Way to go Michael, you stuck with her, protected her, and started a page to protect others. This ladies and gentleman is what a real man or woman does instead of saying "I don't want to get involved."

I’d really prefer the latter option, because I think the first option is basically as bad as what you did today.

Sweetie no the reason cops hated going to domestic violence calls is when the cops get ready to arrest the husband the wife and kids would attack the cops alot of times the cops would get a steak knife 🔪 in the back or a frying pan across the head because the wife was just as violent as the husband alot my family worked in law enforcement and would tell me old war stories how they got attack by the wife and teen son at the domestic violence call
Same, I can't stand when women do that...YES I know "Victim mentality" but as someone who had a guy HUG me super tight and purposely pop my bones and make me gasp for air and laugh while doing it and after, I punched him and NEVER hung out or even made contact with him again. YOU have the power to leave or cut them out of your life once the physically abuse starts SO DO IT and don't make excuses. Women need to be taught to be brave like this woman. She jumped out of the car and I also hope she doesn't bail him out and get back with him only to stay in a abusive relationship.
@@Ayveh honey some women stay or go back because they are afraid of retaliation some women are also killed when they attempt to run or do get away honestly I think that really depends on the man that you're with because you have some men that will put their hands on you but they wouldn't try to actually kill you then you have those screwed up f***** up in the head ones who will threaten to bodily harm to you and actually make good on that threat it's a lot of women that have lost their lives due to that type of man. So before you just jump and judge a woman that might go back to an abusive ex or husband get to know and understand them and the hurt and trauma that they're going through.
@Caz Katt I’m glad you’re here with us, healthy happy and safe. If I didn’t leave my abuser, I would have ended up dead and probably my entire family. We are strong for leaving and stronger for staying gone, that isn’t always easy. I was scared of everyone at first when I left for a couple of years. I met my life partner 2 years ago and I thought I had felt love before.... no I hadn’t and now I also know what’s it’s like to be appropriately loved. Best of luck to you and your son!!

Yeah, mine started punching me in the car, too. He figured I was trapped. Thank goodness their was traffic so I could jump out at a light. I'm happy this woman escaped, I wonder how many men pick the car to use for beatings?
As someone who’s been through domestic violence and thought of jumping out during one of our fights before, thank you so much, it only takes one person to be kind and help us, the people who helped me get out of that relationship made a huge impact on me and I may not remember their names but I’ll remember their faces forever
You are so right .....The abuser had stopped his car, I'm sure he was thinking about coming after her, but when Michael started blowing his horn he scared the creep away. So good to see someone who really cares about others, it gives you the sense that maybe this world is not so bad after all.
The sad thing is that most times,the abuser says he's so sorry and won't happen again,then it does time after time until we can find someone to take us in away from him! Hopefully she doesn't have any kids,especially with him!
Don't feel sorry for her...she will go back to her abuser/husband. Remember, she chose him and likes that abuse, otherwise she would have left. My sister is like that, married a loser and comes back crying every month from his abuse but when try to rescue her, she refuses...like WTF?
@@melaniexoxo it shouldnt be up to the victim to press charges , especially in domestic violence cases . It puts the victim in even more danger of being threatened , harassed , assaulted again , killed etc . When a crime is committed it is (should be) the police who lay charges not the victim . They changed the law in Canada yrs ago so it wasnt left up to the victim anymore .

The Alleged attacker was beating his Alleged wife as she allegedly hung outside the allegedly open Alleged car door for several alleged miles until she allegedly jumped out.
Thank, God - for Michael Shackelford... I truly believe people are chosen to be around at a specific time and place. It could've been anyone, but it was Michael, who took action... not everyone would be as helpful in my opinion.

Wow.. what a brave man. Thank you... For helping her.. I was slammed up against a wall and then thrown over a 2nd story balcony in the late 80s. I have hardware in my spine and have physical complications that limits me. I have ptsd. But I'm alive. I hope she gets help she needs and never goes back to him. Even today I am leary and fearful of people and relationships. But I'm learning to ignore the old messages and to be kind to myself
I needed to see this today. When I was still being abused, I ran out screaming for help. Many just looked at me & drove past, simply not caring. I have so little faith in people now & go to extreme lengths to protect myself. I'm glad that someone else was able to receive the help that I was denied, because quite often there is no way for us to seek help on our own and seeking help can actually make things worse. I was beaten after the police left.. Until you've been in this situation you dont know how hard or scary it is to actually leave, and it's often safer to remain with them as a victim is more likely to be harmed or killed after they leave their abuser. Please rather than ask "well why dont you just leave" instead just take a moment to care about others around you whether you know them or not, you just may be the one needing help someday and it can be hard to spot the signs of an abusive relationship as abusers make it an active goal to isolate & trap you. Stay safe everyone. 💋❣
Heroic acts like this are incredible. I'm glad he had a chance to post about it too! I hope it can inspire others to remain watchful and be proactive when situations like this occurs.
The world does need more people like this! Thats why people care about eachother. Everyone is different and you might not want to be one of those people that would do something like this, But everyone is different, and the world does need more people like this.

My husband kidnapped me...I tried getting out of the car like her and people just watched, NOBODY helped...it was horrible. This is the first time I tell this story, I never reported it or what he did. But I did leave it took a lot of work and sacrifice but my life was on the line. I’m convinced I’d be dead.

When I was around 17 years old, i was driving for one of the first time in my life, was driving a 1989 GMC Safari with a trailer and a Pontiac Acadian SS Drag Car on it, my father started punching me repeatedly on the right chin until I was stopped, i hate this crazy asshole. He made my life miserable from my first memory till I was out of there.
@S S Been out of there for a long time, it was mostly all verbal abuse, my mother is still receiving those verbal abuse and i guess she will till she die, i feel so selfish, if i was not selfish i would of kill my father so my mother could leave in peace.
What's an epo? Like an order of protection? Never does any good when the cops are slow to show up. I mean file it all ya want but go get you a gun cause guys like that don't stop till either they kill you, or someone takes them out.

I can't deal with a guy putting actual hands on me & punching me like I'm man & not something he cares about. Its like some good people experience the bad before the good. Then you have people like me, good & wholesome, but to broken pieces to open myself that way again & rather lie & even say I have a boyfriend.....then to let someone deal with damaged goods. As a survivor of domestic violence, including episodes in a moving vehicle, I'm so grateful for this man and his willingness to interrupt his commute to work and put himself at risk to rescue her. If he wasn't there, her abuser might have tried to recapture her, and the consequences could have been catastrophic. Thank you. Hopefully your example will inspire others to act instead of "minding their own business".
