Bongos were a good choice and she started out with a good beat but after the first section of drums she does nothing new for the rest of the song except smile, if anything when the rest of the band is building she is simplifying her stuff and just using open hi hats when she could be peppering in all sorts of stuff to really sell it .

+KevSpace I am well aware it was according to her judgement to keep it simple, that is what makes her not that great of a drummer. If you can't judge her drumming on the premise of her keeping it simple and showing no creativity or vision in a bridge that all of her band is building on then what can you critique it on? If she stuffs the beat up? because there is no stuffing those beats up mate, they are all too simple. It is also important to note that I am not judging her on this piece alone, I like and listen to san sisco fairly frequently. Not one of their originals has made me think "this drummer knows her shit". And yes she is a musician, the dictionary will tell you that a musician is someone who plays a musical instrument, well done 1 gold star. Just because you are a musician in a semi-famous band, it doesn't mean you make great decisions every time or are even talented. Yoko ono, Meg white, PSY, William Hung are all some quick examples that come to mind. We do have our own tastes yes this is true. I don't let my taste get in the way of music critique. There are a lot of things I dislike but will appreciate musical talent and vice versa, this is a good example. I personally like the cover and what the band has achieved with this piece. But the drums are mediocre and I stick by that. Yes we have both never been on like a version, your point? I really don't get any of your arguments ay, you keep getting shut down and coming in with new bullshit angles to try to sound smart even though this started with me telling someone that the beat isn't that complex, she hasn't done anything very impressive even though she has been given plenty of chances in the song and the bongos definitely aren't pre recorded because there is not one part of the song where they overlap. Come at me when you have valid arguments buddy.

Actually that's not entirely true. In 2004 The Scissor Sister's appeared with their cover version of Take Me Out, then Franz Ferdinand appeared at number 1 with the original, so not quite 15 years, more like 9 years, and I think it may have happened since then. I know there have been times when a studio original and a live version of a song have appeared in the same annual countdown.
