The exciting, engaging, and captivating Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers have been a mainstay of the New York City Traditional Jazz community since arriving on the scene in 2012. In just a short time they have built a reputation as being one of the city's finest traditional and swing bands, holding residencies at The Standard Hotel, Chez Jef, and the Flatiron room among others.

Wait a minute, wait a cotton pickin' minute. That there is a Texas song if I ever heard one, and I read New York...and Jahzz in the description? That might be some Yankee blasphemy, since this ain't no jazz tune...it's Bob Wills Western Swing. And that's in a drum shop? What are those other instruments doing in there then? Now that I got that off my chest, I really liked it. Even if it's some damn Yankees.

Why Texas Never owned it, nor gave it birth. New Orleans Dixieland Jazz, Zydeco, Polka. Growing up in the south, California, Oklahoma, Louisiana. Bob Wills never called it western nor Texas swing. Till Spade Cooley "with his western swing boys" won a national contest beating all horns led swing bands and the competing string swings. The term wasn't cemented till mid to late 1944. So quit trying to be onnery, tight-fisted, cold hearted and stingy!! It belongs to the world.
