Depends on the user. My Flip 4 is about to celebrate its first birthday and it has no problems yet. The protective film of the main screen is just starting to come loose - I think I'll have to replace it in about 5 months. From time to time you have to clean the hinge so that the phone can open completely. There a lot of pocket dust is caught, but you can easily remove it with a strip of paper. My recommendation: wait for the generation with IP-certified dust protection.
@@AboutBlank. I’ll tell you my experience. Flip 3. Couple of months down the line the protector started to fail. In the top right it had a tiny tiny little pin prick. I sent it away and they replaced the screen protector(pin hole still there, that’s important later). A month down the line it failed a second time and it had damaged the screen underneath in the crease. They said yeh we’ll fix it. Got a email to say they wouldn’t fix because of the pin prick, you know the same one that was present the first time. I asked them how on earth could that affect the crease. Terms and conditions, phone misuse. When that screen protector fails it actually damages the crease. Every single Samsung device has failed in one way or another. Dog shit.
Doesn't seem too hard to do. I'm in training here in Austin TX and so far it's enjoyable taking apart phones. I know for sure the lead tech won't let me anywhere near these phones right now so all I can do is watch. Maybe another week of training and I can attempt it. I think I can do it without any issues.
I have replaced this screen twice since Samsung wouldn't warranty the phone because of a scuff on the top plastic bezel 😢 and the 1st replacement the screen protector lifted after 3 weeks and now the 2nd is lifted after about 4 weeks.?😢
Im having an issue here everything is in place the phone boots and the big screen works but whrn it boots into software the phone goes blank. What can this be
non flip phones you replace the screen, but flip phones you need to transplant all the components to a new chassis with the new screen. wow Interesting, but makes sense. i fixed/replaced iPhone and android screens before but i guess I'm sending this flip phone for service, looks a bit scary to me, would try it myself if the phone was much older or out of warranty.
This video is an absolute life saver ❤️ There's nowhere to get my phone repaired in rural Japan, but this video made me feel confident enough to fit myself! Thank you for the great walk through!!
Love the vid! One question, i've always been using screwdrivers with detachable bits in my repairs, the benefit of that is that these bits are magnetized too so they hold the screw better and it is not as finnecky.. i always see repair people use screwdrivers that don't have swapable bits.. why is that?
I have given my z flip 5 for main screen replacement at Samsung authorized Centre. It’s under warranty. How can i check if my replaced screen is original? Hope Samsung doesn’t do scam with me.
sir, i put my phone in the freezer, and i opened it. it cracked my screen and made a noise is there anyway to revive it? i did it to try and help it from overheating 😢
Can't give you a direct supplier since I don't know where you're from. But when you're searching for a screen replacement (or a battery and etc. ), make sure it's says "Samsung service pack" or something along those lines. From there, check whether the seller has positive reviews or not.
This is awesome but a bit disheartening in my case. The pastic frame near the bezel where the phone folds has broken on me. Looks like it's not covered under warranty, and in order to fix it, I'll need to get the entire front screen replaced. I've got a temporary fix for it with a small sliver of electrical tape holding it in place at the moment. Super cool video, and you earned a sub!
