EXCELLENT spot for authentic Mexican food and ambience. We both agreed if there is a MUST see attraction in this video it is Mi Tierra. The food is delicious, the music is great, the service is outstanding, and the treats at the bakery are some of the best Mexican pastries we have ever had. Don't skip it!!

Approximately 10 mile trail that links 5 different historical Missions together. Our favorite was San Jose. San Jose was huge and very well preserved with many areas you can go inside. There were also exhibits to look at and read. We started at Mission Espada and finished at Mission Concepcion (driving to each location) and the whole thing took us 2-3 hours.
Chris Madrids Burgers | 1900 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78212
Open 6 days a week from 11a-9p, Closd on Sunday
Chris Madrid's is a burger joint staple in San Antonio known for their jumbo burgers and hand cut fries. If you're a sucker for a good burger this is the place for you. Wash it down with some Big Red the Texas way for bonus points.
The Pearl | 303 Pearl Pkwy, San Antonio, TX 78215
Hours of Operation vary by business.
The Pearl is a Historic brewery that has recently been turned into a beautiful area for shopping, dining, drinking and relaxing. It has a community vibe with people all about lounging around and enjoying the day.
This is a good spot for a day drink.
The Modernist | 516 E. Grayson St., San Antonio, TX 78215
Open 5 days a week from 5p-1230, 2a on Friday and Saturday, Closed on Sunday.
This is a super neat house turned bespoke bar. This is a cool spot for a date or trying something new and adventurous as you let the bartender decide what you drink, based on your likes and dislikes. It can be a little pricey, but the experience is worth it. Go early to grab a seat at the bar because they fill up quickly.

Thanks a lot! That was very kind of you to say. We appreciate the feedback 🙂. We live only an hour away from San Antonio so we did have the privilege of breaking up the filming a bit but not too much. I want to say there were a few places that we wanted to film and did not expect to be closed when we first went down, so we decided to grab tickets to the rodeo on an upcoming weekend and when we went down for that we snuck in a few more things we had originally intended on filming the first time we were in town. So I’d say definitely a minimum of 3 days, but probably closer to 4 depending on how long you spend at each place. I tend to be pretty good at jam packing a day full of stuff just right based on location and where we want to be at that time. And of course being from SA and knowing my way around didn’t hurt. And yesss. We have definitely traveled down to SA just for a tasty cheesy Chris Madrids burger at least once or twice. Thanks again for watching!

@@CastawayEscapes Wow only an hour away from such a beautiful place, I am jealous. I bet the rodeo show was action packed. So glad to see you enjoying the moment prior to the rodeo. I went to SA on May 16th for the RHCP concert at the Alamo Dome. It was bananas! fully enjoyed the city and outer city fun, the pearl, Chinese tea garden. Missions etc. We had 4 days to play around and was unable to do as much as you did, but not bad coming from Florida and first time in SA. Everyone was honking downtown at 9pm or so due to the spurs getting the 1st overall pick, and as I am driving the rental to see where the Alamo dome is I was wondering what everyone was honking at lol. Then seen it on the news upon returning to the hotel that fans were honking for the spurs. I missed out on Chris Madrids, but will hit it next time to get the extra cheese ;- ) I will stay on the lookout for your vids. You are the bomb

San Antonio at one time had 6 Army and Air Force bases. Ft. Sam, Camp Bullis, Randolph, Kelly, Brooks and Lackland where all AF Basic trainees come thru. Quite a few GIs at the time married Korean women and brought them home after the Korean War. Another nickname is Military City USA.

So ...how was the food I was expecting ur reaction w the chilaquiles 😒
@CastawayEscapes
@CastawayEscapes 8 месяцев назад
Sorry, we’re still working on our impromptu food reviews. It’s still awkward to film in public sometimes, especially at restaurants but we’re working on it. She said the chilaquiles were good but she prefers them covered in sauce the more traditional way and that they were probably a little too cheesy. Their breakfast tacos and chorizo are always tasty though, which I think Tito’s is typically more known for.
