Champlain was a French explorer but he certainly did not "... map much of what is today Canada." He did explore and map large tracks of the Saint Lawrence River, Upper Great Lakes, and parts of Maritime Canada. What was only indirectly mentioned but not named was Champlain's involvement with the establishment of the first permanent European settlement in what is now Canada at Port Royal (Acadia/Nova Scotia) in 1605. Champlain was the cartographer for Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons expedition.
I have to do 10 explorers for a project to do for Social Studies and the Social Studies teachers are making harsh! Like EXTREM neatness no spelling errors 10 explorer routes and have to do them color then explain details about their routes in less than 7 days (a week!)
