This footage is incredible man! Panda Ridge is a really stellar renovation, I didn't fathom they'd put in this much detail into the exhibits! I'm stoked to see this in person when I can - hopefully when the crowds die down 😅
Thank you! I’m going to try getting footage the next time I go first thing after park open to see how that is. The glare from the glass made it very difficult to film midday. The crowds will be present for a long while and when the eventual cub shows up it’ll be even crazier.
Thank you! I had to lift my phone on the gimble to get those shots. your best bet with a camera will be right at open or on an overcast day. I’m going to test it next time I go.
Agreed, even if it was mesh it’d be better, but it is what it is. They didn’t deviate much from the previous attraction, they just raised the height of the glass. It’s probably much better in the morning.
@@rjb_wildlife I wish that the @sandiegozoo would think of the Animals and the people who visit them. I think most people like to take photos and video of their visit. I guees it could be worse it cound be fencing that is to far away to throw out of focus with the camera Great Job though thank you for braving the heat and crowds I migtht do it myself this weekend and hit Balboa park too.
Overall, a decent renovation. I saw what I was expecting, but the amount of green is nice. The rockwork always looks better when more than half is blocked by evergreen trees. The habitats are vintage San Diego. I just wish the visitor experience was improved and more shade was added. This area can be unbearably hot due to the slope exposure. Smithsonian is still the gold standard to me, and this doesn't come close.
Yes, timed tickets are free but do require admission to the park. You are able to pick a time slot to visit and can add up to 6 people on one QR code. You can also do this multiple times for other time slots. There is also a standby line if you prefer not to go through the hassle of a timed ticket, the timed ticket just frees up your day to see other animals and plan for lunch in the park if you want.
