance as well. In this video, I have it at 3.75 m or 12.3 feet from the screen, and there is no loss of focus, but the brightness is definitely lower. I wanted to show that even at a further distance, the image quality is acceptable, so it will be even better at a shorter distance. So, you should not worry about the focus, only the brightness might be an issue if your eyes can't accept it. For me, in a total dark room it is very ok like this.
@GameMode12 How does it perform in a mildly lit room, like during day time with the curtains closed or at night with a few lamps on? Of course the quality would not be the same, but how bad does it get, considering I want to just play it in the background of my living room. Not a tech snob.
@anmolxsharma Here is a video of how it looks in a room with artificial light. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RkkjXfi45Pc.html In reality, it is like 10% worse than it looks in this video because the camera enhances the images to look better when filmed. During the daytime, it is a lot worse. Basically, you can only watch something at a very small size like 40 inch because the larger the image, the less brightness it has
@anmolxsharmaI t will scale down but only like 50% so for that you will get like 65 inch which is good too. I mean with curtains down you will see good enough but with direct sunshine it won't be usable at all. If you don't have a preference for the Freestyle because of various reasons, you may consider looking at Epson CO-FH02 which is a lot more brighter and it has better image in light environments and is not costing too much different. Here is a video for it in the same conditions ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wWXW5wAEa_Y.html
