Seriously 8 30’s at one apartment complex?!?! Wow then the insane amount at the one after. That’s wild. Awesome video, definitely more relaxing than most
Each individual account receives one cart which kinda makes sense, kinda doesn't. They ended up pulling the carts from the 1st complex after the ESD rep saw they were serviced by Republic. But the second complex is serviced by ESD and thus... received 17 carts.
@@zp12684 have they not talked to drivers, reps, or accountants about the fact 17 carts will cost the city way more to service than it would be to have dumpsters for each stream. All the multifamily housing in Sac is franchised to a company where they then do dumpsters for each one. Glad we don’t have these excessive amounts of carts around
People's Ordinance... if residents can get their carts to a public street accessible by a truck, San Diego supplies the carts and pick them up for free. And this complex is taking full advantage of not having to pay a trash bill... which also means they have around 60 carts for all 3 streams.
Great work filming this! Nice to see you were able to make it out there and document this so soon. Appreciated the detailed description, it sure is nice to see a city do a smooth rollout, since Recology’s up here was about the worst I’d seen, with odd timing, not replacing all the carts, residents receiving carts of the wrong size (practically), and half the carts were dusty as heck for being brand new. Of course the crews were awesome, it was just the corporate part that was poorly planned. Like you mentioned, talking to the crew is always the fun part, SCS was the company Recology contracted, seems like all the rollout crews are fairly similar in terms of work. It’s great to see cities like San Diego finally sending these out to residents in full force, especially with the included compost pails and info. Overall, I do like how the 35 EGs look done up in SDs livery, looking forward to videos with them being collected. Sorry for the long comment lol, there’s a lot to say here. Fantastic video Zach!
Thanks for the descriptive comment Spencer! I'm glad ESD is giving each household a pail, helps residents ease into the transition. And I agree, the 35 EGs look pretty cool in ESD green
Great work! Cool to see new Green waste carts being rolled out, its been need for ages! The Rehrigs with the NOVA kitchen pails are neat to see I was wondering if you'd film this since Rehrig had some ESD organics carts paired with the Nova containers at their booth! The pickup truck full of those Kitchen pails is just funny looking, Managed to snag a few my self while at WASTECON! Great work!
always love a good cart rollout video! i thought some ESD residents already had organics carts, are they getting new ones? i'd actually enjoy cart rollout/rollin for a job lol
Yep! All residents will be getting the kitchen caddy and if they didn't previously have green waste service, or had to supply their own manual bins, they will be receiving a cart. Very few houses had automated greens.
You think they pick up the trash for free.. they are contracted by the city… half the time the recycle and garbage go to the landfill because they can’t process the recycling items anyways it’s a big spoof
