I have no idea where this nonsense about Taylor comes from. His best season was the next year in 1993, when he led the NFL in DVOA and yards per target. He was in the best shape of his life that season. His break was a simple fracture that didn't require surgery. Not a major injury.

@@TheWakeup011 No, it's just I've seen this false narrative from fans before. They think, "hey, he broke his leg in 1992. I see 1,000+ yards before that, and only triple digits after that, therefore the leg break must have affected him," as though there's some huge, magical difference between 1,011 and 940 because of the number of digits (the real difference was just in number of targets...he also missed most of the Bengals game in 1993 with a stinger in his shoulder). Also, 1989 was unusually inflated by that MNF game vs. the Rams, plus passing effectiveness was up across the league that year. Passing effectiveness was down in 1993. The league was more defensive-oriented in 1990-1993.
