Would you recommend parking at the convention centre over Padres Parkade? I'm most concerned with safety over cost. Are both susceptible to car break-ins?

$25 for parking at the convention center is nothing compared to $130 to park at SoFi

$25 for parking about same everywhere. Dodgers stadium $30

Last time I went downtown by the park, it was a homeless camp every other block. Half the stores were closed down. I felt safer in downtown LA. Sad. But Old Town San Diego still looks the same. All businesses were open. The restaurants were not as good but still a nice environment.
