Probably not. I made it to Wrangell Alaska last August. I’m mostly going to cruise in SE Alaska where I won’t need them. If I do make another open ocean passage I will install paravane stabilizers.
Yes you are correct. Captain Brian decided to hug the coast due to high winds offshore. I would have preferred the off shore route and get the voyage over with sooner. Having said that, the four day non stop portion from Ft Bragg, CA to Neah Bay, WA was exhausting since it was just the two of us taking turns on watch.
