That is a transducer and what you're doing is you're pushing on a plunger and a Spring when you screw that down that is for a factory calibration and then it measures the weight so the more you push it down it thinks more weight it adds water the more you let it up but thinks less wait and takes away water
The machine is stupid frist and does not fill up to the corrct level. Adjust this screw is to get it back to the corrcet level. Is that hard to understand?
its not for weight. It works like this: Water enters the washing machine -> water enters the tube -> air pressure rises in the tube -> frequency signal changes in the sensor. The signal lowers when water rises. By screwing it in, there is more tension on a spring and the machine needs more pressure to rise to plunger to the right frequency and more water is added. If you screw it out, it needs less pressure, so the washing machine will use less water.
This is modifying a manufacturer’s design, This is very stupid and dangerous! When you change something like this, you have NO IDEA what else will be affected. Take a hint! if you have to remove exterior panels to access something, then the manufacturer doesn’t want you to access it! If you don’t like the machine as it was designed, then buy a different one. One of the benefits of front loader machines is that they use less water and clean better. Stop watching your washer! Go sit down and check if the clothes are clean when the cycle is done. That, after all is the whole reason for washing clothes, right? To get them clean? The machine shown with lots of suds is NOT BETTER. It will actually make poor washing results. On front loading washers, you must use HE (high efficiency) detergent. It does not make suds like that. Suds will cause a leak that is not truly a leak. The door seal can’t hold back suds. And no, this will not make it fill any faster or with any more pressure. (pressure and flow rate are different things).
