I feel you on the construction sounds. My neighbour has been drilling holes in his walls and beating the shit out of something with a hammer for like 10 years already. Not a big fan of this
Great review Maltese! SD looks quite good and l am looking forward to picking it up. As I am working towards my next steel ship, wanting USS San Diego has me eyeing Austin. To complete the Atlanta class cruisers, is it possible to see USS Juneau in game one day, say for T6?
it was really stupid reading some of the devblog comments on reddit that she would be dead on arrival due to the amount of nerfs she got. yeah from those buffs that made it a t11 at t8. tbh i would give sandy a AP penetration buff to make the AP a bit more useful. Because DD calibre AP can still be decent damage in some scenarios
SAP alone makes this thing pretty nuts. Atlanta tends to shatter away so much of its theoretically higher DPM that it's not even funny in comparison. Slap on all the improvements to range, survivability, agility and arguably more comfortable consumables, and it's a pretty neat package. Might not even have to be worried about any nerfs to it, considering just how high the skill floor for the required playstyle is.
I really enjoy ur reviews and content. Even tho i play wows on console.i still love watching ur videos therw always entertaining. We just got san Diego yesterday in wows on console
Honestly reminds me of the Bayard, although I like Bayard lobbing shells behind an island. A mini Colbert. And agile and a bit of speed enough for duking. Seeing as Bayard is T8 for doubs, I guess this San Diego is a mini Austin. Now there is a pattern.
If it had HE instead AP, this ship would be amazing, btw im in a dilem about get Colbert or Gibraltar, did you played one of they and what's better for you? Amazing Video and what a nice guy with the compliment message
It would be broken if it had HE instead of AP. :P In terms of Colbert and Gibraltar, I very much enjoy the super light cruiser play-style, so Colbert for me personally.
The general consensus is that Gibraltar is a very bad Goliath copy that is only better at DD hunting (but can't spot the DD itself anyway). I know many people that bought the ship and now are begging WG to buff it to make it playable. Just beware.
I second the other two here. Gibraltar is really not worth the time to get her at all. Colbert is incredibly unique, while Gib is literally a Goliath clone but worse
I agree about saying wilco but I think the DD didn't realize you were restating the earlier request for smoke. I think he probably thought you did the smoke request because of the other dude spamming it. Not saying that line of thinking makes much sense. But if WoWs players made sense.... He probably assumed you wanted him to form up with you. If he didn't know anything about San Diego it's even more likely.
Usually, with super light cruisers, you either have radar or smoke. This ship has neither. So, what is the point of this ship compared to other super light cruisers? Also, small caliber guns usually means HE or improved angle AP. This ship has neither and even SAP has a limit to the angle it can pen.
This is not a pre-recorded video, where I commentate over previously made game, this is live commentary video, where I talk whilst I play, so I get what I get. This is done to show an honest representation of the ship. That's why both games were featured. The game with the higher tier ships I actually got higher damage also :P. But apart from that, I'm not going to stay playing multiple games in a row, maybe a whole day to get a t10 game. You can watch my stream on twitch, if you want that experience. TL:DR : reason these videos are like this, is because they are live commentary, which is requested by viewers.
On console we have san diego with 4.8 reload on the guns .but every other stat is the same. Its pretty good but the sap is super low alpha and the armor is 16 which ia like having just enough to arm all the shells lol i kinda wish san diego was like flint and had smoke as well.
Thanks for the comment, and I have no idea about the AA, but really and truly, not the reason you should buy a ship/not. Personally, I never have played a ship solely based on the AA of the ship or not. But sadly, I don't know if the AA is good or not.
Thanks for the reply. It’s definitely not my purchasing decision. I was just wondering, i wasn’t expecting a “no fly zone,” but if the extra puffs of flack were enough to discourage CVs.
Super Light cruiser, is a term used for these cruisers, with DD caliber guns, such as San Diego, Atlanta, Flint, Jinan, Austin, Sejong, Harbin, Chumphon, Colbert and Smolensk. Normally, light cruisers are those with calibers between around 150mm - 200mm. Therefore, we try differentiate between these 2 sub classes via their gun caliber.
32k more sap dpm than Austin, also better improved angled shells than Austin how is this ship not completely broken All t8 cruisers without a heal making sadge moises
It's actually an Atlanta hull, if it was a Sejong hull, it'd be even stronger. This doesn't have the 32mm armour Sejong has, it's just the Atlanta hull.
ah san diego the ship that was better than austin and people still called it bad for some reason. it now in a fairly good spot but i am kinda sad cause its not as fun as the absolutely busted version. still this shows that some people shouldnt talk about balance of a ship they have never played
@@hopsili Considering Austin is an utter, utter garbage ship at tier 10 maybe you should rethink your statement. Replace that -75% MBRB with standard 50% maybe Austin would make a pretty good Tier 8 ship.
@@IntelCorei-KProcessor-go2to buddy, austin has a brutal dpm with the reload booster. you really think that 530k sap dpm burst would be fine at t8? maybe check the stats first
@@MalteseKnight True, it is the closest thing to what Sandy is. Awesome games and as an American I might just have to pick her up. Not terribly keen on the Statue of Liberty skin tho.
