My wife and I spent two months in San Carlos back in January February of 2008. It was terrific. Met some great people. Rented a house right on the beach, not cheap back then though, $2400 a month. It was perfect though, we had our sea kayaks and spent many hours out on the water. A ton of bird and sea life right there. Highly recommended.

I love the Pelican footage. May I quote from Heaven's Prisoners by James Lee Burke? Fair enough. Nearly everything in San Carlos is "close" to the ocean. $500 in Denver, where I am from get you absolutely nothing. A compatible house - in a terrible neighborhood in my city would cost at least $2,000 / month. But to each their own.
Great video I just want to say that if you know where to change your dollars you can get a good rate! I change my $ at Santa Rosa the grocery store and get 20 pesos for the dollar!!!

Thanks. I spoke with several people who live there and they all said that it is very safe. Apparently, the city helps to monitor the people who come in and out of the town to help keep it safe. San Carlos has a small town feel where everyone watches out for each other. People did not seem to be worried about their mobiles phones or other items getting stolen which is a major concern in other areas in Mexico. I am not too sure about the house prices. I spoke with one person who said that they paid $130K USD. However, there are several trailer park neighborhoods that expats live in. I believe one could buy a place in these areas for a very inexpensive price. They also have neighborhoods with mansions where the prices are very expensive.
Awesome I want to go because I hate the usof nay plus I am from San Carlos California I was checking into ensenada but I didn't know there were coats living there.
