I actually bought a cheap used ps2 last year, so I could play this again. I have the newer games on ps4 too, but I honestly just dont like them. Its too bad they went more in the anime direction. In the early games, grunts can still be a threat, but theyre nothing in the later games. And the addition of hyper attack combos was just awful. In sw4 its all just hyper and musuo spam.
I downloaded PS2 emulator in my laptop. At the moment I'm still playing several PS2 games including samurai warriors on laptop. Nostalgia as fuck. Life's so wonderful.
@@AHB91 what you mean emulators?i wish to take back this game...brings back good memory.but honestly all i have is ps4 and pc xd.and i can say i dont like at all this new samurai warriors 4 or dinasty...i prefer samurai warriors and samurai warriors extreme.
@@Nobuunaga Emulators are basically softwares that allow you to play certain console games on your PC. Personally, I use ePSXe for ps1 games, and PCSx2 for PS2 games.
"Hey, I got one!" Man, this battle especially will always be one of my favourites. The music, the lake-filled map, Azai vs Oda, everything was amazing and brings nostalgia. A true classic!
visited osaka castle the other day in japan, long story short, oichi was with nagamasa, then left him when he commited suicide, later married katsuie shibata, then at shizugatake when katsuie lost, they all commited suicide. the castle was an awesome musuem
I listened to the other arrangements of Anegawa and this just shits all over the other arrangements, it is NO contest. You really feel that emotional intensity and sadness when you hit this stage for the first time. Just imagine what Oichi went through when she was forced to leave her husband's side. This arrangement just nails it, and actually makes you feel for her so badly.
Exactly!! That's why this will always be my favourite version of this OST. All of the other versions are so fast, hyped up with all that extra jazz/remix feel. I just want a sentimental OST that opens up emotion, which what should be portrayed because this story is one of the saddest.
@@SajedGit sucks because I feel as though later titles, especially samurai warriors 2,actually did a better job with the story and writing but the music did lose its emotion
Dang... if you think about this song and Nagamasa's and Oichi's actual tragedy, it's very romantic and touching. Nearly brought tears to my eyes when I thought about it PLUS my first ever memories playing this game and stage. Still a favorite song, always will be.
Ina's chapter was good and Tadakatsu is a great father to her. I really loved it but it was sad within the chapter when asks her if she finally found her reason of fighting.
I guess the Azai believed that this situation would be in more of an advantage to them, seeing how they held the rear of the Oda. That, and their long time alliance with the Asakura. Nagamasa's defection also did catch the Oda off guard, but with Ieyasu and Hideyoshi, Nobunaga was able to initiate an immediate and skillful retreat.
This is Samurai Warriors 1's best Music! :D (Shamelessly biased opinion.) & I also love this music because it plays on Oichi's most pivotal stage in the game, & Oichi is one of my favorite characters to play! :p Gotta love beating the crud outta whole battlefields with a pink-clad little girl with a toy hammer that doesn't look like she belongs on the battlefield! She's so fun! :)
when we listen to this song, we can easily imagine Oichi's feeling in all this. Kinda painful and confused. I wouldn't be in her place, that's for sure.....
@@WatcherMovie008 he says it to oichis troops when the azai army appears ! i also like how the game is using some real events and characters names that existed irl .
*Sigh* I thought Love was supposed to be STRONGER than Honor... Too bad Nagamasa was "forced" to uphold his alliance with the Asakura...He should've had a dream about the future like he did in his SW2 Story Mode and corrected his mistake at Kanegasaki...
The issue was that the Asakura did a lot for the Azai family, therefore the Azai had no choice but to return the kindness and favor to the Asakura. It quite ironic sadly, especially when the Azai are left surrounded and the Asakura leave them to Nobunaga's wrath out of fear that Nobunaga would invade their lands while defending the Azai,
@@WatcherMovie008 I've learned quite a bit more about the history of this period after the last 10 years, so I now know that Hisamasa (Nagamasa's father) was mostly responsible for the decision to aid the Asakura.
Nagamasa Azai and Nobunaga Oda... why couldn't they had joined forces, because of Oichi? Did they hate each other that badly? Because of this, many years after the battle of Odani Castle, the poor Oichi, after losing Nagamasa, her husband and Nobunaga, her brother, she married Katsuie Shibata and both fallen at Shizugatake. Could this tragedy have been avoided? Battle is fearsome indeed.
This song's much too sweet.... but the meaning behind it is much too painful. Oichi feeling too many things, Nagamasa's dead about to happen... yep, Oichi must not be feeling well at that time. I'm glad you can change all of that in the game. :)
in SW1 i LOVES hanzo, i maxed out his hp and mp + with his legendary weapon and immediate death 5 books elements, he pwns ass man, fast, deadly and cool
Does anyone know why Koei never used this theme for Anegawa in SW2 and instead used more 'generic' themes? This is one of my favourite themes of the series and I've never figured out why Koei didn't at least do a version of this for SW2. They missed a trick there.
I’m 10 years too late but they did make a remix for SW2. It’s just that it was only in the XL expansion and they put it in some create-a-char mode and didn’t bother to change the actual story mode battle themes
@@BlackShadow993replying to an reply after 10 years bro. That’s amazing! Plus I also love samurai warriors very dearly to my heart, it helped me get though slot in my growing up and it made me love Japan architecture and it’s ancient history! Right on! ❤
I sympathise with Nagamasa more. Stay loyal to your old ally, or forsake them in favor of the new one. It was a gutsy and honorable choice to stick with the Asakura. An Oda-Tokugawa-Azai alliance would have rolled over the Asakura with ease, but he chose the hard road.
Samurai Warriors 1 is KOEI's best muso game by a long mile... nothing that came after or before beats SW1. One hit wonder for Omega Force. Maybe KOEI strategy division worked on this one too that's why it's fun ?
what I'm wondering is if Nagamasa really did love oichi that way. They never really mention their relationship in history, at least I don't hear much about it.
It's hard to tell without historical facts. In my opinion Nagamasa handing oichi over to the Oda clan can be seen as something done out of hopelessness or necessity fits better. Biggest point here is that its nobunagas sister and she had kids so he knew or hoped the oda wouldn't force her to commit seppuku or wouldn't even consider it because as far as I know it was before he was getting very antagonistic with his actions. She could've stayed in the castle and could've died there with him too. Both ways could've been interpreted as an act of love towards one another. I know it's been very harsh for her even after being married again but there's also the fact that she did exactly that when being married to katsuie so yeah. Not an easy thing to ponder about.
@anthonyver1 oh hell no, he also made it so rank was based on skill not social class, nobunaga's achievments are amazing and the few deeds he did that slandered his name are not even that bad compared to other peoples deeds.
You're right about that Sima Yi a Wei Officer betrays the Wei Army to join Orochi, Dong Zhou who's a tyrannt join Orochi (I'm not really suprised), Kotaro Fuma (I'm not really surprised because he doesn't allied with anyone) Masamune Date who wants control for himself, Lu Bu a mighty warrior joined Orochi, Diao Chan who goes where ever Lu Bu goes, and Keji Maeda okay to be honest I don't why he joined.
Yes, but I read she was at least going to marry Shibata if not actually married to him before Nobunaga sent her to marry Nagamasa. The marriage to Azai was purely political, at least in the beginning.
Samurai Warriors 1 for the music and stage but she was a bit too goofy in the first game while the second she had a dumb weapon still but more mature and didn't act wierd.
she gained love but lost nagamasa in the process!! poor oichi!! see you in SW3! oh ps, are the yu-gi-oh cards in the background real or fake?? id LOVE to have them for my collection!!
I don't remember really, I have played SW2 recently but I haven't done that side of Anegawa for a long time now. I still don't think it did though, the battle just uses the 'Defence' theme doesn't it?
They went to war with each other beacuse nobunaga declared war on the Asakura family and Nagamasa had been allies with them for many years and he couldent turn his back on them so he sent oichi back to her brother beacuse he new he wouldent win and dident want her to get hurt
george georgeson He was so pissed off at Nagamasa that when he discovered he was going to face the Asakura and that the Tokugawa were going to face the Azai. He Rearranged the entire battle formation so he could face the Azai.
