Great start John. I also have this kit but yet to start it. I always glue a £1 coin into the hulls of my ships. Just like they do at keel laying for real ships.

Thank you very much Andy!!! This one will be customized to my standards! I respect my audience! I remember that sometimes even as a kid i was watching TV series that suddenly were stopped, no ending. I hate that and of course here someone will have put money and time to a build, i cannot let him without an ending :)

I purchased this model for $150 during the Model Expo sellout. I will of course be watching closely during your build and not miss a minutes. I am just starting Pavel Nikitin's Santa Maria and will build the San Felipe right after that. Good luck!

You have to build San Felipe, she is gorgeous and there are many places that you can have LED lights :) Just needs some customization :)

Hi John I watch all your videos you do really nice work I have learned a lot from you I’m actually building the same ship but mine is 1/48 scale I’m like you i light all my models I’m actually new to ship building my main hobby is I build a lot of dioramas for train layouts , my question is what type of CA glue do you use on your ships ?

Hello John. Im kinda new to your channel and i allready love it also your puppers :D You are really good at craftsmanship and since i just started with wooden ship models im gonna sit in your channel for a while. Im not new to modeling i was working with other models but never with wood. Thats why i have one question. What is the safe time while glueing false keel pieces together to move it and do the rest of the frame to leave it for drying? Im asking cause im not sure if i should glue 2 pieces together and just wait 24hrs to start with the frame or i can put frame after some hours without waiting full day. I know safe spot is just to wait 24hrs but i would prefer to assemble whole skeleton in one day and leave it for full drying.on another. If i have to wait full day then im gonna wait. Keep up great work :)

Hi! Welcome aboard! You can ask me anything :) About your question, get some white glue fast dry, this means that after 5 hours the glue is set and you can work. Of course you have to apply a normal thickness layer of glue like the ones you see in the video. If the layer is thicker then 5 hours won't be enough. When the glue is transparent and hard is dry. Also give a lot of attention to the frame - skeleton. If you make a mistake there it is possible that you won't be able to fix it.

Thanks for fast reply. Yeah im gonna give a lot of attention to the frame aka most important stuff. I have picked up Belle Poule from occre also which means less frame work and less space for mistakes but still even 2mm mistake with frame can mean ruined build and no symmetry. But thats why im here, watching and learning. I know basics just need some lessons in woodworking :)
