I spend an afternoon exploring San Antonio's quintessential points of interest: The Alamo, the Buckhorn Saloon, and the Riverwalk. Then I begin the long journey home to South Florida, traversing five states in two days. I also cook pancakes (twice) on the road.

We visited the Alamo on Sunday June 11th, and the map tour and audio tour no longer end in the gift shop. The gift shop is simply mentioned to reference where stops are on the audio tour ("to the left of the gift shop", etc.). We went in the gift shop and I bought 8 flattened pennies from a machine ($5.00), and nothing else bc the line to check out was too long. Lots of visitors at about 11 am - noon on a Sunday.

Hey Robert!! Great video once again! I don’t know how you do it! A cool suggestion: After each of your BIG trips, let’s say more than a 6 hour drive, can you maybe give us the stats of your drive? Example, gas mileage, cost of gas, and overall condition(how the vehicle is holding up and how you feel after a long trip) of your long ride in your vehicle? I know it’s just more work added on top but I’ve always been curious of these kind of stars a frequent traveler!

Hi Robert! Joe here. I have watched many of your videos and will continue watching them, of course! Would you mind if I ask you the size and weight of your camper trailer? I presume I need a 6 cylinder vehicle to pull your size trailer, is that correct? I presently live in South Florida and looking ahead to traveling around the country like you do, from time to time, and then returning with my partner to our small apartment in Sunrise, Fl. I have compared prices with used class B RVs versus towing a camper trailer and we like saving money, ha, ha! Any and all info you can share with us will definitely be appreciated, Robert. My trailer is 19 feet long and weights 3000 dry. You need at least 6 cylinders. Eventually I want to change to a class B, probably B+ just because I don't like having to hitch and unhitch, also for easier access to parking while of the road.

Good morning Robert! Thank you so much for answering my questions. I really appreciate all your videos. That is my dilemma...spend more money for a class B or class B+ (a used one) and enjoy the convenience or hit the road sooner with the right car and camper trailer. My partner likes the class B+ a lot but we are not allowed to park it where we presently live (Sunrise Lakes). Also, she is going to work one more year so we still have time to plan and decide. Yesterday, we both saw your video on The Alamo. When I was in basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in 1964 I visited The Alamo. The surrounding area has sure changed since then, especially the 'riverwalk'. I hope you have a great day Robert!

Nice Video! I'm thinking you enjoyed getting back home after that long haul eastbound. By the way, are you using propane for heat on those chilly nights? If so, you might try a small electric space heater for Minitini. You are already paying for electricity at most campgrounds. A question I have is what apps do you like to use on the road for navigation, weather, etc?

It still breaks my heart knowing the catastrophe that Gulfport/Biloxi went through with Hurricane Katrina. Over half of the plantation homes that once lined Hwy 90 (Beach Avenue) are now gone. Not to mention half of the casinos on the Gulfport side and other businesses as well. I can remember parking my 18-wheeler on the seawall over night many times right next to the Grand Casino! As for Florida the longest, and, most boring part, imo, is from the Alabama/Florida line to I-75 South. The rest of the state I enjoyed very much every time I hauled a load there. "they're not very welcoming" Well welcome to Texas! At least that was my experience in Canyon Texas the two times I went there... When we were in the Florida Panhandle I was thinking about driving up to Gulf Port. That beach looks real nice, but I am not sure I would like to sleep there... Might get a very big surprise late at night as someone in a car or truck isn't paying attention... Thanks for the video! I can't wait for your next trip!

Hello Robert, glad you enjoyed the stay at my home away from home San Antonio, TX. As you mentioned you would like to spend more time on a return visit. I hope you have a meet and greet, maybe downtown for a beer or two. I did a trip to Key West in February and stayed at the same Mississippi Welcome Center, it was a nice stop except the semi truck parking was filled so they came to the RV area, idling their trucks etc. :-( There is also a free dump station which is handy! I also stopped at the same Florida Welcome Center outside of Pensacola with the Blue Angel static display. Thanks for sharing your adventures!

San Antonio is also sprawling almost 2.7 million people and with (S.A/Austin I-35 Corridor)Adjacent metro Austin-San Marcos the region swells to about 5 million people and is one of the fastest growing urban areas in the country.

How much time do you plan to take on all your trips to enjoy the journey. I've watched your videos, I enjoyed your trips and scenery every time. My husband and I are thinking about buying a RV and traveling . We are in our early 60's will be towing the RV. Does size matter, set aside the price of course. Don't want anything complicated at our age. I like your style park and take uber, if necessary simple. #1 question is planning a trip. Thanks for the trip.

Good Video Robert, stop putting so much Olive Oil in your Pan, you just need to coat the non stick pan and your Pancakes will come out Fluffy!! I never used Olive Oil for Pancakes, I use Butter and a little Veg oil, or bakers spray,or Veg. spray oil. Stop eating so much!,and get back on the Road.LOL

Come on Robert! Weather in February in Florida is nice, but not in all states! You must know that! Coming to the ocean in February what do you think you would find there??? People in bikinis and shots taking sun on the beach???? Mind the weather in the rest of the country before you travel! Come to Massachusetts in July or August and you will make wonderful videos! Come to Massachusetts in January or February and you will make depressing videos! What do you prefer???? People do not want to watch depressing videos with bad weather!

Do come back when you have more tine.. san Antonio has a lot to offer I live in Houston which is a fine city. Do a bit of research if you visit The weather was bit good for touring. But our summers get plenty hot Perhaps some Spring or Fall?

My last visit to San Antonio was during St Patrick’s Day week (20 years ago this week). I thought it was so cool that they dyed the River green. I had a rental car and visited all the missions on the mission trail there. Very beautiful buildings and artifacts.

Nothing good in this city. The neighborhoods are violent and dangerous. Very few parts have decent communities. It’s such a large area most only think about downtown. don’t find yourself in the wrong side of town at night.

Sorry that you seem disappointed in San Antonio. The Alamo is not huge as you might have hoped but it is authentic as it stands. San Antonio is a wonderful place and 300 years old this year! San Antonio welcomes you to return and enjoy your time here.
