Purdy does not have a $65m dollar arm. For example…I’ve never seen him overthrow a deep ball, wrs have always had to wait for that ball. I’m saying that’s not elite. Jeff Garcia had a better arm, was tougher, and really just had TO besides Hearst and Gardner. Eric “who” Johnson at TE…naw…JJ Stokes and Tai Streets, naw…if Jeff had this roster we would’ve won a Super Bowl today…something Purdy and JG couldn’t do. We learned from the JG experience and limited play. So is Purdy limited. He has to rollout to lower the chances of a tipped ball. So he does have limitations. What limits do Josh, Lamar heck even CJ, or Matthew have? Ohh Purdy has the best processor and best deep ball in the air yards that travels with birds…my pint is all that shht don’t matter if you have poor 3rd down and redzone conversions. Those are the only stats that really matter. Whats more important besides a “W?”

Tua, Trevor, Dak got paid. How about Jones, Murray, Carr, Baker, Herbert, Cousins. What have they done in the playoffs. All got paid. Purdy, Goff, Burrow, Hurts went to a superbowl. If they dont want to pay him, another team will.
our play calling is good it's our Red zone finish where we bin lacking. losses from major lead is what I don't understand( relaxed too soon???) Injuries and the rookies need to get addressed ... replacements need to have roughly same player mindset and skill building blocks to be mentored. in my opinion.

Here we go with the arm strength BS. Go look at the passes to Kittle and Cowell . Both were under pressure where Brock was not able to get set. The pressure was ridiculous in this game. Separation was pathetic and the KC defense schemed the SF out of existence. This was superior coaching, plain and simple.
KC made them one dimensional by controlling the clock. The defense, outside of the two picks wasn't very good. They gave up like 180yds on the ground. Not the 49ers D from a few years ago...

There was a team not too long ago that let themselves be convinced their polarizing young QB coming off his rookie contract wasn't worth a contract extension and traded him away, the sport media was all over this as the right move, especially after this team took a huge swing at QB to replace him. That pass to Kittle had NOTHING to do with "arm strength." Kittle was not open at all on that play. Not even a tiny bit. That was 100% just a really bad decision.
The game was close most of the time until the end. But its hard to win when you commit 3 turnovers, too many penalties, horrible Special Team play, not having your 3 top play makers due to injuries while playing against one of the best defensive coordinator/team, and playing against the best QB in the League!
F! But give him support for gods sake! What can you do if the pocket’s collapsing and you don’t have any top WR:s, only Kittle and Juice but they are stars and always covered by 1-2 defenders.
Being elite isn’t about playing perfect games it’s about making the perfect play at key times . Purdy did it last years nfc championship game and still could do it again that being said no way should they trade him to keep all their aging superstars
If he was elite, they wouldn't be 3-4 and struggle to beat the Vikings and the Chiefs. He'd find a way. He's good, just not elite as of now. That could change, though.
I've never really been a SF fan - however over the last few years that's changed. I find this question almost annoying . I'm definitely not a fan of Mahomes -- I think he's overrated. Here are the facts Brock Purdy (49ers): Passing yards: 1,841 (higher than Mahomes) Touchdowns: 9 (higher than Mahomes) Interceptions: 7 Completion percentage: 63.9% Yards per attempt: 8.5 (higher than Mahomes) Sacks: 13 Passer Rating -- 91.2 (higher than Mahomes) Purdy has slightly more rushing yards and one more rushing touchdown than Mahomes Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs): Passing yards: 1,389 Touchdowns: 6 Interceptions: 8 Completion percentage: 67.9% (better than Purdy) Yards per attempt: 7.4 Sacks: 11
"an exec from another team"... probably hoping to pick up Purdy on a trade... go figure. I doubt underthrowing Cowing and Kittle was an arm strength factor... he's thrown longer balls... more likely other factors. With Cowing, probably just a lack of reps. With Kittle, his pattern was off script - he (Kittle) did the right thing given the situation... but it was off script. I 100% that both throws could have been better and if they were, they would have been TDs... just disagreeing that it was a arm strength thing.

But Mahomes has a clutch factor bout his game where the team never feels out of it. That’s part of that pay grade I feel Purdy doesn’t have. I’d rather give him a 3 year 30/yr as a prove it deal before I jumped to make him a franchise QB
@@ByJayare it's a going rate thing... up to the 49er's or whomever to decide what he gets paid... not us. Of course, we can discuss it and everyone will... but unless we're writing the check, our discussion ain't worth much. First of all, the season isn't over, so let's see how it plays out. Secondly, IMO at least, Brock has demonstrated better production than many/most top 10 QBs ($$ wise)... that puts him up in the $50m discussion legitimately. I mean, Brock has done much better than Dak in the playoffs in particular and he showed "clutch" abilities in last year's playoffs. Do I hope he takes a team-friendly deal? Of course. $30m is too low. He's clearly better than Geno or Carr or hell, even the current Rodgers and several others in that range. Maybe something in the $40-45m range will be enough, but I think $30m is an insult unless he falls WAY off his current production for the rest of the year.
I guess people are watching some other game but when you play the best defense in the NFL and you happen to have your teammates that you practice with in game planned with get hurt and sick. In an offensive line that does not block very well. This is the end result.
Purdy wasn't the complete cause for the loss to the Chiefs, plain and simple they just got outplayed and outcoached. Let's see what happens this week against Dallas.
You can only blame Brok so much. Does he have some responibility for the bad games yes. However, he had poor protection and is running for his life on too many plays with no time to see the field and make good throws. Plus the receiver core is weak and/or injured. They paid BA after one good season and look how that turned out. When your LT is th eonly good player on your OL you are not going to win against good well coached teams.
The biggest mistake in 49ers history was bypassing the local Rogers from CAL in 2005 draft, for QB Smith. I believe Rogers is still playing in 2024 with Jets. Imagine the SB Rings with Rogers.
Brock is not the problem. Shanahan is. Teams have figured shanahan out. His play calling is stale and everyone knows it. I say time for a change at head coach.
Purdy doesn’t have Andy Reid nor does have have the defense Patrick Mahomes has at this point. Niners were in the game but Kyle calls slow developing pass plays vs solid pass rush. How do we get a pick and a return and then throw a pick. Run the ball play it’s safe get points.

It would be absurd to trade such a great QB like Brock Purdy. I love this guy and what he’s made of. No one is perfect yet he strives to do his best. Love and respect to our 49er QB Brock Purdy!!
If they trade Purdy away, they will be Irrelevant for a longggg time. Maybe, a good idea would be fire Shanahan, and get a coach and see how he does under a new coach. Why would you trade away your future just because he has a bad game in awhile? Unbelievable if they trade him, and will no longer be a Niners fan.
Purdy is young and will continue to grow. Everyone has bad outings and Purdy will be no exception. Our 49er legend, Joe Montana, once had a season where he had a 3 interception game and a 4 interception game. Quit the panic! Purdy will continue to grow.
I mentioned to the Kruege Show the same thing... RUN THE DARN BALL. It doesn't take a genius to see that we have a very good Rushing core group. We wlin when we run the ball more. We get away from it too early, then get pass happy. I feel we need to spread out the D by not passing through the middle so much. It worries me how much Purdy runs around and then tries crazy acrobatics to hit his recievers, which is not often enough. He is much more accurate with play action and even just standing in the pocket to pass. All this being said, I don't think Purdy should be traded, but Shanahan needs to really improve his play calling and that should help too.
If they trade Brock Purdy, I am done with the 49ers and I’m done with the NFL. I will never watch another game for the rest of my life because there is more important things and when they destroy peoples lives like this and use them I’m done.
I would seriously question rooting for this team if we traded him. The Niners waited 20+ years for a guy like Brock. The alternative to being a contender is NOT blowing it up. You keep Brock under center while you re build. Purdy is gonna be our guy for 10 seasons. How can we accommodate him best is the question. I don’t mind trading the talent around him. They can be replaced. Good QBs cannot be. You need to be extremely lucky. Phillip Rivers, Drew Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Eli & Peyton, Stafford etc. they were all the QB for long periods of time. Have great years and bad ones. But the QB remains the rock of the team. Purdy is way ahead of all of those guys in terms of production at his age.
If Im Purdy i do not play the final year without an extension. Not worth it at that point he has shown what he has to offer and at this point they should know what they have and how much he is worth
Chase the 49ers need to Trade Kyle Shanahan and get a better replacement. He is trying to put the blame on Brock.. He has lost 3 Superbowl Finals he is the issue.
That's not forget that what Patrick mahomes had one or two turnovers no touchdowns about $150 yd passing and basically played like s*** like he has all your long so let's just take the crown off the homes and just say it is what it is he didn't play good cuz he didn't have his best players around him he had a bad game Big deal and it still wasn't all that bad
This is all the same talk that happened on 2020 when the team was hit with less injuries and had Jimmy G at QB. And they started back up in 2021 when the team started poorly. The team shouldn’t overreact. They need to build the offensive line. They need a defensive coordinator that knows how to adjust. This off-season they will have a lot of decisions to make. They shouldn’t complicate by taking on some large contract in a trade to try to save this season.
That’s why I would be OK with them trading Purdy, because Purdy just proved to us on Sunday that he can’t carry a team when his star players are mostly out! M
Monday l told my wife Shanahan needs to give Brock 100% control of the play calling , let the offense jell as a unit & let the players feel game & call plays , l think coach holds the offense back from full potential . And tell the kickers your fined 20k if you even attempt a tackle .
At this point the SB window has closed. Purdy is good and he should get a huge contract before next year. He’s not going anywhere. But we can’t afford to keep Debo, Aiyuk, Jennings, and a lot of these studs on defense. Maybe now is the time to start prepping for next season. They obviously don’t give a rip about winning these games thus far as shown by the “caution” in getting CMC out there. Well, now CMC is ready and the season is already done. Thanks. Like this is the craziest thing I've heard in awhile why trade him when you say he is going to be the highest paid qb or at least one of them what they need to do is adapt in the play calling and do more for the lines to protect and punish the rest

Purdy is only is year 3 as a starter and look at what he has already done, even with a bad game or two here and there. This "anonymous" NFL exec is a joke.
That will be the death of the 49ers fanbase if they do this. Shanahan has just as much blame as Purdy for the difficulty with Chiefs and others. He is their best QB talent in a decade and the niners faithful love him.
If the 49ers defense was playing how they should, like KC's, then the 49ers would have at least been very close if not won that game. But lost in the subpar performance of purdy was a defense that STILL struggled along with special teams. I don't care what you say about Mahomes moments. Purdy had his moments but his defense nullified those.
Are you insane, been a 49er fan for 43 years, this guy is really good. Everybody looks bad against the Chiefs defense, Brock has been the best all around QB we've had since Steve Young. You would have buried every QB in the hall of fame if they were judged on one bad game. I would rather lose with Purdy and the core we have than constantly whine and think we have to make changes on a dime. They are really exciting, have you forgotten the Green Bay and Detroit playoff games, he was great and will be great again. What a great role model, thank God you're not the GM, you'd probably trade for Daniel Jones.
It took me a long time to get over the Alex Smith trade they pull this shit and I dont think I'll ever forgive them. And I've been a Niners fan for 40 years!!!!!
Be real, outside of Mahomes or Allen, there is NO QB that could come in and fix all the issues the 49ers have this season. Purdy will learn and grow from this.
